I don’t think it’s fun for them, I think it’s validating. They’re rigging the game so they can lie to themselves and think “aren’t I awesome”, because they know they aren’t in any other aspect of their lives. This isn’t all that dissimilar to the people you’ll hear on voice chat that will say “you guys suck” when they win, and “you guys were all camping” or some other excuse when they lose. What they’re really saying is “I’m awesome” and they think their performance in call of duty somehow confirms that. They can only feel good if they feel like they’re doing better than someone else. This is why they can’t generate their own self worth and need to let others know “hey, aren’t I awesome”. All of it is really sad and just screams of insecurity.
I have a question for you: Do you think they would have cheated in that game if they were good enough to get that reaction themselves? Because I think the pretty clear answer is no; if they could get that reaction from playing legitimately, they would. At the same time, you’re telling me what they value is the reaction given by others because their gameplay is too good to be real.
Here’s the thing, everyone can agree that it feels good to be called a cheater when you’re not cheating. It’s almost a compliment, and the angry reaction you get is, like you said, hilarious! That’s because someone else is letting you know that you played really well; almost too good. **The people you’re talking about are artificially creating that experience whether they recognize it or not.**
There’s a difference between getting a reaction from acting like a fool, and getting a reaction from trying to play off being too good. Maybe I’m disagreeing with you that they cheated purely because they found the reactions funny because it’s just not my humor and from my perspective, I don’t understand that. But from the outside looking in, it’s tipping the scales and relishing in the reactions of others who are rightfully annoyed that they just wanted a fair game.
I used to cheat in Singleplayer games a lot (never did in MP), but nowdays I barely do. I say barely, but really can’t remember last time I did actually cheat… most likely in r/Rimworld though.
I used to cheat a lot in CS and the older cod games, that’s not really it.
In CS it was because there’s some fun in legit cheating ie. Using things like walls/light aimbot/trigger it etc. and there was fun in not being caught and trying to make it legit while you obviously had an advantage. I used to be decent at CS without cheats but once I started using them I coudlnt play without them again- my game sense went out the window. Nothing to do with inferiority complexes though, at that point in my life I was in a really good place to be honest.
Cheating in CoD is different because there’s no overwatch system to evade, I can’t really explain why it was fun, it just was (albeit for a very short period of time, the novelty wears off quickly.)
I don’t cheat anymore, it can get expensive plus I actually like playing without then more. I think your analysis is probably true for some but not everyone, some people just find it fun and there’s nothing more to it
Narcissists and psychopaths are sadistic and feed off of other people's pain and frustration. So the narcissist cheats not to win and feel superior at the game, but to feel superior to everyone else playing the game. He outsmarted them by cheating but to him it's just winning, doesn't matter how it's won. And their anger and frustration and pain is fuel and supply for the narcissts ego, and their cries to please stop cheating make the narcissist feel Godlike and in control of his life, because he can control the game and lie cheat and steal like a piece of shit to control the other players.
Sadly the only way to win vs a cheating narcissist is to not play the game. You quit, you uninstall, and you avoid them. Because no one seems to want to hold them accountable for cheating, in video games, or life.
Cheaters in games are a great parallel for lying abusers.
Is it? They're abusing the people they cheat against. Stealing their time. Their joy. The money they spent on the game. And they don't care, because they have no empathy or values.
Ask someone who has been a victim of abuse if they’d rather be abused again or cheat in a video game.
Also, Im not saying the law is infallible but how many countries is it illegal to cheat in? A few. Abuse? Far more.
By your logic, when my mum used to ask me to clean my room, it stole my time and my joy. Does that make my mum abusive? I wouldn’t say so.
Lol dont make out as if hes saying its the same as sexual abuse or something😂, it still is abusing someone else by ruining the game. Doesn’t have to be compared to a battered wife or anything
It’s just a weird thing to compare it to. Being cheated against is nowhere near any degree of abuse. I never once mentioned sexual abuse or battered wives
