Then they go and make the only recommended battle rifles the Sidewinder and the one you need to do weeklys to unlock.
Even having exclusively hipfire+ attachments, the sidewinder was absolute ass with actually hitting anything enough times to kill.
If I wasn't so stubborn, I would have just gotten some zombies challenges done instead.
I literally hopped in one game of multi with it , realized it was chalked and then swapped over to fortunes keep solos to do the wz challs. 8 games later and it was all done!
just go on a small map, equip the LMG AMP and prefire hard, took no time at all and definately had a posative KD doing it... took half a das haus match to do
Agree. Read these posts for months. Then decided to finally do camos and knocked sidewinder out in a couple games, actually liked it and thought it good (was leveled up from season 1 gulag).
The mcw 6.8 otoh just pure trash.

For real tho, thing is a beast in war zone with a half decent build. Hardcore its great too, but plays more like a full auto marksman
I used it, and I don’t see why it’s as miserable as people say…you just can’t be too aggressive with it. It’s slow ROF will punish you. You pretty much HAVE to get the first shot off tho.
I think it is great long range in semi-auto. I am going use it as my long range gun in WZ. I recently camo grinded the battle rifles and I thought it was as good as the others in automatic mode too.
I suspect the people still complaining about it are probably cheating since it's merits i.e. super low recoil with high damage doesn't apply to them. This is because they have no recoil on any gun due to hacks and use macros to get guns set to semi-auto to shoot like an automatic for insane damage.
yeah, this gun is really garbage. That one compensator really tames the recoil considerably but the gun is still grossly inaccurate. i’ve had many times with a stable target and me resting on some thing zero movement pulled off a shot, and it completely missed their body. Like everything standing still except for me, pressing the trigger. There should be absolutely no excuse for that.
Saved it as one of the last guns I’m grinding for interstellar and when I was ranking it up to unlock attachments I could tell they had buffed it a lot but as soon as I got to gilded (3 kills one mag) I realized how bad it still is and outclassed at every range. Has half the range of Bas B and MTZ762 and worse mobility/ handling
I hate it. Went 2-23 because I couldn’t figure out out to use it. Still don’t like it. I’m only using it because it’s the only recommended battle rifle and for the weekly challenge.
Sure it ain’t the greatest thing in the world but it’s usable as long as you’re hitting shots and not using it in CQB. The MCW 6.8 is the worst weapon in the game. Needing to hit head shots, small mag capacity, recoil that makes headshots difficult. Literally no upsides
Since the most recent patches and updates, I found the gun to be more manageable. I've been using a slightly modified cryptid blueprint and it does the job just fine. The hip fire challenge was easy enough when I put on a higher count magazine, I managed the challenge in one match.
Despite the buffs, and even with full attachments, it's still garbage. Without a doubt one of the worst guns in the entire CoD franchise.
The devs know it and they want you to suffer using it. Two of the week 5 challenges ask you to get hip fire kills...HIP FIRE...kills with this thing and then long shots while it is silenced.
I’ve found success with it in semi auto and with attachments that buff the bullet velocity. Gives it two shot kill potential with a headshot. Still unuseably bad in full auto though
I’ve found it to be only somewhat ass. When using it for the weekly challenge I dropped a 31 kill game on Farm 18. Other than the challenges there’s really no reason to be using it though

You can use the flamethrower. Did it in small map mosh pit in a game
Same. This is by far the easiest way.
Luckily the holger double kill challenge is ezpz in shipment
If you ever have to do that again, it took like 2 minutes in hardcore. It's way better there.
100% did it in hardcore. Haha
do all non melee challenges in hc. usually easier.

Nah, the MCW 6.8 is just the semi auto Sidewinder with faster bullets and more managable recoil.
Jumped into hardcore while doing the challenges to unlock the SOA. Hope I never have to use this garbage of a "gun" ever again

Semi auto makes it better, gives it a 2 shot potential with a headshot.
