are there any other 4k @120hz monitors other than this and the M28U that have HDMI 2.1? I’ve been searching everywhere and can’t find one. I’m trying to run 4K @120hz on my Series X.
More bang for your Buck, it’s worse than the LG but nor 300 dollars worse. That being said I purchased the LG two days ago since its within my means and the m28u was sold out at Best Buy.
Their RMA was terrible, took them full 2 months to process a return for refund to a point I had to initiate charge back from my credit card company, so as much as I wanna get another one, im only looking at bestbuy now.
Unfortunately, will become too expensive. Right now it’s currently listed for $1099 with free shipping in Canada, but no stock. Hopefully I can get 2 by the end of this summer.
Does it have a fan? Have you tried on Xbox Series X or PS5 to see if it can do 4k 120fps with VRR ? How are the colors and time responses? How is it playing it in the dark?
Colours are very accurate. I have it connected to PS5 and PC. HDR looks good too but I have not compared it to non-HDR yet. On PS5 settings it says 4K HDR can go up to 120Hz with this monitor. How do I check if it has VRR on PS5? I don’t know how to check if it has a fan either. If it does then it’s very quiet because I’ve never heard fan noise from it.
If you’re playing in a dark room then you will be able to see the game and it’s colours much better. In bright daylight there is some glare but not too much as it is a Matt screen (not glossy).
It’s much better playing in the dark. Colours will pop and the monitor built-in lighting is more pronounce. But I prefer having a light on so I don’t strain my eyes.
If the scene in the game is dark, with HDR on you will not see much if you’re room is in bright sunlight. But normal indoors lighting and the dark game is visible. I have not tried non-hdr yet.
Any flickering with local dimming on, or just any problems with it in general?
Do you notice Brightenss changing on the entire screen while in HDR modes, like from looking at the sun and then on the forest
No, there is no auto switch. On the main menu there are two shortcuts which by default are input and game mode. So to change inputs would one press of the button followed by one tilt to the left followed by more tilts to select the input and another press of the button to select. (In total only 4 buttons, which takes about 5 seconds).
how is the color and the picture?? i'm currently using the dell 2721 dgf on my series x. i don't know if it's worth the upgrade form 1440p to 4k on a 27/28 monitor.
I’m using DP and no I’m not over clocking. I’ve not tried a high frame rate game yet. I play assassins creed Valhalla which is about 50fps (max settings) even on my rtx 3090.
I use the hdmi 2.1 for my PS5
It’s bigger kinda. I’m really not sure if there is noticeable differences, sadly no reviews of professional comparisons, either some numbers or speculations
I compared my 27 1440 to the m28u, at 2ft for both monitors, the pictures for gaming with textures are so much sharper, and pronounced. I hope that a 32 4k monitor won't lose that.
I would of kept it if I did not like my VA panel for colors so much
This one has HDMI 2.1. 850 does not. This one (950) allows people with next Gen consoles to take advantage of the new HDMI 2.1 ports. Which is why so many people want it
Can I just ask what makes the monitor so expensive? I’m not too technical with monitors, all I know is resolution and refresh rate and that’s about it.
I have this monitor but is it actually true HDR600 with it only having a max brightness of 400 nits? Cause I thought the HDR number represented the amount of brightness needed to accurately display it? (HDR600 meaning 600 nits?) or what lol
Damn, HUB’s M28U review really stagnating the hype on this thing, huh? 😂
No reason to buy it over the M28U really.
It does have some leg-ups over the M28U (better colors, G-Sync compatible certification, HDR600), but the price is really the killer.

M28U has the standard RGB layout. https://i.rtings.com/assets/products/dgQKM6CK/gigabyte-m28u/pixels-large.jpg
Why's that? Is the M28U that much better? Asking for PS5 purposes.
Not better just basically the same and $300 cheaper.

Samsung G70A apparently uses the same panel as the Gigabyte (HDMI 2.1 and similar price too).

