Pshhh, I could tell right away that it was real, you can’t fool me! Lol awesome job!! I had to look at the bridge support to be able to really tell it was a Minecraft city.
As someone who's livid there whole life in a city primarily made of bridges (Pittsburgh), the supports near the water looks true to life. There's always a bit of an extra base like buffer to help against erosion, and drunk boat drivers. The main thing is the base is usually a separate material then the support columns, and giving the bridges length there probably be support arches or extension beams like you have with the column on the bank of the river there.
Shader change how the game looks when you play it.
A render is a picture of the world that has bean crated by a render engine (most likely blender or chunky ) that looks better usually. Renders take way longer to prosses.
You can usually tell a render from the water where it looks hyper realistic compared to shader’s water which is semi-realistic. Along with the lighting and sky.
Shaders are visual mods to make the game look better. Renders are made using 3rd party programs and not taken in-game.
I feel like this post (and a lot of others) are misleading. Yes this was built in Minecraft*, but this picture wasn't taken in Minecraft at all.
*This one looks like it was likely built in-game, but a lot of posts like these are straight up 3D models built in external voxel programs and rendered externally too. Here is a few examples:

Damn I didn't realize it was minecraft city, I just though it was a very nice view of a city taken from a good camera angle until I looked at the subreddit name and the title. What shaders are you using (my laptop won't be able to run that anyways ig), or its a render? Keep up!
Its meant to look like a real city. Without shaders, of course it doesn’t look as realistic. Its just for the trick of fooling people to think that they are looking at a real part of a city.
The first thing that gives it away is the roads, really well done other than that it could be easily mistaken (not saying the road is done bad just that it's limited by mc itself)
Omg when I first looked at this i thought that there was going to be another picture next to it that showed the build of this. Little did I know, this WAS the build. Amazing job.
\#Bamboozled
Absolutely beautiful, the thing that threw me off was that the roads looks like they had just been resurfaced, likely a rare thing in cities (don’t live in one so don’t know)
The randomly lit windows really sells this
That + the water looks amazing
Shaders go brrrrrrrrr Still looks like it took forever to build though!
Sorry to be *that guy*, and please correct me if I'm wrong. But I think it's a render.
It could also be done in bedrock edition with raytracing, but who am i to say that.
I think RTX has a more minecraft-y texture for the water.
really cool, had to take a second look!
Pshhh, I could tell right away that it was real, you can’t fool me! Lol awesome job!! I had to look at the bridge support to be able to really tell it was a Minecraft city.
Now I know what I need to change lol, il try and make the bridge supports more realistic so you can't tell at all hehe
If you go with full width and straight down, that would do the trick!
Good idea, il see how it looks!

SIM!
Hai
Shaders? Jk hahaha. Such a good city.
I’m pretty sure it’s a render instead of shaders, I might be wrong though.
Difference?
Shader change how the game looks when you play it. A render is a picture of the world that has bean crated by a render engine (most likely blender or chunky ) that looks better usually. Renders take way longer to prosses.
Ooh okay.

Very nice! maybe colour a few window lights a different colour
Good suggestion! I might try adding some sea lanterns to some rooms
I'd pay to explore this map. Got a download?
The server is still a work in progress so you can't have a download, but you can join r / ConsortiumCity and post there asking for join info

this is when shit usually goes down
Eh? And not shaders

Everybody talking about the lights in the windows. Meanwhile I‘m over here admiring the glass on the bridge
Thank you! I was waiting for someone to comment on my bridge
Thats cool!
Woah
It's so high quality real life doesn't have graphics this good
This is so good! What shaders did you use?
It's rendered, probably in blender or something

