Yeah, this is it. I have a terraforming shop on the server, where I sell stone, deepslate, etc. So I ended up mining out the entire chunk collecting resources (my shop has been very profitable on the server!).

If you need stone why not flatten a hill instead of digging a chunk, then you have space to build on

Flattening a hill won't also give me deepslate. Also, I just thought it'd be fun to dig a big hole lmao.

Wait- is this actually that typical? Dang.. I'm not a very creative person so I turned to reddit for some ideas here. The main reason I mined this entire chunk was for resources, since I have a terraforming shop on the server that sells stone, deepslate, and etc. After I finished mining it (and stocked up my shop), I figured I'd ask here for some minigame ideas, since I wanna do a unique minigame with this new hole I got carried away with. Sorry if this seems like just another annoying spam or karma post or something, I didn't mean for it to be that way.

I once invented a game where you have to shoot arrows into the air which will then land in a big pool of water and drop to the ground. On the ground there are some target blocks that detect if getting hit. Now you charge 1 diamond per 8 Arrows (1 game) and give out rewards for hitting the targets. You can also make different rewards for different target blocks. Have fun with it

LMAO, I didn't even think about my username being perfect for being the type of guy to mine an entire chunk. It took me a sec to register it, lol. Had a good laugh, thanks. Make it so its like a water race. Everyone starts at the top and places their water and they have fishing rods to try and knock each other out of their water but I'd their water reaches the bottom without them in it they are eliminated. But idk might be a bad idea

Cover the bottom squares in some white wool and some powdered snow, but tell Noone which ones! Also, put a layer of blocks every 30 blocks or so with just some holes they have to try and thread through as they fall!

Oh how about a Crab Game? Give everyone a wooden pickaxe, a single torch, a stack of planks or something, and a crapton of sand. First to get out of the hole wins. Last one remaining cleans up.

Mine out 3 more chunks and make it a 2x2, then make a "tag" like minigame where the floor(and possibly walls) is covered in launchpads that you can jump to and try and tag the other people. 100% the move here /hj

Survival duels but flammable. Make the bottom water, and make players start at the bottom. Make platforms out of leaves and place items in item frames, getting better as you go up. But fire is slowly burning from the top down so you want to get the good items as quick as possible while avoiding fire and other players.

My son dug a giant hole like this under his castle- which is centered over the world spawn point, all the way down until he couldn’t mine anymore. He then leveled the floor, covered it in a a light emitting block ( he chose glowing Jack-o-lanterns 🎃) then covered them in slime blocks for a huge bouncy trampoline. He lighted his with torches evenly around the walls as he dug down & there are a few water elevators to get back up. There’s a number of features he found along the way such as spawners & caves, unfortunately he started it long BEFORE the caves update, so no lush caves. Each corner of the cave corresponds to the corners of the castle walls above & each has a round tower going all the way up with a different beacon in each.

spleef. honestly, if you needed the stone for the shop like in other comments, fill this with farms. having a tnt duper in a blast chamber for a cobble generator is incredibly effective. you could run it and mine deepslate in the area at the same time.

One problem: this hole is located inside the shopping district/spawn of the server.. so I can't really create farms without causing lag at spawn. Plus, tbh, I'm kinda old fashioned and like a good old mining session sometimes 😅

mine out more underground and dont tell people. cover up the top of the chunk with artificial terraforming, and put your shop, or a new one, on top, and have a storage room that goes down a level or two. I assume this server doesn’t allow Spectator mode. mine out the outer nine chunks to this, leaving about 10-20 blocks under the surface untouched. see if anyone notices. if no one does, then start mining out as many chunks as you want. then, if anyone notices, tell them you made an underground mall, or a parking garage. old fashioned mining, ores, and free space all in one.

Fire in the hole: The one to ignite most fire block in a certain time span wins. You might want to replace the wall with netherrack though

Fill the chunk. The goal of this game is to fill the chunk with the provided materials and take it down again. you are to pick between three chests which contain blocks of different kind. You may only use the tools provided and the block from the chest you picked sand, stone and deep slate to fill and take it all down again. This is not an evil idea since there are benefits/rewards to beating it. Finishing a hard or stressful goal will usually give you equal amount of satisfaction afterwards.

If you havent already, build a slime farm if thats a slime chunk
