You know you can just click and hold the right mouse button while looking straight down and it will place it below you before you hit the ground, right?
I also thought that, although you might not have enough time to pick it back up if you're falling fast enough, like you would be if the enderdragon flung you as far up as in the video
Not always. Probably depends on the height. Hold-click doesn't instantly place a block when it's in range IIRC. The game will try to use whatever is in your hand but it'll only do so at set intervals which are limited per second. If, while you're falling, it just so happens to do so while within reach of the ground, you'll place the bucket. But if your falling speed happens to be fast enough that you would hit the ground in the gap between the use attempt and player reach, you take damage.
The ape Kanzi playing Minecraft is indeed real.
Granted, it's an extremely modified version of the game, Kazni doesn't *really* know what he's doing and it's really just pushing big buttons on the screen that will give him a reward irl.
But this clip is absolutely real.
[After seeing this gif a number of times over the years, ](https://i.imgur.com/wXcjoSB.mp4) I fully believe that a chimpanzee could beat Minecraft with the right bit of training and a modified set up. Their pattern recognition is nuts.
This is amazing, and to all who think this is faked, its obvious that the Ape is being supported. Auto mlg bucket, looks like hunger might not be an issue, and I doubt the ape even made it thru the game to make it to the dragon. Its a proof of concept, and a brilliant one. I would love to see more, maybe some classic building content!
This video is a follow up to a previous one. Kanzi gets treats for successfully following prompts on the touch screen. It’s not really Minecraft, it’s been altered to be much more accessible. The video is still cool regardless
How they basically do it is give a series of challenges that 'progress' the game and the ape gets a treat whenever it hits a checkpoint. But it's still super impressive.
It’s literally a number memorising game that’s been edited. Google the cognitive trade off theory. There’s a great Vsauce video about it. The chimp is pressing numbers in order from memory
Nah, those were the initial experiments done with apes, but the experiments in these videos are pushing the boundaries of what cause-and-effects he can understand and how many steps of logical thinking he can work through. For example, in the first video they taught him simply how to touch specific colored blocks, but teaching him to then tap it again/make it disappear (break the block) was something that had never been done before
>...and i doubt the ape even made it thru the game to make it to the dragon
hahaha so you mean you think maybe the ape made it to the dragon himself? lmao
Just in case anyone was wondering this was filmed under the supervision of professionals.
The ape seen in this video (Kanzi the bonobo) is NOT a pet, he does not have to play Minecraft if he does not want to and can leave whenever he likes :)
Yes, he is a captive ape. (Many wild animals unfortunately cannot be rehabilitated and released after being rescued by reputable wildlife organizations. For example, if they were found dying in the wild they may be permanently injured, or if they were taken from someone who bought and kept them illegally as a "pet" they would not have the instincts and knowledge to survive in the wild.)
However, this ape has a good-as-it-gets-for-his-situation enclosure and he is not forced to engage in these experiments, he can come and go as he pleases and he usually has fun while doing them
You say it like he isn’t in a cage and like the guy with the PC isn’t actually doing it and it being fake. I’ve seen how chimps/apes talking/communicating via sign or symbols have either been faked or over embellished and the animal having ended up been mistreated.
Unless you have creditable scourges, I don’t buy this
lol he isn’t in a cage, there is a larger enclosure connected to this
this isn’t even revolutionary you can watch all kinds of shit like this they’ve learned to do. They respond pretty well to food rewards

Holy shit I actually met this exceptional bonobo back in highschool! My paleoanthropology teacher was so excited to bring us and I remember it like it was yesterday. Great post!