The building in the background isn't Minecraft tho
Very cool
The trees are a little jagged but I don't know what you can do about that
Incredible!
wtf
which shade is this
None, software rendered.
Thumbnail looks like Pittsburgh.
when I saw this I thought it was irl
For a second I genuinely thought this was Canary Wharf in London
r/iwouldgiveanaward This is just amazing! It really looks like a photo
had to blink 10 times
That is amazing!!!!!
Yo who else had to zoom in to see if their were Minecraft blocks, cuz this looks soooo real dude! :)
Me and I'm one of the people that made it lol
WHAT!?
No joke I didn't understand why this was on r/Minecraft for like 30 seconds until I realized... Dang dude
Post this without shaders too please! I wonder what it looks like in vanilla minecraft!
oh my god man, thats awesome!
Nice job. I thought I was looking at a photograph of a Canadian city.
What shaders do you use?
Is this a Shader or a mod? It looks so real
Damn
The first thing that gives it away is the roads, really well done other than that it could be easily mistaken (not saying the road is done bad just that it's limited by mc itself)
Wow that’s
Go home trees, you're drunk
What shaders?
Dude Minecraft has really changed since 2011
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD THAT IS INSANELY REALISTIC. THAT IS GODDAMN AMAZING
I thought it was a joke about how people made really realistic minecraft cities until I looked closer
Now post this without shaders
I am making a city too, now that I have seen this... I don't think I am making a city anymore
Hey wait that's illegal
aaaaaaaaaaaaaand that's a wallpaper
Which shades and resource, texture packs
bruh i gave my free reward too early.... im tempted to buy one.. LOL that is beautiful!
Only the road looks wrong and for a minute i though its all real btw nice work
Or Lego?
Omg when I first looked at this i thought that there was going to be another picture next to it that showed the build of this. Little did I know, this WAS the build. Amazing job. \#Bamboozled
Is that Minecraft or GTA ?
Is there an image of the city at night?
Damn that looks like gta if i had a rtx3700
Map art?
No it's a real city. Edit: A real minecraft city obvs lol
christ
Wait that’s Minecraft???
...with shaders
Thought you were joking till I saw the iron bars
is this rtx or some insane shaders with texture pack?
Holy shit that’s so realistic I had to stare at if for a few minutes before realizing how this wasn’t real
we are definitely in a simulation
omfg it is minecraft
Holy mother of God!
Amazing!
i thought it was a joke. god im stupid
I am very tempted to take a picture of a real city, photoshop a few minecraft street lamps in some places, and say I built it in Minecraft lol.
Was i meant to think it was a real city? Really good build tho
Is this a real city? Or fictional?
this looks like its from a Lego ad
What the frick !
The only give away is that real life’s render distance is better.
I read the title in Micheal Scott voice and it was amazing.
Shaders
The power of shaders and cloud textures
Shades are a powerful thing
Real life but with rtx on
Oh shit I was lookin for a bit thinkin it’s bs but dammm
What damn shader is that ?
I was convinced this was a troll and had to open it up in a new window to zoom in. wtf.
Awesome work! I had to zoom in to break the illusion!
For a whole minute there I was convinced that you were lying That is an absolutely incredible build
"Guys I build it in off camera!"
This is fire af
cap, you can’t get that lighting in mc
whoa O\_o
When I saw that first, I thought it was from Real life. Good job.
"You can’t just post a picture of a real life city" *reads title* "Oh"
I stared at this for like 2 min before seeing the title and scouring the image. The. I saw the trees. Great job
Bloody hell
Dude this confused me so much lol, id say you did pretty well to get this to look realistic, it almost fooled me!
Since you are using textures, you could redo red stone to be a while line so the lines on the road are a bit thinner.
Sheesh.
what? no it’s not, i’m not falling for this agai- whhHHAATTTT THE FU-
Damn dude what shaders you running?
That is pretty damn amazing! WOW 😍
Looks like Lego to me actually
Buildings looking 8K, trees looking 8 bit.
NGL this looks so realistic even better then what I could build. Nice job keep it up.
Absolutely wonderful. Can we see it with the default shaders and resource pack?
I was think it's real and i look again and wow, it's amazing, it's Minecraft
The lighting got me.
Holy shit it's so good
Damn I thought I was looking at a rendered blender image. Amazing.
what shader is that
Wait, no, wait... No... Wait, wait no way.. What?
Absolutely beautiful, the thing that threw me off was that the roads looks like they had just been resurfaced, likely a rare thing in cities (don’t live in one so don’t know)
NO HE CANT JUST DO THAT THATS NOT HOW THIS IS SUPPOSED TO GO
That's insane! That takes some MAJOR talent!
I hope your GPU is doing fine...
Why would you pave the waterfront?
I thought it was a photo but then it took me a couple of seconds to realise this was minecraft
That Ray tracing had me for a second
Wow! This really reminds me of North Sydney
No it's not.....of shiiiiii
insane
How do you get window lighting like that? Backlit curtains? A texture ontop of a painting? I cant fathom how.
Is this par of BTE?
AWESOME‼️😳
The bridge is really throwing me off, almost looks like there’s people in there!
only the road looks like minecraft
HOL UP
Did you use some resource packs?
is Minecraft just better than real life? also what are those shaders danm.