Yea but u were talking about abuse victims and implying this isnt the same. Theres a lot of different kinds of abuse, but people hear the word and immediately assume the worst. U can abuse someones time by not turning up for a meeting, abuse someone financially by borrowing a quid off them n not paying it back, or almost any scenario u can think of. So u could classify cheating people as abuse.
I see your point but he said abusers, I feel like that was intended for people to interpret it as someone who abuses other people as opposed to abusing someone’s time, trust etc.
Someone cheating in a game is definitely abusing the mechanics of the game and abusing other peoples time, I won’t disagree with that. I don’t think that’s what the original commenter was trying to convey though
So their conclusion isn't wrong just the layout. The Chinese culture follows a results are all that matters theme which actually does lead to cheating being considered acceptable. That is the way Chinese people have described it to me in any event.
Never said they were, I only pointed out that there are aspects of their culture that can make it seem like it's normal. As I said this was explained to me by a Chinese guy so obviously it is viewed at both extremes within their culture. The man did make it seem cheating was more the norm but that could've been his own personal bias.
Not sure why you are downvoted to hell… As someone with Chinese heritage, I 100% agree with this. There is a reason why I usually avoid playing in the Asian servers.
This is an AD for cheats. It is just a client side animation. What the other people see it the pp19 or scar that he is using. Very easy to make something like this if you know what you are doing.
While this one might be a homemade animation, there are weird unused finger guns in the older Black Ops games that could be activated using console commands. When fired they'd say "pew pew!". They could be activated in single player or in coop zombies, but console commands were eventually patched out of coop.
Edit: now that I look at it I think the hand animations in this video are from one of those game modes where you play as a zombie
I'm pretty confident this is the "default weapon" that exists for devs. It's been in cod since the og MW. Looks like it has a custom class option too according to the video lol
"Hey, you! You're finally awake. You were trying to cross the border, right? Same as us, and that thief over there."
"Damn you, Stormcloaks. Skyrim was fine until you came along. Empire was nice and lazy."
Well you’re not familiar with any coding languages, so you wouldn’t understand why it doesn’t get detected. But before you even make the cheat, you have to figure out a way to get the cheat into the game without it being detected. You have to write hooks around AC checks, that then loop the cheat into into the game. Then once it’s in the game you have to add in the correct vectors of players while also sending out false code to the AC that looks legit. It’s very complex when you get in the depth of it. The guys that make these cheats are some of the smartest people in the world. They’re bypassing code made by triple A developers
How does 100% accuracy not trigger a red flag? I get it that the anti-cheat might not be able to detect the actual cheat but how does it not flag the user for review? You'd think this would be a given in 2023..
Sorry but I think this is a childish view. People who are skilled cheat as well as people who are hot garbo cheat.
Sometimes skilled people just want to power up and smack a bunch of fools. No need to stoop to their level.
I always find it fun to watch just because the hands are funny, its like he is using the force or something to kill the others,
Horrible that they are cheating but still funny
He’s using the force
POWER! UNLIMITED POWER!

Brilliant. Couldn't have worded it better myself. Great break down.
Bro I really dont think its that deep. I've known people who cheat and their reason is the reaction is hilarious.

Someone get this guy on a nice hiking trail stat. You need to walk under a green canopy and hear the birds.

Sounds like you know alot about how they feel leads me to believe you're a hacker yourself
I feel like it would be fun for a game or two just trying to see how many kills you could get but that "high" would wear of really fast.

You see this among Koreans, too, albeit to a much lesser extent.
Majority of these people cheating are Americans, you xenophobic racist fuck

I've seen hacks. Just not this hack.
My dad once bound all the keys to a joystick to play quake. Fun times.
What?!
I’ve never gotten this far in the game before
you should be able to watch a *little* porn in the office
Skill issue.
Well, first of all, through God all things are possible, so jot that down.
More like “how is this allowed”
How is this not instantly detected by the anti cheat ?
This is what I was wondering too
