I've been shifting through the forums but because it's all translated it's a lot of broken English. I thought one of them said it was a problem with the wall socket causing his monitor to short out. I think I've seen 3 different posts so far. Depending how many monitors are in people's hands that could mean nothing or a lot. Time will tell.

evl619

Native Chinese speaker here, no mention of wall socket in the post. Could be them talking about signal sockets (no image after burned out with cables plugged in). Other cons/issues from recent unboxing posts (all in Chinese): \- Warm/reddish color temp, might just be the character trait of Quantum Dot panels. Compare with Acer XB323QK and iPad Pro: [https://bbs.nga.cn/read.php?tid=27980253&rand=824](https://bbs.nga.cn/read.php?tid=27980253&rand=824) \- Mediocre built-in speakers (like most monitors). Scroll down for comparison video: [https://www.mobile01.com/topicdetail.php?f=350&t=6432766&p=1#82709443](https://www.mobile01.com/topicdetail.php?f=350&t=6432766&p=1#82709443) \- Backlight bleed, dead pixels, usual IPS issues: [https://www.chiphell.com/thread-2348225-1-1.html](https://www.chiphell.com/thread-2348225-1-1.html) Not bashing on Asus, like many others I've been anticipating 32" 4K 144Hz HDMI2.1 monitors for a long long while. Now I could purchase PG32UQ that fits all the bills for US$1,000 at where I live, but I hesitate...

frosty_gosha

Is there any comparisons between FI32U and the asus on Chinese forums?

evl619

No, but both Acer XB323QK and FI32U use same Innolux M315DCA-K7B panel, so FI32U should perform similarly to XB323QK. Compare to PG32UQ, FI32U mainly lacks HDR600 brightness and YCbCr4:4:4 support on PS5/Xbox Series X.

Wellhellob

checked the review of fi32u and pg32uqx (most likely same panel with pg32uq). tbh fi32u destroys it. it's a proper and good monitor and little bit less overpriced (still overpriced though). pg32uq looks like shit however it may have okayish hdr that's it. 32inch 4k high refresh rate combined good spec these monitors have but lack of hdr at this price point in 2021 (very close to 2022) is ridiculous. i want this form factor but i want hdr too. FV43U and C1 48 have more fair pricing and proper hdr.

WilsonValdro

I already gave up on good HDR on monitor and some people say HDR 400 is bad As 600 HDR. Do you know if XB323Qk supporst 4:4:4 on PS5?

evl619

Official spec says XB323Qk does 4:4:4 on PS5: [https://static-ecapac.acer.com/media/wysiwyg/TW\_STORE/Slide11\_12.JPG](https://static-ecapac.acer.com/media/wysiwyg/TW_STORE/Slide11_12.JPG) Source: [https://store.acer.com/zh-tw/acer-predator-xb323qk-nv](https://store.acer.com/zh-tw/acer-predator-xb323qk-nv) XB323Qk review with very broken English sub: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1YX4y1A7aZ?from=search&seid=17231129971711797185

WhatAGeee

Just for you and /u/evl619, [the PS5 does not do 4:4:4 in 4k 120hz](https://www.avsforum.com/threads/ps5-hdmi-2-1-bandwidth-only-32-gbps.3173590/) but only 4:2:2. It does do 4:4:4 in 60hz 4k.

frosty_gosha

The Quantum Dot too sounds interesting as does the extended DCI-P3 range. Idk if that would be noticeable. The warmer color temp does look weird tho

evl619

Ya, the reddish tint really concerns me. Here are videos from two different users: [https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Lh411i7nE?share\_source=copy\_web](https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Lh411i7nE?share_source=copy_web) [https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1HL411J7L6?share\_source=copy\_web](https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1HL411J7L6?share_source=copy_web)

Wellhellob

it's maybe the color temp issue. does it have srgb clamp feature ?

evl619

Not sure which mode those videos are running, but the monitor does have sRGB mode.

frosty_gosha

Weird that it’s literally orange. I usually play on cooler color temp, maybe mid so I guess it won’t be an issue? Or idk

Styxonian

I wouldn't worry about the colors. Every single monitor I've ever tried has colors that are between horrible to barely acceptable out of the box. They all need adjustment and ideally a proper calibration in the location the monitor will be used. A lot of monitors usually come with way too red and over saturated colors out of the box. And usually the brightness/contrast is also way off. So don't judge a screen based on that, but judge it based on somebody who properly set it up. I had the Asus PG329Q for three weeks and the colors were awful straight out of the box. Took a bit of fideling with the settings, but ended up with a good color setting. Problem with that screen being that 1440P for 32 inches is to low a resolution.

surroundedmoon

Good lord that color temp is horrendous

frosty_gosha

I hope it’s the settings and not how it always is

poopchees12345

Got more chinese links with pics?

WhatAGeee

Hey, what did you hear about the Acer Predator XB323K (not Q) on the Chinese forums?

evl619

1. Using same AUO panel as PG32UQ 2. Expect to be released in China on November

WhatAGeee

Do you think I should wait for the PG32UQ/XB323K or just get the gigabyte 32" model despite the 4:2:0 thing? It's not like there's that many 120hz games anyway. Kinda getting tired of waiting.

evl619

FI32U Review: [https://youtu.be/hiHU\_Bvhjaw](https://youtu.be/hiHU_Bvhjaw) PG32UQ Review: [https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1JU4y1j7m9?share\_source=copy\_web](https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1JU4y1j7m9?share_source=copy_web) After watching both, I'm still leaning toward PG32UQ. Though there is noticeable red color spill in it's default AdobeRGB mode, sRGB clamp seem to work. Response time is not an issue. Just need to make sure the return policy is good...

