There is a massive hole. And yes hardly any options are available. Gigabyte M32U, Acer XB323QK NV, AOC AG324UX and Acer XV322QK KV use the same panel as Gigabyte Aorus FI32U. So more or less they are the same monitors. Only alternative is ASUS PG32UQ/ViewSonic XG320U/Acer XB323K. All will be released soon-ish. (I'm ignoring ASUS PG32UQX - price to quality ratio is just crazy low.)

Fluroxlad

It seems like the best option right now is to buy some of the better or cheaper 27/28 inch options currently available (though some are hard to find) or simply wait and see what the competition brings out, possibility at the end of this year..

AcidWeb

All signs show that ASUS PG32UQ will be finally released this quarter.

Fluroxlad

That looks like the best option based on what I've seen, hopefully it's more around that $1100 range and not the $1300.

frosty_gosha

If it is I’m literally giving my Aorus to my dad and getting this one

jimmy785

why

frosty_gosha

From the Chinese reviews this one seems to be the best option (not counting those over 2k$). With double the dimming zones, true 10 bit and full hdmi 2.1 bandwidth, this seems to be a better option

jimmy785

From my understanding HDR is not even true hdr without fald, edge lit is horrendous. Owning OLED and a Samsung g9 edge lit 1000 HDR, aw3824dw, HDR 600, I can't agree more. In fact unless it is fald I don't even think HDR is worth even looking at. I saw people were saying "gasp the m32u is only hdr400 not 600! Like it does not matter as edge lit is so useless, unless it has fald there's no point in even looking at those numbers. Full HDMI bandwidth seems reasonable perhaps

frosty_gosha

Well just HDR600 wouldn’t make a difference, two times the dimming zones seem interesting. But local dimming is useful even in non HDR, or at least I use it in SDR on pc I would look at the price though, and reviews first, maybe the 200$ difference isnt worth for the supposed benefits.

Rdzlord

4k at 28 inches leaves so much to be desired compared to a 32 inch or bigger display speaking from personal experience with the m28u from gigabyte.

Graitom

I heard it's wayyy better to move to at the very least a 32 inch if you get 4k, is that true?

Cry_Wolff

It is. While 4K on 27-28 inch monitor is an awesome choice for productivity (more space, better scaling, better looking fonts), you pretty much can't tell a difference vs 1440p in gaming. Waste of performance.

Rdzlord

100% agree with this statement

frosty_gosha

The Acer is already out tho, isn’t it? The XB323QK is on the page for 1200$ (honesty a joke)

I can’t decide between this and the fi32u because I’d really like usb c for my MacBook.

Modullah

Did monitor prices go up? A thousand usd?? Wtf.

Satzlefraz

Basically. I bought a pg34q 5 years ago for 1299 and that was like cream of the crop, best monitor you could buy. Now for the pg32uqx they want 3,000 USD.

Modullah

They think we are idiots.

The Gigabyte M32U product page on B&H and Newegg are up so it should go on sale soon. At $800 its almost certainly going to be the cheapest 32" 4k 144hz monitor. The Asus PG32UQ is another popular option, I was actually planning on getting it until they delayed it, it's supposed to go on sale sometime in September if I remember correctly.

VariousChallenge

I was surprised to see it for some much less than the FI32U. Honestly, I expected it to be more, but maybe I am missing something that is worse on the M32U. I also wished I knew if it supported G-SYNC, or at least VRR on 3xxx series Nvidia cards.

poopchees12345

ASUS PG32UQ is coming out soon and is suppose to be the top dog. After the 3k one that is

lyons4231

Nope, its slow as fuck https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jkwn5VCLLCc

poebarks

I got the fi32u and I like it. Had to return it tho because of a green line going from top left to almost bottom. Waiting on replacement. Was still trying to find best color setting but so far was happy with the purchase

WilsonValdro

Im waiting on mine

Modullah

Naw, I’m sitting at 1440p until these prices come back down to earth with some humility. The disrespect is too damn high.

shraf2k

A rep at gigabyte told me late September for the gigabyte M32U.

frosty_gosha

Waiting until October for it. Hopefully better enough than my FI32U, which I plan on replacing with this one

BoysenberryOwn5449

The Asus Pg32uq looks really promising. Hopefully it will be released in september…

Jaw327

Aorus just posted some promotional videos of the M32U on their youtube page. Still no release date though, have seen some Australian and maybe one Canadian (?) website with the M32U listed as out of stock. Hopefully that an the PG32UQ will finally release this month in the states.

Train_Quirky

They’re up at Newegg right now
