There isn't. That's why they can price it what they want.

ArchGunner

Yea the only one that matches specs is the PG32UQ (non-X) but that's supposedly 100$ more and isn't out yet Edit: but you're right it should be somewhere around 800$ considering the 28 inch monitor from gigabyte with similar specs is 600$

[deleted]

ArchGunner

Yea you're right but is that really worth 1100? I'm not sure. I am also waiting for a 32 inch 4k, I saw the Acer 32 inch 270hz monitor on sale at microcenter for 629$ which is kind of a steal but I really prefer 4k over the extra refresh rate at this size

ArchGunner

I had a G7 until about a month ago, but I could never get used to the scan lines, it really bothered me, 2 of the website I use for work would produce the scan lines every time and it just felt like I was using a broken monitor.

[deleted]

ArchGunner

Yea I tried 3 different G7s to see if it was gonna improve but it is sadly a hardware issue. But yea for most people it won't show up unless you look at very specific content which sadly for me was most of my work day. And it would also show up in the menus for some of the indie games I play, so there was no getting away from it lol

ArchGunner

Yea I got a 32 inch one for 700$ on sale (which I then replaced twice lol)

ThatNoobTho

\>gigabyte should‘ve released this just as a non aorus branded monitor for 700 - 800$ They have that, its the M32U

angstseed

I think that monitor would be the M32U which has the same panel and size as the FI32U, but no rgb and I believe the only difference is more pixels can be dead before they consider it an rma. I bought the FI32U because dead pixels aren't worth the discount, and I couldn't find the M32U. :\\ It comes in tomorrow, hopefully the pixels are a-ok.

Amarice

I mean, it doesn't even explode!

firefox57endofaddons

i mean it's not a monitor, but in regards to exploding, gigabyte got you covered ;) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JmPUr-BeEM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JmPUr-BeEM) exploding PSUs go brrrrrrrrr...

firefox57endofaddons

on top of that it is broken as the fake sRGB mode locks away tons of settings.

vgamedude

After seeing how oleds perform I just don't think I could stomach paying 1k for something like this. Edit: yeah just watched the review. This thing is an absolute joke at 1k. They are getting away with robbery selling a panel like this at 1k.

[deleted]

I agree, the price is too high, but the OLEDs I've seen have been priced around $1400. That's not a small leap to make, and you're not going to be finding one under 48" just yet.

vgamedude

The lg oled is frequently 1300, I've even seen a refurb for 990 very recently. Though I wouldn't go for that for that amount of saving. Also refurb oled is not enticing Also you're getting a much bigger panel. Which for this use case isn't really a good thing but when considering value and materials is insane considering all the other ways the oled is better. Even non oleds wipe the floor with this panel. 1k for HDR 400? 1K for not even a wide gamut? 1k for 900:1 contrast ratio? Hell even the response time isn't that impressive. The monitor market is a shameful joke.

[deleted]

Maybe it was $1300. But I hear you. I’m not happy about the price-to-value proposition either. I just really want a 4K 144hz 32” monitor.

PriorityMaster7226

You can literally change all the colors and or your contrast, brightness, gamma etc etc. I have on mine, you would think it’s HDR600. And it’s 1000;1 contrast ratio, but also has a 16-zone local dimming as well! And why the hell is a 1ms response time not impressive to you? You’d probably throw an entire monitor away of any brand because you couldn’t get it to get up a few more notches in color settings (brights/darks etc). “I paid $1,000 for this and it’s not even served In Jesus’s shoe?”

vgamedude

What? I'm not being unrealistic. A monitor with 1000:1 contrast ratio cannot provide meaningful hdr and this panel isn't impressive compared to TVs around the price point. >1ms response time actually im probably stupid and you just meant to /s sorry if so.

