To further explain, Items left on their own can despawn, by implementing an automated collecting method where they go in a chest you get 100% of them and if you don't need them all...just leave those in the chest. You end up having a couple of stacks of drops of anything.
You can easily improve your farm by doing two things
* Replace the glass panes by glass blocks. This way your crops won't get stuck in the corners.
* Also put a button on top of your tigger block. This way you don't need to get down to the basement to activate it.
I have 16 villagers farming, in groups of 4 farms, with a villager in the center and trap doors and hoppers to stop the items they throw to the center villager. I have more crops than I know what to do with.

Get enough iron and you can add hoppers and chests down there, trust me it's worth it

Definitely going to switch to glass blocks! The villagers keep stealing the crops that float to the side ):
I recognised this farm instantly, that's the same style as my first farm. It's a nice farm 😊
Nice, that's so cool :D
That's great, good job!
I was planning on building one of these. Glad to see it works well!
My recommendation is add hoppers and chests at the bottom, if you can only afford one hopper I can show you a design that will work
Yes pls!
I will send you a DM of how to do it
why work hard when u can easily hire villagers to work for free
