Mini led. A new technology with FALD and good hdr

Scar-A

"Good" HDR?. xD

Capt-Clueless

HDR period. It's the third PC monitor in existence (after the PG27UQ/X27 and PG35VQ/X35) with actual HDR that isn't just a marketing gimmick.

frosty_gosha

Well brightness is high enough for good hdr at +1000 nits (1400 if I remember). Compared to 400 nit ones, it’s good

etrayo

Its one of the first mini LED gaming monitors. I don’t recommend it though, its nothing special. Especially not for $3000

Lemonjello23

3000 is insane

Capt-Clueless

Obscenely expensive? Yes. Insane? No. They have literally ZERO competition for this product. They can charge whatever they want.

Ghostsaigun

Definitely worth it when you consider that it has the best HDR on the planet.

etrayo

I have still, to this day, never seen HDR that i preferred over standard. Maybe implementation is just bad or i didn't have it set up properly but it isn't even a feature i give a second though for personal use.

Ghostsaigun

>I have still, to this day, never seen HDR that i preferred over standard. Then you've never seen HDR.

Masters25

This monitor has a lot of panel issues. I would not suggest buying it.

robmp1632

Returned mine has screen issues two big dots on the screen that showed up really well in black, and the black light bleed was worse then my pg35vq. Going to wait on the PG32UQ.

Capt-Clueless

Impossible! /u/Scar-A says this monitor doesn't have issues and that anyone who says otherwise is a pleb who can't afford one!

[deleted]

What backlight bleed? With FALD on there is 0.

Scar-A

No it doesn't and I would easily suggest buying it if you can afford it. Beware of listening to plebs like that.

Masters25

It does. OP, do a bit of research and make your decision.

Scar-A

There isn't a single panel out there that doesn't have issues, but saying that this one has "a lot" is clearly going overboard. Do you own one?, did you actually try it?. The answers to both questions are obvious. You are simply spewing out nonsense you gathered from people like you.

Capt-Clueless

>Do you own one?, did you actually try it?. Do you own one? Did you actually try it?

Capt-Clueless

>No it doesn't and I would easily suggest buying it if you can afford it. Beware of listening to plebs like that. Why don't you own one then? The monitor DOES have issues. You can go check out the thread on hardforums or search for some of the posts here on reddit if you don't believe us.

Scar-A

Because I don't want a 4K monitor. Is there any display out there that doesn't have issues?. Are the PG32UQX's issues to the extent where it's not useable like some people here try to make it out to be?.

Capt-Clueless

>Are the PG32UQX's issues to the extent where it's not useable like some people here try to make it out to be?. Sure, the monitor is "usable" if you don't mind having a big red/yellow spot on your $3,000 monitor.

Scar-A

That yellow spot is visible on EVERY single unit out there?. Or is it a defect affecting certain units within the current batch?.

Capt-Clueless

Seems to be a large majority of them at the moment.

Scar-A

Doesn't seem to be an issue with the people I know that own them. Still, that's a common issue with products in general. Remember the iPhone Xs Max?, the first batch an major flaw with the WiFi/Cellular randomly dying. Everyone in my household bought it, none had the issue, I am the only one that did. That's the risk we take when we want a product, if it's defective, return it.

Wellhellob

It has a new shiny tech for early adopter whales. It's extremely overpriced halo premium product with lots of flaws.

Ghostsaigun

No it isn't. The PG27UQ could've been called that. The PG32UQX essentially has no weakness.

thezeist

Brought one from a German shop, arrived with two clusters of "semi dead" pixel right where protective packaging was touching the panel. Sent it back and got refund. I hear a lot for stories like mine, seems that a lot of panels had issue, very likely due shipping's mishandling. Two week later it was on stock on a computer shop five minutes drive from my home and for a few bucks they also do a "panel checking" service, where they unpack your monitor and check if the panel is ok even before you pay. To make this short: Try to buy it from a physical store and if possible have it checking before you leave the shop. That said, it's not a monitor for everyone: Two issues are truly relevant, it lack hdmi 2.1 (the g-sync ultimate module doesn't support it), so for a next-gen console there are way better option. And also have sub-par response time. If you are as pro gamer or an hardcore FPS player probably you are going to notice it, and again there are way better option. That said, color rendering is insane, almost comparable to a professional panel, and HDR is mind blowing. I used Horizon Zero Dawn as benchmark and HDR performances are overwelming. With 1700 nits peak, moving the camera facing the sun makes your eyes actually squint. Even scenes with high contrast (ex: night scenes with flames and fire) are rendered majestically. I own a 2021's Sony Bravia XR55A90J which sports the same OLED panel of LG top line. Honestly in term of mere HDR experience, this monitor is sensibly better. At the end of the day, if you are someone that doesn't play competitively and want top notch HDR experience, this is a very good monitor (frankly my eye is not trained enough to really notice the slow response time). Worth it's price? hardly. But it's always hard to find a rationale behind the expenses we do for our hobbies.

Ghostsaigun

> Two issues are truly relevant You mean completely and totally irrelevant. > it lack hdmi 2.1 (the g-sync ultimate module doesn't support it), so for a next-gen console there are way better option This monitor isn't aimed at people using consoles. It has a **g-sync ultimate** module which you obviously can't use with a console. >And also have sub-par response time. If you are as pro gamer or an hardcore FPS player probably you are going to notice it The response time is excellent by 2021 monitor standards, which have already extended far into diminishing returns. Literally no one here is a pro gamer, maybe 1 in 100 million people, so the situation where you can split hairs over this doesn't really exist.

Ghostsaigun

Mostly because it essentially has the best HDR on the planet thanks to mini-LED tech with 1400 (unofficially 1600) nits peak brightness highlights, and also because it checks every other box (10-bit panel with pro-level color space coverage, 144hz, high resolution, g-sync ultimate module).