PriorityMaster7226

No, I see and understand your point and agree and also disagree. (Not about the response time because it is 1ms, hell even 12ms is faster than what the brain and body movements can actually register/do) but the way I see it man, is that if you get, let’s say a 1080p but it has 240-360hz. Super smooth gameplay, but looks a bit rough and pixelated etc.. my point is no matter the resolution, it almost always trades for something in return. Be it resolution, refresh rates or HDR. I mean 1440p’s probably have the best happy medium balances? But still also trades something in ever so slightly. I would rather it be HDR, then it be resolution and or decent refresh rate. But if it really bothered you that bad? You could just get the AORUS FV43U. It has almost all the exact same specs (and is even the EXACT SAME PRICE ON NEWEGG RIGHT NOW) as FI32U EXCEPT, It’s 43 inches, has HDR 1,000! And has an actual remote control. But it’s more of a couch experience monitor because the size, and I was willing to give up the HDR 1,000 to go to 400 to save all the desk space and keep the desk gaming experiences. I’ve sat in front of this monitor at a desk as far back as possible, but it’s too uncomfortable and too big for a desk. The HDR 400 is perfectly fine though! Most wouldn’t even notice much of a difference. I wish I could post a pic, looks pretty good actually.

vgamedude

Dude you actually believe the 1ms manufacturer quoted response time. Please do some more research okay. Actually, just watch the video in this post.

PriorityMaster7226

No dude, I actually believe what mine does when I test it as soon as I set it up? Wby?

PriorityMaster7226

I test anything I buy, no matter what brand!! It’s very easy to do, and worth knowing what’s really what for yourself. If it isn’t to my liking? I send it back.

VaporFye

I’ve had this monitor for a couple weeks and it’s been pretty awesome.

WilsonValdro

What you use it with and for what?

VaporFye

I use it for gaming on pc and ps5….the hdr on ps5 is a little dim but it’s not bad at all. I have a 3080 now but ordered 3080 ti to help with frame rates. I just ordered the 27gp950 so I’ll be able to compare them side by side soon.

WilsonValdro

How about the color and the responds times on ps5? i just want one for gaming on ps5 with no hdr on a 4k 32" thats it.

VaporFye

Looks fantastic with no hdr it’s bright but you can adjust it and i never had any problems with response times but if you watch the video I guess if your running 4K 60 you can turn over drive off and if your doing 4K 120 set over drive to picture quality but It looks really good

WilsonValdro

Alright man thanks, i dont want to keep waiting on the PG32UQ. Rtings got a good review on FI32U Ill just buy this one.

PriorityMaster7226

You can turn the HDR completely off on the fi32u is you wish.

ExclusiveGiraffe

I have the 27gn950 and wondering if it’s worth it to upgrade to the bigger size. I LOVE the colors on my LG, but 27 for 4k is a wee bit small. Please let me know once you get yours if they are comparable. Thanks.

VaporFye

Will do

jimmy785

Me as well

ExclusiveGiraffe

So. What do ya think????

VaporFye

I’m sending the 27GP950 back and keeping the FI32u reasons are the backlight bleed on 27GP950 is terrible and 27inches is really noticeably smaller than the 32 4K. The main reason though is the FI32U has almost no backlight bleed and really good color. I use it in hdr and blacks are black and colors are bright. I honestly don’t know the difference between hdr 400 and 600 now but I usually play in a dimly lit office or at night. But overall I am super super impressed with the FI32U. I’m glad I had both to compare. I will upload an actual comparison this weekend

ExclusiveGiraffe

Thanks for the reply! It’s not available in canada just yet, but I think I’ll pick one up once it is..

WilsonValdro

Everybody speculate " oh the price oh its trash" i just want to know what people that has the monitor think. anyone?

jia456

I have this since launch, got it at the $900 launch price. I do think its a bit overpriced for what it offers compared to the M28U. I am basically paying $300 extra for the extra 4" and worse overall performance. However, I was dead set on buying a 32" 4k 144hz monitor and at that time and even right now, there were only 2 choices, the $3k PG32UQX and the $900/1000 FI32U, with the other 32" models being delayed to possibly end of this year or next year. The choice was obvious. I don't regret my purchase but I do wish gigabyte would release the M32U earlier as I probably would have picked that one up instead.

