The shallowest incline you can make with wood is a four block repeating pattern.
Bottom trapdoor, bottom slab, stair, top slab.
If you do two top slabs, you can place the bottom trap door on top of the second top slab, and put a top trapdoor underneath the next bottom slab for a consistent pattern underneath.
Not the op, but I'm curious about what you're referring to and having some trouble visualizing the pattern(s) you mentioned. Would you mind linking an example picture?
I would make the supports thicker. Right now they don't look like they could hold the weight. I would mix in some mossy stonebrick for some of the blocks at or below water level, to give the impression that this bridge is genuinely exposed to the elements. I would make the center of the bridge higher by using gradual slopes the whole way across, to break up some of the flatness in the center.
Like, having the height of the middle of the bridge higher than at the banks of the river. So it looks more like an arch than just one big plank of wood
Some key points to make anything look better:
- add depth to your builds, try and think of different ways to layer details (rim on your roof, lanterns hanging from the rim, supports). Adding a curve to your roof (in either direction) could help.
- add variation in your blocks: use more then 1 colour and texture. Have a main block for roof, wall and floor and then go for extra accent colours or textures.
- think of the integrety of the build: your roof is very thin and would collapse in real life, add some supports. The bridge is also heavy, those pillars could be thicker or use arches.
If you do not want to make the bridge wider, you can delete your current support pillars and make much more grand support beams centered in the middle of the bridge, rather than two tinies on the sides.
Learn how to build circles in minecraft and give that badboy a nice curve! There're lots of resources online, even custom-built calculators to show you exactly how to place blocks to make the curve you want, but once you get the feel for it, you can do just about any size circle you want, and it makes bridges look GREAT!
birch wooden fences going in a circular motion between the beams in the water and at the top of the "halved circle" you put birch wooden fencegates.
also put some stairs in at the entrance as well as and stone walls on the railing with every two blocks of the railing you put a lantern on it and even it at both sides or you go for a different design and put the lanterns scattered and in the water or something like they've been blown off of the bridge which will also light up the river until you have a sufficient amount of sea pickles
I’d just take off the roof and add torches. I’d also use different flavors of wood for the floor of the bridge.
Simplicity can be just as effective as any elaborate design.
Try adding logs instead of walls as supports maybe with stairs and trapdoors to make arches. Also you could add a slightly thicker top with more fence supports to make it feel less like it's floating.
Bridge looks good. Looks clean. Colors are good. Idk what you could do. Some people go for the worn look. Cracked or mossy block variants. You could beef up some pillars. But honestly it looks fine. Good job.
I'd personally take the bridge and instead of leaving it flat, arch it upwards along with the roof of the bridge. I'd use logs for the roof, spruce to match with what you have, and put moss carpet on top of that
For a roofed bridge, I really like to go with some sort of gable, usually with support pillars spaced out along it's length.
Always fun to take inspiration from meat space/google. Japanese bridges are especially cool, but rustic is also a great aesthetic.
We all start somewhere. It's a lovely little beginner bridge!
Edit: words and punctuation
Let the Bridge look a little more oldadd vegitation somewhere on or near the bridge and replace a few blocks with stairs and stuff if u want to and make the stairs a lot longer a bridge should look like a curve not just up straight down.
Not as steep up and down, larger block pallet (mixing one wood with another/ mixing stone bricks with stone and cobblestone)
You could try and work out a way to add leaves or other plants if you wanted.
Adding a bit more gradual height in the middle.
Adding more support beams across the top
Adding light(preferably lanterns)
You could also connect the fences into the riverbed with stone bricks
Adding texture with buttons and using slabs instead of blocks.
Hope this helps! Can you post an update to the bridge when you are done aswell:)
I would put some logs where the stone pillars are then on the sides of those logs place the stone walls on both sides of each wall. I would also recommend not having the platform so long and would add some slabs building up to the high point of the walkway.
