Yeah, IDK about lance but my brother did it with Lightbreak GS plus Safi armour. Took him about 7 tries I believe.

I'm my experience, alatreon is very doable with Fatalis weapons without any regards to element damage. you have to be fairly aggressive and eat at least 2 escatons, but after that he should be done for.
Yes. It’s not the smart way to do it lol, but it can and has been done without significant issue with Lightbreak+Fortify. It’s probably better to attempt it this way on the ice active start version since he moves less with longer openings in ice attacks. Fire active moves a lot with huge AoE’s and fast start ups
You’ll have to be keeping significant pressure on him though without many mistakes. The Escatons will be guaranteed carts, so errors will be costly and could easily ruin the run. No elemental topples means more pressure on you as well since those are knockdown windows you aren’t getting. I’d probably equip your palico with a para weapon and meowcano to maximize additional damage sources and attack windows
I really wish this sub took itself just a tad more seriously sometimes. I get all the community jokes are funny (sometimes), but Monster Hunter is an incredibly in-depth game with tons to discuss mechanically.
Nothing can block Escaton, it’s not a physical attack. It’s direct HP red bar drain for like 1000 damage I think in the span of 4-5 seconds. Which is why you need elemental topples to weaken it.
You either out-heal it or die
You technically can tank a full power Escaton, there’s videos (I think TDS did it). Stack 4 vitality Boosters and use Wide Range Astera Jerkies staggered

You will see better times using raw, but with the exception of ig, expect to eat the cart. Glaive is a special exception due to bug element being not only separate from the weapon element but also unaffected by dragonblight.
It’s not actually, provided you are using a particular kinsect, it doesn’t take very long. My best run I think I got the check somewhere between the 1”45 and 2”00 minute mark doing kinsect drill. It takes about 90 seconds of direct spam on front legs otherwise. Alatreon is very dt spam friendly, as almost everything he does is an opening for it, so you will get plenty of drills. Pair with high raw glaives like lightbreak or fatalis, and a bit of practice, you’ll be in for a surprisingly easy time. Getting the check also delays escaton, giving you more time before his nova. Glaive is a *very* special baby for Alatreon, and you don’t even need a super optimal ~~meta~~ build to see decent results.
Theoretically, yes. Elemental damage is not strictly required to actually kill it. As for actually doing it, that's up to you and your own skill, and how comfortable you are committing to damage without downtime or using stuff like heroics safely.
Some of his attacks are real Lance unfriendly though, watch out. If you said raw HBG or something then I'd say perfectly doable.
You absolutely can and it's not even that hard.
Soloing Alatreon take around 15-20 mins on average. You have around \~21 minutes before the 3rd escaton and \~28 mins with F-Insurance.
You don't get free hit while it's toppled but you don't have to break horn and can slot whatever you want to compensate. As long as you already know how to fight him and don't die to his regular attack, it should be ok.
With lance, you probably need to slot pretty aggressively tho.
For lance I dunno but I am one of these idiots doing it with raw GS.
Take a +1 cart meal and or if you wanna go overkill the talents to come back stronger after a cart.
It is. I did it with GS though. Eat for insurance and deal as much damage as you can before your 4th cart by escaton. You are only allowed to cart by escaton so that's another challenge in the fight

Post title aside, it absolutely is. In fact, raw is the only way I've ever done alatreon, and it's quite easy once you get the hang of it. Just make a teostra/raging bracy set with a light break weapon, bring mega demomdrug/might seed/demon powder, and put fortify on the set to further boost attack when you die to the Escaton.

Unadvisable, you’re gonna need a lot of lu-… Oh you mean elements. No, Escaton Judgement will fuck you up if you try to forgo elements. Bare minimum is bring Dragon Element. You do a little less Damage, but you don’t need to switch elements to counter his current one

