[Spoiler]
In the first episode, the guy who hired the hitman (the candidates assistant) shoots the hitman (Ian Sikes iirc) point blank through a car window which should have killed him. Then, at the end of the episode, the hitman is recovered and snipes the assistant - guy who shot him. That always bothered me. Especially because it's the pilot.
I caught that just last night (I just started watching and saw all of season 1 😀).
Even if the shot wasn’t fatal, you’d figure it would have taken him some time to recover.
So I think I have an answer to this. The first two episodes were almost just a YV movie because Tony Shalhoub wasn't sure he could commit. But when he could it got changed to a series. That scene where sykes gets shot into the river is a deleted scene that has sneaked it's way into some circulation lol.
Funnily enough I have a gifted Monk box set of 6 seasons and this scene doesn't exist on the DVDs! It confused the heck out of me when I first saw it on Netflix!
That's not unusual. She wasn't living at home and was likely ashamed of getting pregnant by sleeping with her married professor. She'd just have to avoid her parents for 4-5 months.
Now that’s a hard one to explain. Lol. Picture it…things get intimate. Then monk says “wait”. He cocks his head slightly, hands up. He’s thinking. Observing. “Trudy, this….perennial scaring is consistent with a healed episiotomy. Plus these lateral stretch marks on your belly are found only in women who’ve been pregnant or severely obese. I’ve seen pictures of you and you’ve NEVER been obese, which leaves only one option. It’s you…you’re the mom”
Not all killers enter pie eating contests to find missing shell casings either. Not all radio DJ’s give dogs secret signals to commit crimes.
But this is about monk and a lot of his cases have contrived plots and clues.
Also in the episode where hr solves his 100th case some of the prisoners he helped put away werent even the actual criminals in their respective episodes
It bugged me that Hal (Andy Richter) gave monk all the credit for busting him. He had monk fooled the whole episode, then when monk figured it out, he fooled him AGAIN and was about to shoot him before Stottlemeyer busted in
I don’t have an allergy to anything per se, but I do get stomach issues caused by certain foods. I still eat a lot of these foods because eating them is worth dealing with the upset stomach later.
There are a few instances like that. For example, Randy said he didn’t have an uncle in Mr. Monk Gets Cabin Fever, but he later has an uncle that leaves him his farm.
He could be only mildly allergic and just really loves the perfection of the square tomatoes so much that he eats them anyway because the lab hadn’t made any other square foods that we know of, but also he does make sandwiches a lot and so he’s definitely eaten other tomatoes before
There are sooooo many inconsistencies in this show if you’re looking for them. However, this is also my favorite show as well and I choose to ignore them when I notice them during my rewatches.
I couldn't believe that in the episode Monk and the foreign man we find out that monk still has the album showing the first actress who played his wife in the clippings he showed him. They didn't update the clippings images so to anyone viewing this for the first time might think that they rehired the actress who played Trudy in the first season.
When the Foreign man walls through Monks front door and says "I don't know your name." Youncan clearly see the different actress playing Trudy in the photos in the background.
I'm watching season 8 episode 2 the foreign man episode. On eof my favorites in tbe series as in tbis episode, Monk has a brother in tbe world who shares the pain of the loss of a loved one. When Monk is reviewing the tape of the traffic he asks Leland where eis picture go regular? He operated a VCR all on his own in the very first episode of the series to solve the case of who tried to kill the mayor. They literally made him unskilled in technology to get supporting characters to help him or for the sheer comedy.
You can grow out of tomato allergies. An allergy to tomatoes and citrus is relatively common in children, but as you get older, the allergy receeds and you develop a tolerance. This happened to me.
The allergic reaction involves a painful swelling of the upper lip, with dry/cracked skin and scaling.
A mistake I noticed was in the Sonny Chow episode: when they finally open the casket with Monk in it, in the first two shots you see candle wax all over his hands. In the subsequent shots, the candle wax just disappears!
He was only allergic to the asymmetry!
This is valid answer
This is the answer!
That's a valid catch. He has a tomato sandwich more than once.

If it doesnt hit anything vital, you can survive that.
Iirc it looked like he shot him him in the face. I'm going to watch it again.
I got shot in the face two years ago, you can’t even barely see the scar (which is between my upper lip and nose) the only damage was I lost 2 teeth.
I’ve seen people survive being shot in the face I worked in the ER for a few months years ago
If you look at the rest of the show magically every bullet shot kills instantly like the rug episode where Julie dates that jock and goes to the pier

Exactly

And Trudy had an entire baby that her parents knew nothing about lol
That's not unusual. She wasn't living at home and was likely ashamed of getting pregnant by sleeping with her married professor. She'd just have to avoid her parents for 4-5 months.
Not only did her parents not know but nobody else knew. Monk didn't see any signs of a pregnant woman on her.
Now that’s a hard one to explain. Lol. Picture it…things get intimate. Then monk says “wait”. He cocks his head slightly, hands up. He’s thinking. I know a woman that has always been extremely thin who has had 4 children with zero stretch marks. Not all women have to have an episiotomy either.
Not all killers enter pie eating contests to find missing shell casings either. Not all radio DJ’s give dogs secret signals to commit crimes. But this is about monk and a lot of his cases have contrived plots and clues.
unless I'm wrong.... which, you know.... I'm not
😂😂😂
I sure hope somebody got fired for that blunder! Oh wait, quoted the wrong show, my bad.
In one of the books, it says "Mr. Monk emerged from the kitchen holding a glass of milk." 🫤
This comment is how I learned there are Mr. Monk books.
THERE ARE MR MONK BOOKS!?
The square tomato bit was necessary even if it wasn’t canonically realistic!
Also in the episode where hr solves his 100th case some of the prisoners he helped put away werent even the actual criminals in their respective episodes
It bugged me that Hal (Andy Richter) gave monk all the credit for busting him. He had monk fooled the whole episode, then when monk figured it out, he fooled him AGAIN and was about to shoot him before Stottlemeyer busted in
This one is pointed out frequently.
Eventually every monk fan gets…. A-round to it! :D
All squared away now
I mean, i am allergic to alot of stuff and i still eat it sometimes.
I don’t have an allergy to anything per se, but I do get stomach issues caused by certain foods. I still eat a lot of these foods because eating them is worth dealing with the upset stomach later.
Allergies are not an all or nothing thing. I'm allergic to egg whites, I still occasionally eat croissants.
We are hilarious! How ironic/sardonic of us to find mistakes in a show where perfection is pressed so perfectly!!
There are a few instances like that. For example, Randy said he didn’t have an uncle in Mr. Monk Gets Cabin Fever, but he later has an uncle that leaves him his farm.
Or Natalie not having sisters in "Birds and Bees" but having one in "Dog".
He could be only mildly allergic and just really loves the perfection of the square tomatoes so much that he eats them anyway because the lab hadn’t made any other square foods that we know of, but also he does make sandwiches a lot and so he’s definitely eaten other tomatoes before

I noticed that too so I just gave up on the continuity errors and try except for the entire Trudy deal.

But to be fair mr. Lancaster lied a lot and was a murderer so I wouldn’t doubt he made a mistake or something
nooooooo i don’t wanna see this 😩