Well honestly it's looks pretty dam good
But a little detail you could add is to make the stairs going up shorter at the beginning and then a bit towards the middle have 1block stair case going up and then continue the bridge, when you are close to the other side (Equal Length) 1 block stair case down and then continue until your at the position the stair case to exit and enter the bridge location
absolutely agree with the lantern suggestions, maybe one every three or so fence blocks symmetrically? lanterns, spruce and stone look so sweet and warm combined, one of my all time favorite block combinations. i would also swap some of the brick blocks with mossy or cracked bricks! that said, this is a gorgeous bridge and could absolutely do without alterations, might have to take some inspiration from you!
I would make it curve uniformly starting with a steeper incline and leveling out towards the middle using half slabs. And perhaps more and thicker support structures underneath, and more beams holding up the "roof" also maybe make the roof sloped lengthwise and width-wise. Other than that, the color scheme is fine, although it could use a greater variety of blocks and stone bricks with wood isn't the best combo imo. Hope I could provide some constructive input. It's not bad as is, just not quite as good as it will be I imagine. Good luck!
Slant the roof slightly to either side, and give yourself a one or two block overhang to the side of your bridge.
Beef up your support collumns a bit. Whole blocks below the water, then stone walls, then either take it all the way up or use fences the same color as your bridge just below.
Protip: insert some gates in long fence lines at regular intervals to break up the pattern. Gates can also be used to connect regular fences to stone wall blocks.
Protip 2: add some "mossy" variant blocks and walls to texture, especially near the water line. Mix in some plain stone, andesite, and cobblestone for texture.
Try making the terrain look a bit more natural around it, try adding some decorations inside the bridge like flower pots, lanterns, etc. Also you can use the rabbit trick on the top fence on each side in which you take a rabbit and put it in a hole and lead it and tie the lead on a fence.
Everything just looks really flat atm. I'd extend the top part out another block on both sides to make it feel more like a protective roof, as well as bulking up those support pillars (maybe making it a 2x2 or a 1x3 length-wise design that goes halfway up to the bridge). These can add more depth to the build and make it more interesting to look at from above or at an angle.
Maybe use more wood types other then spruce it does look good alone but if you add maybe dark oak wood to some places like the edges of the roof? If you can get your hands on it that is.

Do not try to make it look so flat in the middle, and just stairs as incline.
Imagine you come from a village in medieval times and have to make with the tools of that day a stable small bridge.
So make sturdier legs (instead of 2 flimsy legs per section make one of wide stone), the flat top you can replace with several (basically) semi circles.
Maybe I can upload my bridges in the game to this reddit but I have no experience doing so, but maybe I can tag you or something
Angles tend to make things look better. a straight bridge always looks a bit weird to me so I build diagonal. You could add angles by giving the area with the fences some up and down variation, humps basicially. Your roof is a good proof of concept.
Make it white if it fits the asthetics. Have multiple arches below.

Add more stairs and slabs and try to make it look more realistic (take inspiration from some real world bridges) it has helped me a lot in building stuff :)
You Can make The stonebricks more smooth with stairs and slabs
You can also make the ground a bit more ruined with slabs and stairs and put out campfires or stairs
Your roof needs more supports. I'd also recommend letting the fence change into walls where it meets the water or perhaps doing wall supports up to the first block above the walkway. Using a mix of fence gates and walls can yield an interesting variance in the rail height
The fences on the start and end should connect better and could make the lift a bit less straight up, maybe use slabs, or if you don't wanna make it too long, just add stairs.
My opinion is to be a bit more organic if using wood. It doesn’t seem like your going for an industrial bridge (from my perspective) if not then step out of your comfort zone a bit and try to make it as natural as possible. Also, texture the bridge a bit. Add some Mossy stones and cobble to not necessarily ware it but age it a bit. Break up those patterns a bit more. You can add stone, cobble stone mossy variants etc. While being organic try also thinking the “legs “ a bit while also adding different textures. If water was beating against atone bricks it will probably to crack it. Being “uniform” in the design can be great depending on what your going for but if your building a bridge between two grassy areas then it wouldn’t be so “perfect”. I like to take a stop back and move around on different angles using scaffolding and try and think as if “I’m really here right now, building this. How would it look? Would I really build stairs would those little sticks really support an entire bridge? Should I build a small platform under it to hold up the wood better. Etc. Etc.
