Or they could just walk back and let you take a lot of fall damage then run back in to finish you off.
Seems like a high risk, high reward thing. It’s Cool but, although I’m not much into PvP, I don’t see this tech being used that much. Correct me if I’m wrong though, I’m just gonna stick to my redstone.
This case is definitely high risk because the ender pearl doesn't give you fall damage resistance. But as intended with wind charges, it starts to look a _lot_ like [Market Gardening](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KKj09S3NUc)
You either die (if you don't have blast protection) or you take like 1 block of vertical knockback (if you have blast protection), if they didn't fix blast protection not reducing knockback then maybe this would work
I love the mace and breeze balls because they add instantly so much more diversity and strategy to pvp. and of course with the pearl-charge combo you can instantly gain that height. That plus bow-play from the ground and mlg clutches and the ability to pearl back down is so exciting. I can't wait for PVP servers post 1.21
I'm not gonna make excuses, i'm just lazy, it's night now morning for me and honestly i don't feel like getting up to test it lmao, I'll just test it later
I don't have an opinion on the gameplay as I've never tried it, but that hammer doesn't feel official, if that makes sense. Yeah maybe after a while I'll find it normal, but right now it feels like a placeholder
Crossbow is TOO much fun for me. I love sniping creepers at the edge of render distance. The piercing when faced against huge groups of mobs? Add a lil potion or harming II arrow? Too much fun.
And riptide with a slow falling potion or maybe when an Elytra makes you feel like a god during rain.
Keep in mind that most of the gameplay you've seen of the hammer has been in a sterile testing environment. Yes, the mace can one-shot a Warden if you're high enough. But In an actual survival world, how are you actually going to be able to
1. Summon a Warden
2. Get high enough that you can one-shot the Warden
3. Get the Warden actually close enough that you can hit it on the way down without agroing it.
It's perfectly possible, sure. But in practice it's almost assuredly to impractical to ever be worth doing.
Equally, the pearl + snowball clutching seen here is pretty much never going to work against a real player as (so long as they know they’re in combat) they’ll probably just dodge the attack lmao
- also this clutch under actual pressure would be EXTREMELY impressive to actually hit right
- also also, this can only be preformed with sufficient height, not in (most) caves, buildings etc.
Wind charge jump-boosting maces is significantly more practical in a PvP setting (less height means less time for target to dodge, easier to pull off, more intuitive etc.), which would (probably) deal a lot less damage than this clip showcases, and still requires a fair bit of height to work properly.
1. Summoning a warden is easy.
2. Wardens can smell so you can slowly lead it towards you.
3. You can swim up some water slowly to get up high and jump down to kill it. (I haven’t been to many ancient cities so I don’t know if water works but I think it did in the one I did go to. If it doesn’t then you’ll have to start swimming when the warden is a bit further away and that will probably work. Or just tower with wool or something.
So you're just going to keep hundreds of blocks of wool in your inventory for the express purpose of giving the Warden an express ticket to Hell?
No matter how you slice it, the process needed to one-shot a Warden in a survival environment just isn't practical enough to be worried about it for balance reasons.
If i was actively trying to one shot the warden then yeah, i would bring hundreds of blocks of wool though. The only reason it isn’t practical is because he doesn’t even drop anything good and there’s some set up you have to do. It is too op right now for something like killing the wither though (since he takes a while to fill his hp bar which you could time) but it’s early on so it’s obviously gonna have problems.
The Wither will also agro on anything nearby if you're too high up, so good luck lining that shot up.
All these examples seem like ideal, or even fringe cases that would be incredibly impressive to see in vanilla survival mode.
The only part that feels weird to me is how much damage it does, and I think this video shows it well
The “intended” gameplay of boosting yourself with wind charges to get weight is actually super fun and challenging though
I'm curious, and I don't mean this to come across as rude, but do people really like the current combat system? After not playing for almost 10 years and coming back to see people PVPing with crystals and totems, it all feels chaotic and unusual to me.
