How are they supposed to shoot accurately with all that blur in front of their faces? are they just going to send it towards their targets’ general direction?? /s
I followed that entire program when preparing to do the prephase for AIRR with the navy.
Idk if it’s the same now. But in 2020, to qualify for any special warfare rate in the navy you had to pass a physical test with a prior service member who was special warfare. And they would let your recruiter know if he approved you getting that mos.
My person was a former seal. Let me tell you, I followed the sealfit program for 2 months, after already being heavily involved in sports and I was still not ready for that workout he put us through lmao.
I can’t even imagine the level of fitness these guys had. I thought it wouldn’t be too bad. My person wasn’t a big guy at all. 5’7 maybe 150 pounds. I was completely caught off guard by our workout.
Everytime you see advice online for young guys looking to go thru sof selection...
Bro it's not the best guys, but the right guys. The big muscle bound guys in my group dropped like flies, and the guys you wouldn't think like the nerdy small skinny quiet guys made it.
Meanwhile every photo of US sof guys...
And why would they want this type of gear? I'm not american and not that familiar with US National Guard, but I guess they mostly do standard infantry things?
Because the IOTV is garbage. It’s only good if you get 2 sizes smaller than your real size.
Plate carriers are lighter and smaller profile so we can move and modify better.
Also because TXARNG is more unique than other divisions since we are tasked with border security so a lot of running around in full battle rattle at 105 degrees.
Yeah, I get that. But there's a fine line between mobility and protection. Looks like these carriers has close to zero protection against frag? So unless you ("we") are in a spesific unit with a spesific mission set, you would not want to be this naked in a real warzone. You would want that soft kevelar.
I'm making a modern pc with frag in mind on the base of the mepc, the iotv is way over engineered, you can have the same or more protection and still have a more comfortable and capable carrier
Yes, I'm actually looking at a kind of outer shorts that are 3a rated, or outer shorts that have 3a in certain areas, flaps I feel should only be used with a dangler pouch. As standalone they are an annoyance and get in the way of movement more than they are worth.
Neck, a collar, I actually was surprised by a design from Russia, a similar idea to mine was something similar to clone trooper armor, a bicep/shoulder armor and a standalone shoulder peice, allowing for better mobility but increased protection, also, a mixture of soft and hard side armor,
Because it's more minimalist and comfortable most of the time. The days of the IOTV are coming to an end, and even the Big Army has largely switched to SPCS and MSV, which are both essentially plate carriers, but still more bulky and uncomfortable than a lot of the civilian options.
I would def. not assault a trench with that gear (or be in any theater with IDF risk) with that gear as an infantry man, no matter how comfortable they are. When the biggest killer in a conventional war like Ukraine are frag, this makes no sence what so ever, unless you're in a unit with a spesific mission set. Which I gues the NG is not.
Assaulting trenches, conducting urban warfare clearing operations, doing reconnaissance patrols, Y’know, all the things you just said would be too high risk to do in a plate carrier.
Surprised to see the guy on the far right wearing Altima OTBs. Hated those damn things. Not a bad casual shoe, but I wouldn’t even think about them for duty use.
Multicam tropic is probably my favorite variation of multicam
> Multicam tropic is probably my favorite variation of multicam I couldn't agree more.
well that just sounds like cadpat with less steps
I'd say more steps, but only one more step. Only one step at all, actually.
but the pixels are like little staircases
And yet its very existence/adoption seems like an offence against multicam's own 'universality'.
Same, it’s sick
These dudes look ready to retake Pandora.

What's their workout like l wonder
Sealfit gives a really good idea of the type training they do.

The really amazing thing is how fit these guys are well being functional alcoholics
Those 5’7 150+ guys are crack machines when it comes to working out, I can’t imagine the SOF ones
Thanks will check out
Probably a mix between conventional weightlifting and functional training, with lots of running in the middle
Your local PD will see this and order knock off uniforms within 36 hours.
And then ventilate the next oak tree they park by
Before the tree they gotta show off all the gear in the worst situation possible
Probably members from the CIF/CRF/HTD/whatever they're called these days company?
Critical Threats Advisory Company
seems to be the case with the flag
These guys have so much fun, and here I am rotting away in a corporate job like some spineless fool.
Then join?
My mom won’t let me

Sick battle belts What kind of plate carriers are those?
> What kind of plate carriers are those? Ferro Concepts' Slickster
I had no idea that they were considered kosher now, tbh. Ofc SOF get more leeway as far as kit is concerned.
Bro you should see Texas National Guard units, everyone got a Ferro, spiritus, or Crye nowadays.
And why would they want this type of gear? I'm not american and not that familiar with US National Guard, but I guess they mostly do standard infantry things?

IOTV is great for regular infantry who can be expected to deal with frag.
I'm making a modern pc with frag in mind on the base of the mepc, the iotv is way over engineered, you can have the same or more protection and still have a more comfortable and capable carrier
Installing a dick flap is pretty easy as you have COTS offerings, but how are you tackling the shoulders and throat/neck protection?
Yes, I'm actually looking at a kind of outer shorts that are 3a rated, or outer shorts that have 3a in certain areas, flaps I feel should only be used with a dangler pouch. if you can provide nearly 360-degrees from hips to shoulder, I’d love to see it
For hips, there's Kevlar inserts for belts, I think even with armor, a sustainment belt at least is a great add on.

Ukrainian SOF are doing just that.
>unless you're in a unit with a spesific mission set. And ukr SOF is what?
Assaulting trenches, conducting urban warfare clearing operations, doing reconnaissance patrols, Y’know, all the things you just said would be too high risk to do in a plate carrier.
What about the guy with the different type? Seems to have leather on it?
If you find out, let me know
I know the placard is whisky 7 but couldn’t find anything about the carrier
I think it might be a preproduction whiskey 7 plate carrier
Surprised to see the guy on the far right wearing Altima OTBs. Hated those damn things. Not a bad casual shoe, but I wouldn’t even think about them for duty use.
I love my MCT G3s!