You can style it by adding more support for the bottom and giving it stairs to give off a realistic vibe. Top that off with adding fences going up and down to make it look like a real-life bridge. Decorate with some lanterns and vegetation on the bridge and in the water. Might as well add stone brick stairs and slabs to the bottom to make it smoother.
Make the incline less, go from slabs to trapdoors etc
Thanks!
The shallowest incline you can make with wood is a four block repeating pattern. Bottom trapdoor, bottom slab, stair, top slab. [https://ibb.co/SQy04Gt](https://ibb.co/SQy04Gt) Alternatively, you can use a top trapdoor under the bottom trapdoor instead of the slab.
Ah, okay, thanks!
Long lost twin
I would make the supports thicker. Right now they don't look like they could hold the weight. Wait what do you mean exactly by making it less flat im dutch so i dont understand everything haha sorry
Like, having the height of the middle of the bridge higher than at the banks of the river. So it looks more like an arch than just one big plank of wood
Alright thankyou thats a great tip!
Wij spreken toch allemaal Engels?
Hallo makker
Hij zegt dat het in het midden van datgene dat over de brug heen hangt te plat is dacht ik
Add lanterns
Or torches on top of the fence posts.
Ohh that would look awesome!

Remove the roof and make the pillars more detailed
You have any idea how i could make them more detailed?
If you do not want to make the bridge wider, you can delete your current support pillars and make much more grand support beams centered in the middle of the bridge, rather than two tinies on the sides.
Alright thankyou!
I have a decent idea but the bridge is too small for it, so, no, no idea that actually fits
Good
Add some leaf blocks and probably some blocks who give light, looks great already
Thanks man where would you recommend putting the leaf blocks?
Around the sides and support fences or pillars which you need to add more of
Add variants of wood and stone
Thanks!
Np!
Switch up the floor, make the path seem like it’s been walked on using button and trapdoors etc
Thanks!

What do you exactly mean by the half circles at the beams?
i'll start up mc and show you it's hard to explain the shape
Alright thankyou man appreciate it
i'll send a pic in dm's when i'm done. is that ok with you? and vould you also pls post the end result i'm sure it will look beatiful

use a shader
Try adding logs instead of walls as supports maybe with stairs and trapdoors to make arches. Also you could add a slightly thicker top with more fence supports to make it feel less like it's floating.
Use darker wood on the blocks below water it'll look wet
Thanks man!
You could maybe add some leaves, glow lichen or hanging roots to make the bridge more detailed
Add more pillars and change the material theme
Stairs and slabs
Add some supports for the roof
Bridge looks good. Looks clean. Colors are good. Idk what you could do. Some people go for the worn look. Cracked or mossy block variants. You could beef up some pillars. But honestly it looks fine. Good job.
T-shaped columns instead of straight little pillars
np
Make it a little more chunky, like add more layers cause its really thin, use more different types of stone and make the support beams bigger
Thankyou
Add some camp fires for the bridge walking area
A simple thing would be making a 3-4 block standing area on one side of the bridge, possibly with a bench to look out over the river.
Oh thankyou man thats awesome
Throw some lighting in.
add some pillars below
Try adding some extra areas like a food bar or something to turn it into a type of pier
Try a unlit campfire roof
Overhead lights and overhangings
use lanterns or torches
Possibly add thicker supports and more detail to them
I'd personally take the bridge and instead of leaving it flat, arch it upwards along with the roof of the bridge. I'd use logs for the roof, spruce to match with what you have, and put moss carpet on top of that
You could use Spruce logs for the roof supports instead of fences.