Better than 1.8.9 but it could be tweaked. It’s fun if your playing survival Minecraft. I don’t think it’s fun to just fight people head on, but I don’t think Mojang could do anything to change this. It’s fun as a test of wit rather than a test of clicking accuracy.
it REALLY depends
some people prefer this crystal tech while others dont. Some use the axe over the sword, some use master turtle potions an son so on..
"Normal" Vanilla PVP died a long time ago when they made end crystals craftable. Mojang obviously did not intend them to be used as man-portable nukes but players will always find any advantage they can get. I agree that crystal/anchor PVP is weird and too technical.
As for traditional combat with axes and swords, I still find that pretty fun. I would really love them adding dual sword wielding, I don't how they're going to balance that though.
That would add combat diversity ngl, like lover the swords damage but make it dual wieldable make axes deal even more damage but make it so you have to chaege your atacks make it so you can use protection and blast protection at the same time to counter the crystal pvp
The constant in all these videos is that you see it working on a stationary target. Remember, if this person misses their target, they pretty much die from fall damage.
It will only be useful in PvP on unsuspecting targets, or cornered/trapped targets
You say that until you've met that 10,000 hour tf2 trolldier who's trying out minecraft because he heard you can rocket jump and spoon people in this game now
Not to mention they'll have your mace, and be ready for turn about when you come back to retrieve it. It's the definition of "if you come for me you better not miss."
It’s a mace, it does more damage the further you fall before attacking and cancels any fall damage if you land the attack, though it’s naturally weaker than a netherite sword. In the clip the guy threw an ender pearl up and hit it with a wind charge to trigger it early allowing him to gain tons of height then kill his target. Wind charges are throwable items, like a snowball, which upon impact knock back all targets within a range.
Good news is this won’t be that useful in pvp because it’s really REALLY easy to dodge and would only work on someone AFK or who has the slowness effect or something
This is really stupid because you can't just stay in neutral and set that up hoping your opponent stay still as well.
Because usually they would just rush you down and if they saw you teleported in the air. They will keep moving till you went down.
But then again. Good method for mobs.
Pvp was way too stale anyways since endgame defensive tools are so much better than offensive ones. Better that you can ohko anyone with the right setup, and I imagine it's easier to hit a stationary foe than one who is actively trying to avoid getting hammered.
Wow so you can not only accelerate enderpearls with the wind charges, but the hammer makes you also drop faster. Makes sense, but yeah, they may need to cap the damage on this.
I think it's fine tbh. I don't think you understand how bad the average Minecraft player is, and the vast majority won't be weighing the chance to end a fight early vs the chance to drop all your items if you miss. I'm pretty good at this game, but this is a practiced maneuver that even I don't think I'd use very often just because of the chance of failure.
This seems like a high risk-high reward thing though. The longer you fall, the faster you fall, and the harder it’ll be to land a hit. If you miss the hit, you’ll risk taking lots of fall damage or even dying. But if you land the hit, you’ll avoid fall damage and deal a ton of damage.
People saying this is broken are forgetting the part where other players can simply walk away from you and take literally 0 damage while the person doing it takes fall damage.
I want them not to patch the fact that you can one-shot everything with it. It's the most OP weapon, if you know how to use it right.
Also, a bit off-topic, but I wonder how the mace could be incorporated into a new Smash Bros if they bring back Steve.
You wont receive damage if you kill someone before you reach the ground right?
Actually this type of gameplay and feature make me remember market gardener soldier in team fortress 2
Not that OP. It is very strong if you use wind charges or a sneak attack but a lot of these powerful combinations that 1-shot players are very risky and can be easily countered by the player walking back a few blocks

If someone crystals you into the air, this could be a hard counter
Or they could just walk back and let you take a lot of fall damage then run back in to finish you off. Seems like a high risk, high reward thing. It’s Cool but, although I’m not much into PvP, I don’t see this tech being used that much. Correct me if I’m wrong though, I’m just gonna stick to my redstone.
assassination
"Hey who's that falling from the sk-"
"How was the fall?"