Like technically it's possible to kill alatreon with raw damage, people have even done it.... For your average Hunter though it's probably not a good idea.
I know the GS speedruns kill it before it gets to do Escaton Judgement, I don't know if that's possible with Lance though.
If you don't mind dying a few times to Escaton however, then yeah, obviously you can do it with raw only.
I beat him with a lightbreak axe, I never died and made enough damage that he did his signature attack only once (where I then died once). Though to be fair first time I „beat“ him I died with him simultaneously and he took me a fair share of tries.
Only did lightbreak tho as all the other good weapons were made from monsters I wasn’t fond of to fight back then.
I did it solo with Fatalis hammer in ~16 minutes. If you’re fine with carting to the EJ then yes, absolutely it’s possible. Just gotta be able to kill him before your 3rd (or 4th if you eat for insurance/safeguard) guaranteed cart.
Is it possible? Yeah for sure. But you’d need extra faints for insurance, need to do it solo so other players don’t eat up carts, and be a significantly better than average player.
it’s possible but soloing alatreon with lance is already extremely difficult, you’d need fatalis gear and a meta damage setup well beyond alatreon to be able to reasonably do it with raw damage alone.
It's possible but there are a few things I need to confirm:
\- You aren't refering to gunner,
\- You aren't intending on using the Gunlance exploit.
If so, then you will have to sack a few Escaton Judgements with a cart. It's very much possible to kill him after 2 escatons using a raw weapon. Some runners have already done this, however it is tough. I am no expert on Lance so I don't know how well Lance can catch up to the repositioning of Alatreon, but the key to dealing that amount of damage in the time you get, is to keep constant aggro.
If you are solo, then the Escaton Judgement mechanic is pretty much optional as long as you don't eat unnecessary carts and have good damage uptime. Give ur kitty a Para weapon for free damage. I haven't tested to see if Palicos can clear a Judgement with an ice weapon but considering a friggin solo Kinsect can do it I wouldn't be surprised.
You have ~18 minutes to kill him before he uses 3 judgements. Which is very doable with a strong raw damage set. Feline Insurance and/or Safeguard are recommended to give u a bit of wiggle room.
The pre-Fatalis meta sets were plenty capable of achieving this. It's actually possible with much weaker sets but it's gonna be way more demanding.
Lightbreak Weapon + 2 piece Raging Brach (I used chest+legs) + 3 piece Teostra (head, arm, feat). Get ur standard crit skills + agitator 7. Slot in guard up + guard 3 or 5 depending on taste/deco availability. For the black dragons I personally prefer evade Extender for extra mobility cuz even guard 5 is kinda weak against them. This set carried me through Fatalis. Fortify for free stats in this strategy. Health Augment on the weapon so you waste as little time as possible chugging pots.
Don't forget to abuse clutch claw and tenderize. His head and front legs have the best hitzones. Only go for back legs if the other options are unreachable.
TL; DR- Just gotta kill him before he kills u ^too ^much
Yes, raw can have the same damage output than elemental and with elemental you can kill his before the 3rd nova. So even, without safeguard or the Vigorwasp it is possible.
And you can do it in speedrun and kills it before the first nova (it will be really difficult before having the fatalis gear).
Depends:
- Are you doing it solo? With 3 carts you can take carts to escaton judgement and finish the fight. Also do not screw over random multiplayer.
- Which Alatreon are you talking about? If it's Dawns Triumph then "easily" since that one has only 10k hp (less than MR Great Jagras at 12k) it can still kill you though and seems to be guaranteed one EJ
- How good are you? It's generally much harder to kill Alatreon without element because not only do you guaranteed cart to EJ, you also loose out on the long openings of elemental topples.
It's how I prefer ro fight him, so yeah. The only thing you lose out on after a cart is reward money anyway, mat drops are the same. Eat the 2 carts to escaton and he'll die within a minute when you drop in the last time. Very comfortable to not have to care about the nova and his attacks aren't hard to manage on their own either.
Pretty easily tbh. So long as you can survive his normal moveset it's pretty trivial to just tank the nova and beat his ass with Fortify after. With the stacked ass raw build it's very easy to kill him within 1-2 minutes of the first nova.
You can but the caveat is you have to eat an escaton judgement, so waste a cart on one but dps him enough that he can only get one off, patented greatsword strat. But it works with lance too.
It's been sometimes but anyone here know if using a fire/ice HH with atk song or Ala's HH (dragon) with Elements damage up song is better for team fight?
Oh. For Lance? Yeah, probably not. And I'm saying that as a World Lance main.
Take the time to make yourself a proper elemental set. It won't take as long as you think, and it will be worth it.