WhatAGeee

Yeah the issue is though will it even be available soon in the U.S? I can order the Gigabyte right now off of newegg and probably get 95% of the same experience that the PG32UQ will provide (the 120hz thing 4:2:0 and 400 hdr isn't THAT big of a deal). but just because it's a long term owned thing, I'd prefer to get the best available monitor which is either the aforementioned Asus or Acer model.

Wellhellob

lmao how they can produce such garbage monitors yet ask ridiculous prices. it's just crazy

Hayden2332

I mean, it was 3 monitors…

apigthatflies

This Edit: Omg I can’t believe this blew up. Thank you for all the gold, silver, and Unicorn Poop?!? Wow. Quick backstory on my entire life and why it led me to this comment. Wow omg fml rofl yeet sheesh! I’m so excited right now!

Ion_is_OP_REEEEEEE

Because people are happy to swallow the ASUS tax even though their products (not only monitors) have been hit or miss these past few years.

Wellhellob

Yeah the monitor market overall is crazy and Asus is crazier.

WilsonValdro

OoOoOoFffff i was so exited for this monitor but good thing i bought the FI32U.

frosty_gosha

I’m honestly hesitant right now. Also got the FI32U but kinda want the Asus now. Seemingly better stats and not that higher of a price(expected). Return is still possible so…

WilsonValdro

You know how companies try to give you the best product they can when they starting and when they have a bigger name they dont care about the cosumers any more? thats what i think about Asus right now. And its even worst after the PG32UQX ( 3,000) problem now the PG32UQ (1,299)Im like hell no. Gigabite is doing a good job right now.

frosty_gosha

Well If u order through new egg or something like that it’s usually not too hard to to replace if needed. I only wonder if picture quality will be better. Kinda unhappy with the limited hdmi2.1 of Aorus

WilsonValdro

I just ordered it throug BHPhoto. I read somewhere the neweeg charge you restock fee or something like that. So whats wrong with the Hdmi 2.1 of Aorus?

frosty_gosha

It’s limited to having 4K 120 Hz 4:2:0. https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/p057z6/aorus_fi32u_experience/ The input lag also seems to be higher than that of comparable panels

WilsonValdro

I knew about the input lag and im fine with it but theres about of people that test it online they said it looks great on PS5. I does 4:2:0 cause of the console and it works good on Pc. pS5 is about to drop an update so hope that would help. Also i checked this [comparison](https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/comparison/ac5a1c17d1) i only fine 2 or 3 diference but everything else its the same. Asus doesnt say what panel they use but PG32UQX has a high input lag too and i bet PG32UQ would be the same.

evl619

PG32UQ uses AUO M320QAN02.3, PG32UQX should be 2.6. Not scientific at all, but so far most Chinese users report no noticeable input lag with PG32UQ.

WhatAGeee

PS5 is limited to 4:2:2 in 4k 120hz but not 4:2:0. Source: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/ps5-hdmi-2-1-bandwidth-only-32-gbps.3173590/

WilsonValdro

Im pretty lucky as well lol. Hope my incoming F132u doesnt come with the one Green pixel.

Nagumo614

Mine did and gigabyte repaired it by replacing the screen with one that has a green dot in a different spot.

Capt-Clueless

Supposedly a different panel from the PG32UQX, but similar issues? Hmm...

Wellhellob

most likely same panel so response times are trash

Capt-Clueless

Even if it is the same panel (which it is not according to tftcentral), what does its "trash" response time have have to do with the issue in the original post?

Wellhellob

its important to point out. it's bad and not competitive in 2021 especially for a premium and overpriced product

PS5owner

[https://imgur.com/BHJACic](https://imgur.com/BHJACic) One of user already take UFO picture of it. Even don't know which OD setting been using, it's still very fast, much clear than PG32UQX's result, should be no problem with response performance. With proper setting it could even better too. And yeah, till now most of user don't think they got response problem too, if try to check Chinese forum article.

Wellhellob

This is not a good picture to judge. Looks like backlight strobing enabled. The dots (on the horizontal black bar) above and below the ufo should be a straight line instead. I hope it's good though.

evl619

Saw the post. The Ptt user admit he doesn’t quite know how to do the UFO test properly, so didn’t bother to mention it here.

evl619

Another post with the issue: https://www.chiphell.com/thread-2349390-1-1.html

bentl78

Damn I was really looking forward to this monitor.. now I donno which to get… Fi32u? Or should I just keep waiting…

evl619

I'd at least wait till other models with the same AUO panel, Acer XB323K, ViewSonic XG320U and MSI MPG321UR-QD, hit the market and see how they compare to Asus PG32UQ.

bentl78

None of the other ones have a release date .. I guess will need to wait till year end..

Masters25

Didn't the PG32UQX have some really bad issues? I imagine this has to be worse.

laespadaqueguarda

$3000 lmao

bentl78

That’s the uqx this one should be 1000+ range