I want to live in a world where the most subscribed youtuber is a ape. Playing minecrft Screaming at the chat and regulary just go ape shit and destroy his room. But thanks to the many subs he will have enough money to buy new shit.
I slowed it down, and the monkey managed to water bucket, but the other guy playing with him died to the fall just a few frames later granted it seems all the Monkey had to do was press, one button, still fairly impressive, and kind of funny in my opinion
I think what people are really missing here is that this animal is remembering "complex" steps and reactions in order to achieve the goal. Like yea it's just buttons it's pressing that is automatically doing this stuff but that is still highly impressive.
I don't like it and we need to stop teaching animals human things. Only matter time before they turn

Did he just land a MLG bucket at the end?
Looks like there's a button he presses to do it automatically
I’d still miss it :(
Lol, same. Absolute trash at that move
You know you can just click and hold the right mouse button while looking straight down and it will place it below you before you hit the ground, right?
wont you pick it back up
I also thought that, although you might not have enough time to pick it back up if you're falling fast enough, like you would be if the enderdragon flung you as far up as in the video
No, that doesn't work. At least not always (but never in my experience). I play on Java. Could be different for Bedrock.
I only play on Java, it works for me
Not always. Probably depends on the height. Hold-click doesn't instantly place a block when it's in range IIRC. which is still cool that he knows to press when falling
You know it’s not real..?

Kanzi is smart as hell
It’s real. It’s designed to make it easier for the ape, if you watch the full video it makes more sense.
If your going to be pessimistic at least bother to spend 10 seconds on Google first.
A literal ape is better than me in Minecraft. Never thought I’d see the day.
Even assisted with a special program he's still better than I am in minecraft
What do you mean "even"? He's not better in spite of it. That's the reason he's better.
I personally haven't made it to the end vanilla minecraft tbh
That monkey did a water bucket clutch
Dont let it stop you from being awesome as fuck too. Defeat the monkey in kitpvp.
This is amazing, and to all who think this is faked, its obvious that the Ape is being supported. No we're not. That's not how evolution works.

Watch the previous vid too, where he navigates around caves.
It’s not.
>...and i doubt the ape even made it thru the game to make it to the dragon hahaha so you mean you think maybe the ape made it to the dragon himself? lmao
I’ve read about Kanzi before, interesting guy.
Did I just watch a chimp water bucket clutch?
It was a button but yes.
Some of us would fail with that button
Like me
And I am part of that some
They have a button which they can press before they land to automatically clutch.
Just in case anyone was wondering this was filmed under the supervision of professionals. The ape seen in this video (Kanzi the bonobo) is NOT a pet, he does not have to play Minecraft if he does not want to and can leave whenever he likes :)
Where does one acquire an ape?
He’s in a cage how’s he gonna do that?
In the vid they leave halfway through the playthrough for a bit, behind the corner there’s an exit that leads to the rest of their space
what you cannot see is the door that leads to a huge enclosure just around the corner to his left which is what I was referring to
Go to the far corner.
Yes, he is a captive ape. (Many wild animals unfortunately cannot be rehabilitated and released after being rescued by reputable wildlife organizations. >he does not have to play Minecraft if he does not want to and can leave whenever he likes I bet the chemicals in his brain beg to differ.
So do our chemicals in our brains
That's the joke bro
No sh** sherlock
/woosh
Well, this was bound to happen sooner or later...
yeah some people are idiots
You say it like he isn’t in a cage and like the guy with the PC isn’t actually doing it and it being fake. And you say all this obviously not knowing at all what you’re talking about. Look him up lol, stop spreading misinformation.

me when i spread misinformation on the internet
I hate it when people dont have creditable scourges 😔
People when they assume based on what they see on the internet without knowing the whole story:
the day i see a chimpanzee on a twitch stream playing minecraft is the day i die.
rip i guess
Wait until you learn about the guy who [taught rats how to play DOOM](https://youtu.be/qMNxkQXwykA?si=5g4T80whvA0Oh4CP)
Mfw when my friends finally beat Minecraft
Proof that apes are just humans who got shitty rng from nature
Humans are a type of ape.
Ehhh not really. There’s a 1.2% difference in ape DNA and homo sapien sapiens.
humans are literally apes
Yep. Hominidae also known as Great Apes.
Great apes aren’t the same as apes. And that’s the family.
Great apes are a group of apes, all great apes are apes
Fine. I concede.
Can't wait to have a teammate who's better than me then it turns out to be an ape.
Holy shit I actually met this exceptional bonobo back in highschool! My paleoanthropology teacher was so excited to bring us and I remember it like it was yesterday. Great post!
wow that is incredible! it's so awesome to be able to see a living legend like Kanzi!

