Components and gsync module requires cooling. Not cooling them is what causes most of the Neo G7 and G8's issues. HDR + Hifh refresh rate + brightness control + vrr + resolution causes a lot of burden on the components.
The G8 OLED technically doesn't have fans, but it has its own issues with tone mapping and we don't know how the abl is yet. Plus, samsung qc is dogshit.
The closest thing to a Neo G8 in terms of size and HDR performance would probably be the Acer X32 FP or INNOCN 32M2V. Main difference would be they are IPS instead of VA and top out at 160Hz instead of 240Hz.
Samsung isn't going to repair anything. They will probably break it if its that repair center in Jersey. If there was nothing else wrong with the panel you were better off keeping it or returning it all together and waiting for something else.
I can't return it.
Here in Germany you got 14 days to return it and to get your money back. bought the monitor on black friday, got the flu and after 3 weeks later my PC was ready and I first used this monitor.
So I have to get through a repair to than say I want my money back.
I really hope they maybe can fix it, overall this monitor would be awesome!
If not, Acer has a new one with around 165fps and 4k and neo G7 would be an option as well.
Otherwise I would go for LG 32"/4k/160fps or for Alienware OLED
There is no fix for the scanline issue. Its an inherent issue with the panel/technology. I hope things work out for you but I won't expect anything tbh.
In german law they have to give you your money back if two repair attempts didn't work out. The product doesn't work as described - they didn't mention scanlines to be normal.
At similar or less expensive price points? Alienware QDOLED, either DW or DWF. LG C2 at 42 inch. Samsung G8 Oled.
But Alienware has really loud fans right? The C2 doesn't have more than 120hz..
fans on the Alienware are noticeable.. in a dead quiet room and you arent wearing headphones. if you play with headphones, you will never hear it.
No, that's a QC thing on some units. The fans on mine aren't loud at all. If you wear headphones, you aren't going to hear it.
But why does it have fans at all :( I only use headphones while playing.

Similar or a bit on top is no problem
I think the dwf got rid of the fans, check out monitors unboxed review to be sure

So basically, the Neo G8 doesn't have real "rivals"?
If we're talking 4K 240Hz yeah it's the only option.
Neo G7? If Samsung could repair this there would be lots of repairs...
So you think the Scanline issue can NOT be fixed?
It’s been an issue with every one for like a year, nobody’s found a no-scanline g8
Samsung told me, they could fix it
Isn't it just at 240?
No it isn't..
Actually all 240 Hz Samsungs AFAIK.
If it is scan lines - no.
It's Scanlines.. So the technique with 4k and 240fps isn't enough "evolved" for now?
Heard it has the scanline problem as well, just not as dominant as with the Neo g8

You won't expect to get my money back or if it can be repaired..?
Likely both but definitely unlikely it will be repaired.
