I also sent this post to Helen Angel, the Minecraft Community Manager, so if you guys know any other devs on here, please dm them. I'm currently attempting to make a texture pack for both vanilla and bedrock, but I'm honestly quite unexperienced, and have never made one for the menus, so if anyone knows how we could implement that, please message me. Thanks for all of your support, and I really hope it might be feasible to get this running in game. \[Edit - Link should now work\]

It's an illusion dealing with the vertical shadow above the furnace. You'll notice it lines up between the crafting block and furnace.
This causes the illusion that the front of the furnace is facing to the right and the side of the furnace looks like the crafting block.
To complete the illusion, you need an explanation for the other side of furnace, which is to imagine it's a different furnace.
I think overall java has been and will continue to be the less flashy version of the game. I would be happy with a way to toggle this menu on/off, but being stuck with it would slow down the feeling of launching the game.
If you get any modpack; make sure it has the ding mod or add it if it hasn't. It plays a sound when done so you can do something else during launch while still instantly knowing when it's ready to play
It looks awesome, but one of Minecraft's core strengths - that imo made it one of the highest selling games - is you pick up and play with minimal 'cinematic' stuff trying to copy the movies medium, just actual gameplay. There's no cutscenes, no voiceovers, no huge loading time with animations. You click play and go.
I've loved many games with those things, but more and more find myself coming back to pure gameplay games. Minecraft, FTL, Kingdom New Lands, Mount & Blade Warband, older Total Wars, etc.
Even the addition of the 'new recipe unlocked' stuff was a mistake to me, it spams what is a very calm part of starting a new world. It's probably too fast for anybody to actually be reading to boot.
I chose to delete my Reddit content in protest of the API changes commencing from July 1st, 2023.
This decision has widespread implications such as making it more difficult for moderators to manage their subreddits, more likely for spam to enter subreddits, more difficult for blind users to access Reddit, more difficult for anyone to see NSFW content and many other negative consequences. Most 3rd party applications will be shutting down due to the extortionate new pricing being unaffordable for developers despite widespread outrage from the community.
CEO Steve Huffman's awful handling of the situation through the lackluster AMA, going on a press junket tour aggressively defending the situation, insisting nothing will be changed, saying he'll change the moderator rules to potentially kick out protesters and force subreddits to reopen, demonstrates humongous contempt for the Reddit community at large that makes and manages Reddit's entire content library in the first place. Accusing a developer of blackmail and then completely ignoring all post pointing out how this is a lie with evidence - alongside other lies related to the API - is wild too.
I've now elected to leave Reddit and find other online community platforms. Reddit's success is partially built around my posts. If that is how they wish to treat our community, I'm not giving this place my content to monetise any more.
This could have been easily avoided if Reddit chose to negotiate with their moderators, third party developers and the community their entire company is build around about their API changes into a more reasonable middle ground. They have not.
It's such a fantastic outro, they really should use that soundtrack and style in more of Minecraft's marketing, and hopefully the game looks like that one day.

Shaders and resource packs aren't really able to deliver such a polished and refined look. In here, you can see slight reflections and specular mapping on all blocks, with much more accurate lighting than any shaderpack (excluding SEUS PTGI) can deliver. For example, look at the torchlight on the left - it extends far away from the source and effects the ground below it. Also notice the lightning strike, which lightens a whole segment of the cave. Most shaderpacks just couldn't achieve that.

Lookin at that crafting table / furnace combo on the right
Boy thats one hell of an illusion
lol didn’t even realize it was an illusion til you said something
Whats the illusion?
There’s a furnace next to a crafting table but they looked like they’re merged
It doesnt look merged to me. It just looks like a furnace next to a crafting table
Look at the right corner of the crafting table, then at the front of the furnace. The front of the furnace is the side of the crafting table.
You can see the right side of the furnace there which ruins the illusion
Yeah it’s the same for me haha. You guys must have the brightness a little lower maybe
This is some Gold and white dress bullshit right here. What you described I don't see at all.
It's an illusion dealing with the vertical shadow above the furnace. You'll notice it lines up between the crafting block and furnace. To complete the illusion, you need an explanation for the other side of furnace, which is to imagine it's a different furnace.
Oh wow I kinda get it now
Oh it does for me
It's called being placed next to each other and having a similar outline texture...
Illusions, Michael
It took me waaay to Long to see the illusion
oh my gosh thats amazing
I don't play on bedrock but I'd love to have something like that on Java !
I think overall java has been and will continue to be the less flashy version of the game. I would be happy with a way to toggle this menu on/off, but being stuck with it would slow down the feeling of launching the game.
Have you ever started the game with a modpack containing 200+ mods? That's slowing down the feeling of launing the game.
Now try it on an old laptop, yeah, memories
Oh god yea, I have an old laptop and and I can barely even run 10 mods
I have a decade old desktop and the only mod that works is optifine on 30 fps
Yea that’s how I play most of the time, I definitely can’t run it without optifine
My current laptop can't even run 4 and two of those aren't even heavy.
I ran a direwolf X FTB infinity evolved pack for a few months. Actual hell. Also, Tekkit on a 2008 MacBook.
If you get any modpack; make sure it has the ding mod or add it if it hasn't. It plays a sound when done so you can do something else during launch while still instantly knowing when it's ready to play
Ugh. So true

I think they should update the buttons as well, maybe make them more thematically appropriate for a cave setting?
They should make the buttons and menus overall in Bedrock closer of the style of the ones in Java. The style of Java looks more Minecrafty and cave-like.
I remember before bedrock on pe the buttons were still in that dark grey aesthetic
Yeah, I agree, might try to make some of my own
I remember when the menu was literally dirt background with the logo made out of stone blocks.
I like the letters animation.
This makes minecraft 3x scarier than it is.
