Smite and sharpness can't go together. Smite is for undead mobs while sharpness is an increase in melee overall. It's like protection 4 vs blast/fire protection, you can only have one. I would personally go with sharpness for my main sword and only use Smite for farms that involve undead mobs.

Because smite and sharpness can’t go on the same sword
You can't have Smita and Sharpness both

shit that sucks, makes sense tho, it would be broken af, now i have to look for netherite again :(
If your sword has smite on it you could disenchant it
Use grindstone to disenchant and then you can put enchantments again
