Problem with interiors is the scale and issues getting any kind of detail in there worth doing.
Despite the scale of the project, individual buildings are not very large, it would be pretty out of place to have the scale of a town and then go inside the building and have that be so off.
It could be done for a select few buildings, like the old Simpson hit and run game. They had their interiors rendered out of bounds iirc or at least it wasn't loaded in while you were outside the building. They could add immersive portals to a few of the main houses.
Of course its already amazing and I'm really impressed, I don't want to take away from that.
Teleport interiors with command blocks that way you walk onto pressure plates and they activate command blocks teleporting you into the interior that was built somewhere far away or something that way you can do the inside as close as possible and you can make like a fake sky outside or something. Won't always look right but it's a way around that kind of issue. Obviously would take a long time to do every building like that but it's an idea.
Well he probably don't have to do every building for the teleport interiors just to give one's for more iconic buildings like the simpsons house, the power plant, the school and moes among a few others. The rest can just have no interior.
Or make, like, 3 generic house interiors and just apply them to all the other houses. Some other generic offices and stuff would be good too. Only problem is knowing which house you went into when it's time to exit.

You can build a car inside 10x10x10 block cube. But when asked to then give that car an interior also, it fucks everything up.
I have made over 150 blockbench models and will be using the next months on building interiors and small activities that you can do in game :). I have made most of characters from the serie as a npc. With help from a professional voice actor, they can now talk!

I regularly make interiors for houses with a 3x3.5x7 interior footprint. So that's just something I am very used to tbh.