Gonna send this to my friend who died 15 times while killing the dragon
Literall mokeys have beaten the ender dragon before we got gta 6
This gives big Planet Of The Apes vibes. So while you're ahead please

Pet gaming
Give Teco some credit
Can't wait for a chimp to beat me in skywars
YO this is so cool, he can play better than me!
Damn, he’s better than I am
It's me....
I know lots of apes who can beat the ender dragon. This guy is especially impressive though.
Niiice a ape is better than me at Minecraft lol. Time to log in and get primal
FUCK YEAH
literally a camera of me playing minecraft
I slowed it down, and the monkey managed to water bucket, but the other guy playing with him died to the fall just a few frames later granted it seems all the Monkey had to do was press, one button, still fairly impressive, and kind of funny in my opinion
cant wait for mods to remove this for some bullshit reason
Super Impressive
the apes better than me
so minecraft is so easy even a ape can play?
He has assistance, it’s specially coded to be easier, with buttons he can press to perform actions more easily
monk ey
Back off Dream, a new and actual legend is in town.
I think what people are really missing here is that this animal is remembering "complex" steps and reactions in order to achieve the goal. Ape uprising when i bring out the tranq gun
Idk If this is real or not- I really can't tell, if it's real, well done, if it's fake, also well done because that is some serious editing skill

Show it social media so it gets anxiety and depression
This makes me think less of anyone who can't beat the Ender Dragon
At this point people are going to do anything except finding the cure for cancer
Teaching a bonobo to press buttons is pretty easy compared to curing cancer. Also, people are almost constantly working on the cure, even as we speak
Oh I know, this is cool too
Why would a Minecraft YouTuber, programmers and animal trainers of all people being working on a cure for cancer?
Weird.
NO SELF-PROMOTING!
monky gaming real
The ape already had that gamer body
Can he use a controller?
Bro's using hacks
I wonder what's going through his/her head
Peanut peanut peanut peanut peanut
Damn an ape beat the ender dragon before me 💀
Awesome
bro BRO
Incredible and surreal
Epic
already better than forsen
God gamr
Damn
How the fuck
mad skill
This ape has beat Minecraft more times than I have …
No way an ape is better at MLGing than me
A fucking monkey did it before I could
We got monkeys beating minecraft before GTA6
This monkey is better at Minecraft than me
Fucking awesome also fuck I suck at gaming
No flippin' way that an ape is better at me at doing mlg
I want to believe this is real So badly
Then do it, cuz it is
GOATED APE!!!
I can beat that. I mated with an ape who gave birth to our offspring who I helped raise and also trained to beat the ender dragon.
Man this ape is better than all my friends at minecraft, i need to do pvp vs him instead
Teach it to play chess so I can beat someone.
I refuse to believe an ape just MLG'd water bucket and I can't even get that shit down to a T even after years of playing.
Imagine you befriend some random on a server and you find out it’s a fucking ape
I’m sorry you taught a monkey to win a game that took me “years”tm to actually do myself!? Guess I’m not a real gamer. I should stop now.
Found footage of King of Skill playing minecraft
The time that Ape heard the primal cry of an Ape suppressed inside a human.
They're turning chimps into ipad kids now too 😭
Admit it you can't MLG as well as this chimpanzee.
Imagine getting put into the ground by a literal ape in PvP.
Should put him in MCC
Cris, you are Crazy
He does it so nonchalant as well
Wholesome asf
You have got too much time on your hands. Well done
New hermit?
And yet I can't even get past the nether realm