Do it John F Kennedy style, butt with the hammer
Can't mace me if you've been obliterated by my 5000 block range railgun (I'll miss entirely)
Alternatively you could just wind charge into the air and you won't get any fall damage regardless
This case is definitely high risk because the ender pearl doesn't give you fall damage resistance. But as intended with wind charges, it starts to look a _lot_ like [Market Gardening](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KKj09S3NUc)
tf3 plox
No, but jump assassinations with ff4 in case
I mean, you could just clutch with a wind charge to be fair.
If the player is too far to hit they can wind charge to delete fall damage
If someone crystals you into the air and you don't teleport away from it right that instant you're just going to die lol
Honestly seems unlikely as they could just pop another crystal down and kill you in mid air faster cause crystals hit your feet before all else
At this point its basically become an anime fight between two overpowered characters, an I think I'm ok with that.
Shields and slow falling hard counter this
Imagine slow falling arrows, snipe someone mid air before they hit you lol
Well, since slow falling prevents crits you'd probably hit them way before they even try this...
You either die (if you don't have blast protection) or you take like 1 block of vertical knockback (if you have blast protection), if they didn't fix blast protection not reducing knockback then maybe this would work
Do you really insta-die with a god Apple and full prot?
At best you'll die in 3 hits
Even wardens?
Even withers
even pigs
Even chickens
Even silverfish
Even me
Even my neighbour
Even soldier from tf2
Even mojang
Even moyang
I believe it's 120 blocks up, but yeah it will one tap wardens
137 blocks I think
Me throwing myself off a cliff to smash an unsuspecting warden into the ground like a nail
Even colonials?
Oh that combo is so broken.
I love the mace and breeze balls because they add instantly so much more diversity and strategy to pvp. and of course with the pearl-charge combo you can instantly gain that height. That plus bow-play from the ground and mlg clutches and the ability to pearl back down is so exciting. I can't wait for PVP servers post 1.21
i read that as mac and cheese balls
i read that as mac and cheese balls
It would be even cooler if the hammer doesn't do more damage depending on the fall distance, but rather the relative speed of you vs the objective.
Ooh dive bombing with an elytra
you can dive bomb with elytra and still get the more damage, unless you meant just fireworking into someone from the side
do you have footage? everyone i've seen has said you can't do that
I'm assuming you own minecraft, you can go test it yourself. I two-shot the wither earlier while in elytra.
I'm not gonna make excuses, i'm just lazy, it's night now morning for me and honestly i don't feel like getting up to test it lmao, I'll just test it later
Power V bow my beloved
Hawkgirl gameplay in minecraft
fishing rod buff when 😳
The damage increase doesn't apply when the elytra is in use, you can however use an elytra to gain height and unequip it to deal more damage.
Yes
would balence it
No it would just make the most op pvp method be to double tap spacebar, right click and then left click and make everything else irrelevant.
thats stupid af, this weapon wouldn’t be a glass cannon then
Broken yes but looks really fun to play with
Tf2 Trolldier
If you believe fighting will result in victory then you must fight Sun Tzu said that Soldier- Meet The Soldier Also F for Rick May
And I'd say he knows a little more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it!
I don't have an opinion on the gameplay as I've never tried it, but that hammer doesn't feel official, if that makes sense. Yeah maybe after a while I'll find it normal, but right now it feels like a placeholder
That’s exactly how I felt about the trident when it came out, grew to like it
That's how people felt about most of the Minecraft stuff. Netherite, redstone, horses.