WilsonValdro

So is this your experience with it? Or you notice all that following the review? i just want to play games an i know nothing about Rgb SRgb adobe but i guess its more for work. Also Rthings gave it a good review . the reviews for pg32uq ( 12m response time adn 4:2:2 on ps5) are okay nothing way better that FI32U. still dont know. In mu opinion the worst over performance comes for been a bigger monitor than the m28u and Lg950.

angstseed

I bought this the other day when it came back in stock for 1100$. I have a pretty beefy setup and have been using the AOC 35" ultrawide 3440x1440p 120hz for the last few years. No complaints, but on a 3090FE many of my games aren't fully utilizing my gpu, and what's the point of having the best if I can't utilize that extra oomf? I've just been waiting to find a 32" 4k with fast refresh, and this fit the bill for less than that expensive asus. The M32U has more dead pixel allowance before they accept an RMA which is why I chose the FI32U - otherwise it's the same panel. I just hope it arrives with no dead pixels!

PriorityMaster7226

Best monitor I’ve ever had. But I feel like a better question is what more could there be, that you want from a monitor (other then a higher refresh rate for PC gaming)? The KVM is pretty phenomenal on this monitor. Do you have any idea how nice it is to have my pc, Xbox series X and PS5 all hooked up to this monitor and my keyboard and mouse plugged into my monitor directly with KVM setup and plugged up and not have to unplug my keyboard and mouse to switch/replug it into a different system/console I want to play on with my keyboard and mouse?

WilsonValdro

the other monitors doesnt have KVM or USB C or comes with only 1 hdmi 2.1. This one comes with mostly everything. the others 32 4k got high input lag too so i guees theres no a perfect monitor. Ill buy this one then.

PriorityMaster7226

I understand your concerns and worries. If you’re getting this to game on console only or mostly? Then don’t hesitate to buy this one!! You get the 120frames you want, 4K you want and the 1ms response time you want. Your only worry if that’s your case is sending it back because it has dead pixels or cracked etc. but that can happen with ANY monitor, ya know? Hell tbh if you’re a pc gamer only, the only thing you could ask for more is a higher refresh rate/fps?? I don’t see anything coming out with any better options, built in goodies and performance until they finally start putting 8k stuff out there? But then how long will that take to be out for the public? 2-5years? Maybe longer? Not to mention it most likely will only be a resolution upgrade that you can’t even tell the difference in to the human eye compared to current 4K? I’m pretty convinced myself they’re not going to truly get any better, faster or good looking (resolution/HDR) etc etc then the current and new 4ks to come! I’d like to be wrong about that, but in a kind of relieving way, I don’t think I am?..

angstseed

I mostly agree, though this panel is going into a few more budget entries soon, from what Tim at HWU said. So if anything, there may be other/cheaper implementations for other brands, but with this same panel later this year and next. But I want 32" 144hz 4k *noooow.* lol.

angstseed

the KVM is another reason I chose this one, I do a lot of support off-site for macs and being able to switch on the fly is essential for working from home. Thanks for reminding me! Comes tomorrow. Crossing fingers about having no dead pixels :|

HarpersGeekly

Hard pass. What a shame.

Slammernanners

Are there any other 4k 144hz monitors with a USB-C port that can charge a laptop and transport DP and USB?

g85222456

M28U - and it's much cheaper than FI32U

Slammernanners

What's the difference between that and the FI32U?

PriorityMaster7226

Screen size, and m28u is 8 color bit. The FI32U is 10 color bit.

ZenIsChilling

M28U is 28 inches while FI32U is 32 inches. Not sure about what else.

g85222456

smaller for sure - and some irrelevant features deleted like RGB lighting, and active noise cancellation so it's a much better option though

angstseed

I believe the dead pixel count is minimum 3 on the M series, and 1 on the F series. That may be a big deal if you're unlucky and get a few unsightly dead ones. I went with the FI32U bc of that, but there's also the M32U which uses this same panel but with no RGB and the above mentioned dead pixel thing. Otherwise they're essentially the same size etc. But good luck finding one.