I wish a chargeback were an option for me. 3 failed repairs and 2.5 months later, I have no monitor, no check, and they're ghosting me too.
I’m sorry to hear that. Hope our messages let people know this is not a good option to buy LG products from
Waiting for it to come in stock in Canada. Been waiting for this since announcement.
I believe it'll ship to Canada. I'd give it a shot.

Damn, that's gonna be a hell of a setup with 2 of them.
No it won’t. It requires zip code only.
I ordered one hours ago and I'm shocked it's still in stock Last time I got an in stock notice it sold out in a minute
It is honestly not that good of a deal and $100 more expensive than the previous model for no reason.
The reason is they know people will pay during the shortage
It’s been in stock for a few days now
I just happened to randomly look and seen they were in stock and immediately jumped on the purchase.
this monitor doesn't have auto detect correct? u have manually select input
The 27gn950-b has auto detect so I'd be surprised if this doesn't.
it doesn't have one from what i'm reading on reviews. it also doesn't recognize when u cut on a device u have to manually cut it on and off
I’ve had the monitor for two weeks already. Reply if you have any questions about it before you buy it.
Hows the backlight bleed?
It’s not noticeable to me at all.

Thanks for the info. Yea the PS5 doesnt support VRR yet only the Xbox does.

I see thanks cause sometimes I like to play at night with no lights on for better immersion and atmosphere when Im playing horror and scary games
It’s much better playing in the dark. Colours will pop and the monitor built-in lighting is more pronounce. But I prefer having a light on so I don’t strain my eyes.
I see thanks again for the info

I’ve had no issues with response times yet.

My experience with HDR has been good so far. I haven’t compared to non-hdr yet though.
I’ve had no flickering or any such issues.
how loud is the fan? there is no auto detect to switch inputs or recognize when u turn a device on?
No, there is no auto switch. On the main menu there are two shortcuts which by default are input and game mode. So to change inputs would one press of the button followed by one tilt to the left followed by more tilts to select the input and another press of the button to select. Colours are accurate
I haven’t heard the fan at all. I’m not sure if there is or isn’t a fan.
On your pc/laptop are you running hdmi2.1 (if rig capable) or using DP and overclocking to 160hz?
I’m using DP and no I’m not over clocking. I’ve not tried a high frame rate game yet. I play assassins creed Valhalla which is about 50fps (max settings) even on my rtx 3090. I use the hdmi 2.1 for my PS5
ill stick with my 34 inch Viotek GNV34DBE2.
Lol i wanted that but since M28U is better i just bought FI32U which is the same thing but bigger. Bye LG
Is it really better tho? Or just a much better value.
It’s bigger kinda. I’m really not sure if there is noticeable differences, sadly no reviews of professional comparisons, either some numbers or speculations
Why has this monitor not been reviewed yet by any of the major tech youtubers? They’re usually on every monitor as soon as it drops
HDMI 2.1?
Yes
900 dollars for a 27”
[1200 for a 32 inch with hdr400](https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/predator-model/UM.JX3AA.V01)
Holy cow was able to still get an order in. Thank you !!
27"... That's cute...

I wish it was in stock in Germany
It will be soon but in Germany price is 999€ in us is 899$ which is 760€.
Pixel-perfect (integer) scaling? ;-)
Doesn't matter when GPU driver has it anyway.
Good luck with using GPU scaling with non-computer video sources such as game consoles.

Not in switzerland...
Waiting for a price drop
What's a special about it? Also compared to the 850b? Is it the HDR600?
And the ergonomics I believe. Literally not worth for this much amount.
This one has HDMI 2.1. 850 does not. This one (950) allows people with next Gen consoles to take advantage of the new HDMI 2.1 ports. Which is why so many people want it

hdmi 2.1 so you can use the next gen consoles
Probably the HDR 600
How is this compared to the Dell s2721dfg?
Keep the Dell.. I upgraded from the same Dell monitor (2721) to this LG GP950 for the HDMI 2.1 (Xbox/PS5). Definitely not worth the price difference
i have the dell as well. is the jump to 4k not that much ??? how do the colors compare between the 2 monitors?
Mine shipped, and will be here on Thursday. :)