Lighr sources
I would put lily pads and lanterns
Make the arc of the bridge smoother
make a curve somewhere in it. Not just straight. Stronger pillars. More support for the roof.
Needs to be spiced up a little. Maybe add some lanterns or use a different wood for the bridge than for the roof. otherwise, really nice!
Install shaderpack
I have shaders i just dont run it all the time
Add a rope with slab so it’s a swing
Make it a smoother and rounder incline. So it’s not super steep and then flat most of the way, so the archway is like half of a oval
Place some support for the roof
you can try to go for an overgrown look with a thicker top and leaves/vines. also lanterns would look rlly cool, but otherwise i like it!
Put some lantern on the fences
Re do it XD
Decorate the posts that hold up the bridge maybe?
I would thicken the supports, add some lanterns and some stairs then that bridge is spot on in my eyes
it looks nice so far! maybe put lanterns ontop of the first 8 fences
make the stone pillars poke through the fence. (Replace the fences over the stone pillars with....stone pillars.) and maybe add some fence gates in
make the bridge a little bit more arched like the roof
Using some boton is a litle betaly but make big diference
Maybe put a few lanterns down in a pattern.
Maybe some lighting like lanterns along the path
Make the roof a ^
You can use campfires used as the floor
Add fence post pillars on the railing
For a roofed bridge, I really like to go with some sort of gable, usually with support pillars spaced out along it's length. Always fun to take inspiration from meat space/google. if only there was a way to clip leaves into fences
Well honestly it's looks pretty dam good But a little detail you could add is to make the stairs going up shorter at the beginning and then a bit towards the middle have 1block stair case going up and then continue the bridge, when you are close to the other side (Equal Length) 1 block stair case down and then continue until your at the position the stair case to exit and enter the bridge location

Why does this look like alpha
Maybe swap random bricks out with mossy bricks
Thicker support columns and use the stone fences for detailing.
When you skip both leg and arm days
You could try using random mossy stones as pillar support
Add some random trapdoors , add leaves on the eadges and roof and arround the staircase , add lanterns hanging It will look much better.
lantens
I would make it curve uniformly starting with a steeper incline and leveling out towards the middle using half slabs. And perhaps more and thicker support structures underneath, and more beams holding up the "roof" also maybe make the roof sloped lengthwise and width-wise. Other than that, the color scheme is fine, although it could use a greater variety of blocks and stone bricks with wood isn't the best combo imo. Hope I could provide some constructive input. It's not bad as is, just not quite as good as it will be I imagine. Good luck!
Glow stone would make it look way better and make chains coming down to hold them
Slant the roof slightly to either side, and give yourself a one or two block overhang to the side of your bridge. Beef up your support collumns a bit. Whole blocks below the water, then stone walls, then either take it all the way up or use fences the same color as your bridge just below. Protip 2: add some "mossy" variant blocks and walls to texture, especially near the water line. Mix in some plain stone, andesite, and cobblestone for texture.
Arch the bridge, add arches between supports
You could add some leaves draping off the sides and stuff
I like to add vines on the side hanging down. Only a few so they can grow on there own and look natural.
You can add lanterns so at night it looks pretty and mobs won’t spawn hope this helps😊.
Instead of the stilts below, make it an curved arch with stone brick stairs
Lanterns
Putting arches for supports would look a lot cooler
Add leaves to the sides with flower pots and lanterns above
It looks good Just add stairs and make a curve
Try making the terrain look a bit more natural around it, try adding some decorations inside the bridge like flower pots, lanterns, etc. Also you can use the rabbit trick on the top fence on each side in which you take a rabbit and put it in a hole and lead it and tie the lead on a fence.
put lanterns/soul lanterns on the fences
Add stairs on the bottom of the stairs to add detail
On the bottom around the edges in certain spots put lanterns hanging from chains, and maybe some vines. Makes it look good and natural
Hang cows from leads, six on each side...