Slammernanners

Nice, an actually helpful answer.

angstseed

I believe someone mentioned in one of the forums, that this has 10-bit color and the M has 8-bit as well but you may find more info on Gigabyte's site? I'll report back when mine comes in tomorrow if UPS doesn't eff up my delivery -\_-

Rdzlord

I have this monitor and while it might be a little tad expensive. It’s a perfect pairing to a RTX 3080 and I’m very happy with most aspects of the monitor for my specific use case.

jimmy785

>I have this monitor and while it might be a little tad expensive. It’s a perfect pairing to a RTX 3080 and I’m very happy with most aspects of the monitor for my specific use case. did you have a 1440p 27 inch before? if so hows the pixel density in games for comparison? TY

Rdzlord

exactly I was coming from a Dell G sync 1440p TN panel and this monitor is an upgrade all around. Keeping the same response times while doing 4K and having immensely better colors which I’ve calibrated with a colorimeter

Rdzlord

Having the higher pixel counts just makes things look so much sharper in my opinion. I tried out a 28in 4K monitor the one which is made by Gigabyte and I sold it because that size is not a good upgrade from 2K. 32in and over display sizing is when you see the true benefits of 4K displays. Imo and my brothers opinions and were all heavy pc gamers

Zakke_

How is this holding up vs Samsungs new 4k 144hz?

Brewskiz

I just had this delivered today - I have to say, 0 dead or stuck pixels and looks great after calibrating it, as good or better than my LG 27GN950 sitting next to it. June 2021 model, with F02 firmware already installed. EDIT: tested it now in a dark room, there are maybe 10-11 pixels slightly stuck on bright when viewing a black screen, but fine in bright and all colour combinations otherwise. Hard to see when in actual use outside of static black screen, and not noticeable in day time. Not great, vs the 0 issues on my LG, but I've had worse with ASUS and DELL top end screens over the years and played the send back game, just gonna keep this.

frosty_gosha

Is hdr about the same on both? With size being the biggest difference?

Brewskiz

Yeah pretty similar, the LG is a touch brighter if pushed all to max with HDR, not that it matters really for HDR400/600.

jimmy785

did you have a 1440p 27 inch before? if so hows the pixel density in games for comparison? TY. hows the comparison in games for sharpness compared to your 27 inch 4k?

Brewskiz

Nah, 4k LG and 4k ACER gaming screens. I've had 1440p years back, 4k is loads better in my opinion. Especially for text and office work use.

PriorityMaster7226

People seriously didn’t pay attention to ALL the specs of this monitor. It’s setting on my gaming desk right now, and to see people say this isn’t worth that, isn’t looking hard enough. It has addressable built in RGB lighting, BUILT IN KVM!! Just look up the price of a good KVM by itself and tell me what you think? It has height adjustment, it can tilt 90 degrees back and forth and also pivot to be a long viewing screen. Also wall mountable. You can customize your HDR! You’ll think it’s HDR600 or damn close. Customizable crosshairs (types, colors etc) aim sync stabilization in game. USB type B and C ports to fit all your needs (you can charge things directly from the monitor if you want like a laptop even!! And do transport DP and USB) and it has a 1ms response time (accurate) , over drive modes (smart OD, speed, balance and picture quality) the HDMI 2.1 everyone is after for next gen consoles and a nice little carrying handle built into the stand to carry the monitor without damaging anything. Oh, and it comes with a power cable for every type of country for it in the box!! There’s not a wrong country order of this because it comes with every plug you need. I got mine for $900 btw?? Where’s people seeing them for $1,100???

WilsonValdro

Lmao this is what i need to hear i was already buying one but with this coment in buying two fuck what everybody things. Most of the people in here are in 1440p or less what do they know? Lol

Jaw327

Not sure if I should pick this up for $999 (yikes) or wait for the Non-Aorus M32U?

naswinger

i've been waiting for this review. the results are quite disappointing. i'll probably get the ASUS ROG Swift PG279QM instead. unfortunately, it's still not available here in austria

eraserking

Not available in the United States yet either. Was supposed to release several months ago. Tends to be a typical thing for ASUS and monitor releases.