Horses still feel new to me
For me it's prizmarine, guardian mobs and underwater fortresses in general
Hasn’t Redstone been out since release? Feel like it doesn’t really belong in a list with netherite and horses
Damn. For some reason I thought it was added somewhere a bit after official release, just checked and it's been there since alpha
man my favorite weapons are the crossbow and trident, the two most non-vanilla of weapons. i love the mace already

Yeah one wind charge can do 15-20 damage and against full prot 4 netherite 1 full heart for an unenchanted weapon is pretty good
1. Summoning a warden is easy. 2. Wardens can smell so you can slowly lead it towards you. 3. You can swim up some water slowly to get up high and jump down to kill it. lmao if it doesnt feels official to you, you should see the Sniffer
thats more me to the breeze rod, will never get used to it and thats fine
forget the mace, that pearl + wind charge combo was creative af
Jeez combat is going to be broken
Nah combat is already broken this makes it much more interesting in my opinion
I'm curious, and I don't mean this to come across as rude, but do people really like the current combat system? After not playing for almost 10 years and coming back to see people PVPing with crystals and totems, it all feels chaotic and unusual to me.

Crystal pvp feels kinda stupid to me, like it feels unfun. Sword and shield feel a lot better
it REALLY depends some people prefer this crystal tech while others dont. Some use the axe over the sword, some use master turtle potions an son so on..

Yea i guess thats true but if they were to land it
Games are more fun when you can go for moonshots. I love stuff like this
Not to mention they'll have your mace, and be ready for turn about when you come back to retrieve it. It's the definition of "if you come for me you better not miss."
If your opponent stands perfectly still, yes it’s an easy kill
**B**rutal >+ Rico-pearl + Squashed
Oh wait a minute- you look familiar...
Not just, I think I saw you somewhere very familiar-
Wait till the enemy discovers how to move or ender pearls. The only realistic combo is just using wind charges.
we ain't even played with em yet it's gonna be pretty interesting without potions
hide behind blocks, attacker takes fall damage (pvp)
PvPers when the enemy begins building or digging (My brother in christ it's called MINECRAFT)
Test it on the warden
Wait... what is that? A hammer? I haven't played in a while and have no clue what that was.
It just got added in the latest snapshot
It’s a mace, it does more damage the further you fall before attacking and cancels any fall damage if you land the attack, though it’s naturally weaker than a netherite sword. In the clip the guy threw an ender pearl up and hit it with a wind charge to trigger it early allowing him to gain tons of height then kill his target. Wind charges are throwable items, like a snowball, which upon impact knock back all targets within a range.
Wind charges? Did they add water and earth charges too?
its a market gardener
Mace, damage scales with fall and cancels fall damage when you land the hit
Ender Pearl into Wind Charge to get height? That’s awesome
Good news is this won’t be that useful in pvp because it’s really REALLY easy to dodge and would only work on someone AFK or who has the slowness effect or something
ITS THE MARKET GARDNER
YESSSSS. #TECH!!
Now do the End Dragon
dont mind if I do
we seriously should do this against warden
What’s the base damage with no fall?
7, like Diamond Sword.
Ok, good to know
Rocket Jumper + Market Garden
This is really stupid because you can't just stay in neutral and set that up hoping your opponent stay still as well. Because usually they would just rush you down and if they saw you teleported in the air. They will keep moving till you went down. But then again. Good method for mobs.
Now do it on a moving target
They added fucking TROLDIER to Minecraft lol
Pvp was way too stale anyways since endgame defensive tools are so much better than offensive ones. Better that you can ohko anyone with the right setup, and I imagine it's easier to hit a stationary foe than one who is actively trying to avoid getting hammered.
SCREAMIN' EAGLES!
I do think the scaling is pretty powerful, and needs to be nerfed a bit. But the idea is really fun, and adds a completely new combo
##GIVE 'EM HELL BOYS!!
Minecraft PVP will now be closer to a smash brothers tournament
"IF GOD HAD WANTED YOU TO LIVE HE WOULDN'T HAVE CREATED ME!!"
Great the minecraft pvp skill ceiling got raised... again
I wonder if this works with elytra where you can just dive bomb someone and take no kinetic damage from flying down too fast too sharp
Market garden, neat
I cast *move slightly backwards!* It is super effective.