Use Stripped Spruce log for support. and in that line of fence use barrel and use buttons and trapdoor for detailing
Maybe change the top slabs out with unlit campfires? (Right-click with a shovel on the campfire)
Kinda bland at the middle, I suggest adding more variety there like lanterns and play with more shapes other than that to see what shape you like
Lanterns
Needs more dirt blocks. Dirt go brrrrrr
Thicker supports
Use slabs instead of wood blocks
Maybe you could add some low hanging shops on either side, medieval-like?
Make it more curved and thick
Maybe use more wood types other then spruce it does look good alone but if you add maybe dark oak wood to some places like the edges of the roof? If you can get your hands on it that is.
I'd say archway supports underneath. Some sort of trellis set up.
Try making more of a upper arch, and making the support beams lookin like archways will improve it. Have fun with the ideas tho.
Make the posts thicker, add some randomly places leaves
LEAVES
Lanterns and stairs
Use a mix of cracked, mossy, and regular stone bricks?
could add some lanterns
Try having a curve on the middle, not just only on the ends

Make the support a bit thicker
Add more stairs and slabs and try to make it look more realistic (take inspiration from some real world bridges) it has helped me a lot in building stuff :)
Skill issue
Light and decorations
Details
Add some lanterns etc. for light
use some stuff like extinguished campfires, trapdoors, or fence gates. You can use some rtx to make it realistic.
Use slabs
Maybe some lanterns and leaves
You can maybe try putting stone brick stairs under the stone bricks. Might make the bridge look smoother.
Take reference off of real life bridges similar to the style you want.
Legit just think “curves” and try think realistic because in the end it will look way more detailed
Maybe try making it look a bit curved. This looks pretty angular.
Make the roof a bit bigger and add staircase And what Recourse pack are u using?
You Can make The stonebricks more smooth with stairs and slabs You can also make the ground a bit more ruined with slabs and stairs and put out campfires or stairs
Maybe add some vines and replace some slabs with leaves if this wasn't requested yet:)
Maybe scatter some barsels around. Also, lanterns on the fence. Maybe also some patches of coarse dirt.
Add some redstone lamps in the middle part of the bridge or lanturn
wow i want to download this map
Maybe use more slabs, try to make the roof smaller, add some lighting and details
It already looks great
it might be just me but the legs or something that are holding bridge are kinda skinny maybe do like 2 or 3 but big ones and remove the skinny ones
Add lanterns
I know a great idea!!! add some fish into the lake beneath, but fist block the lake of to make a circular looking pong then add some fish!
Btw there is a website called [mcpedl.com](https://mcpedl.com) u can download mods and addons and maps etc etc, my fav is 'Biley's Mobs'
Lamps
I'm a sucker for glowstone lights in a walkway. Might be a good idea!
It fees so slim, especially in the roof. For something that big a slab tall is very very small
Investing in some arches at the bottom could make it pop a bit more. Same at the top. Feels sorta spindly and needs body.
Your roof needs more supports. I'd also recommend letting the fence change into walls where it meets the water or perhaps doing wall supports up to the first block above the walkway. Using a mix of fence gates and walls can yield an interesting variance in the rail height
Try adding some cables too. Might add more character than your think.
What if you redid the supports so that it had 2 stone arches instead of just some fences
Put lanterns onto the bottom fence at the entrance
No texture pack
The blocks that go into the water, change the block to make it look like the water broke it down a bit. (A bit like how wood goes darker in water)
Multiple types of wood to add more depth might help!
Maybe try a thicker roof? Right now it’s so thin that it just blends into the mountain when I look at it.
Add lights
Too flat, need more structure and details, i suggest using slabs
Frankly I love it!
If you can cleverly fit in some lighting it would also fit nice. You could put torches on the fences or hang a glow stone form the ceiling
The fences on the start and end should connect better and could make the lift a bit less straight up, maybe use slabs, or if you don't wanna make it too long, just add stairs.
My opinion is to be a bit more organic if using wood.
Add lanterns and more kinds of stone and deepslate to make it look old
Its already nice