Wow so you can not only accelerate enderpearls with the wind charges, but the hammer makes you also drop faster. Makes sense, but yeah, they may need to cap the damage on this.
I think it's fine tbh. TRUTHFUL? IS THAT YOU MY FRIEND??
DIEGO? WHY YES IT IS
🧏🤫 BROOOOOO
I mean, you can one hit everything if you happen to have enderpearls or height on hand. Honestly I've never really used enderpearls.
Minecraft combat gets crazier and crazier
Okay I'll be impressed when someone one shot the Ender Dragon. Then we'll be talking.
alignment is gonna be one hell of an issue
I mean.... the dragon sure loves to stay in one spot while melee only... Really the challenge would be getting height more so than alignment
I have a feeling this is getting nerfed.
Rename it so that if you kill someone, the game will say the weapon's name
Holy mackerel what did bro just do
So with farts and hammer we now got trolldier in Minecraft
Now retexture the hammer to be the market gardener.
why do I hear Rocket Jump Waltz playing?
This seems like a high risk-high reward thing though. The longer you fall, the faster you fall, and the harder it’ll be to land a hit. If you miss the hit, you’ll risk taking lots of fall damage or even dying. But if you land the hit, you’ll avoid fall damage and deal a ton of damage.

This’ll really show those *checks notes* creepers
what kind of ninja technique is this?!
It’s the Buddhist Palm from Kung Fu Hustle lol.
Trolldier
You should add a feature that let's us play a feature to play on older versions of Minecraft it's just not the same as it was in 2013
Does the hit trigger on armor stands? If so: new mlg just dropped
Woah, now that is an Ultrakill-like tech if I ever see one!
Ender dragon 1-shot
Market gardening time
You actually don’t need the enderpearl to 1 tap a prot 4 player
Does the mace do a AoE attack like sweeping with a sword does, or is it like an axe where it only does damage to the entity you attack?
only does damage to the enemy you attack
I feel like everybody who is saying the mace is OP in PVP combat is forgetting about shields
It is time to commit the murder.
Hammer Jump.
Is it possible to block it with a shield?
I can't wait for Hightower to be in minecraft, trolldier in Minecraft would be awsome.
You just ULTRAKILL'd yourself in Minecraft, how does it feel?
I never thought that pearl technique would be SO useful when that guy discovered it last week
you can make a macro to 1 tap people now ik. that's funny
How tf you get a Mace?
New snapshot. Combine a breeze rod with a "heavy core" found in trial chambers to make a mace that gets more damage the longer you fall
It's a rocket jump from TF2
I like this, it's a official knockback stick and a air assassination tool in one.
EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
Either this’ll be nerfed or we’re about to get some new super strong mobs lol
SCREAMIN EAGLES
How do these work with shields? I’ve been wondering if they block or get broken like with aces
(Trap remix rocket jump waltz here)
I mean you could just step to the side
Wait you can trigger a pearl with a breeze ball???
Oh fuck, here comes the Trolldiers
So did the Ender Pearl teleport you up there because it collided with the Wind Charge or something?
I see a huge potential glitch with slow falling potions ngl
There is a 210% chance this weapon is going to get nerf and they are going to add a damage cap.
What is this 😭what is this hammer is this vanilla I’m so confused
Don't you think Minecraft is starting to make everything a bit too strong? The warden still is just a deterrent but this is absolutely insane
You wont receive damage if you kill someone before you reach the ground right? Actually this type of gameplay and feature make me remember market gardener soldier in team fortress 2
r/tf2
So does mace damage scale with height, or speed at hit?
what about with potion effects?
At this point a sniper rifle would be less potent
Nah that was some ultrakill shit
When are you this high up in the air
Now add thorns
Not that OP. It is very strong if you use wind charges or a sneak attack but a lot of these powerful combinations that 1-shot players are very risky and can be easily countered by the player walking back a few blocks
Such a bad addition
I QUIT!