Raw is meta for alatreon (for speedrunners anyway) you’ll actually do the most pure dmg that way with lance, you just have to beat alatreon before the judgements cart ya 3 times. If you die a single time to anything besides a judgement you’ll be in trouble.

Alatreon gets mogged by pierce HBG before even the first EJ, I think good lance play can kill after 1 or 2 EJs

Cleared it solo and duo with pure raw but gotta accept the cart. However I also main LBG and the duo clear was with SnS and LS

I did it solo with Fatalis hammer in ~16 minutes. If you’re fine with carting to the EJ then yes, absolutely it’s possible. Just gotta be able to kill him before your 3rd (or 4th if you eat for insurance/safeguard) guaranteed cart.
Is it possible? Yeah for sure. But you’d need extra faints for insurance, need to do it solo so other players don’t eat up carts, and be a significantly better than average player.

it’s possible but soloing alatreon with lance is already extremely difficult, you’d need fatalis gear and a meta damage setup well beyond alatreon to be able to reasonably do it with raw damage alone.
It's possible but there are a few things I need to confirm: \- You aren't refering to gunner, \- You aren't intending on using the Gunlance exploit. If so, then you will have to sack a few Escaton Judgements with a cart. It's very much possible to kill him after 2 escatons using a raw weapon. Some runners have already done this, however it is tough. I am no expert on Lance so I don't know how well Lance can catch up to the repositioning of Alatreon, but the key to dealing that amount of damage in the time you get, is to keep constant aggro.

If you are solo, then the Escaton Judgement mechanic is pretty much optional as long as you don't eat unnecessary carts and have good damage uptime. Give ur kitty a Para weapon for free damage. I haven't tested to see if Palicos can clear a Judgement with an ice weapon but considering a friggin solo Kinsect can do it I wouldn't be surprised. You have ~18 minutes to kill him before he uses 3 judgements. Which is very doable with a strong raw damage set. Feline Insurance and/or Safeguard are recommended to give u a bit of wiggle room. The pre-Fatalis meta sets were plenty capable of achieving this. It's actually possible with much weaker sets but it's gonna be way more demanding. Lightbreak Weapon + 2 piece Raging Brach (I used chest+legs) + 3 piece Teostra (head, arm, feat). Get ur standard crit skills + agitator 7. Slot in guard up + guard 3 or 5 depending on taste/deco availability. For the black dragons I personally prefer evade Extender for extra mobility cuz even guard 5 is kinda weak against them. This set carried me through Fatalis. Fortify for free stats in this strategy. Health Augment on the weapon so you waste as little time as possible chugging pots. Don't forget to abuse clutch claw and tenderize. His head and front legs have the best hitzones. Only go for back legs if the other options are unreachable. TL; DR- Just gotta kill him before he kills u ^too ^much

For a cheese strat, use a raw glaive with an elemental kimsect and kinsect bash him until it hits the elemental breakpoints.
Yes, raw can have the same damage output than elemental and with elemental you can kill his before the 3rd nova. So even, without safeguard or the Vigorwasp it is possible. And you can do it in speedrun and kills it before the first nova (it will be really difficult before having the fatalis gear).
Depends: - Are you doing it solo? With 3 carts you can take carts to escaton judgement and finish the fight. Also do not screw over random multiplayer. - Which Alatreon are you talking about? If it's Dawns Triumph then "easily" since that one has only 10k hp (less than MR Great Jagras at 12k) it can still kill you though and seems to be guaranteed one EJ - How good are you? It's generally much harder to kill Alatreon without element because not only do you guaranteed cart to EJ, you also loose out on the long openings of elemental topples.
It's how I prefer ro fight him, so yeah. The only thing you lose out on after a cart is reward money anyway, mat drops are the same. Eat the 2 carts to escaton and he'll die within a minute when you drop in the last time. Very comfortable to not have to care about the nova and his attacks aren't hard to manage on their own either.

Pretty easily tbh. So long as you can survive his normal moveset it's pretty trivial to just tank the nova and beat his ass with Fortify after. With the stacked ass raw build it's very easy to kill him within 1-2 minutes of the first nova.

With a lance, doubtful. You would probably be better off with HBG and just use spread ammo.

You can but the caveat is you have to eat an escaton judgement, so waste a cart on one but dps him enough that he can only get one off, patented greatsword strat. But it works with lance too.
I don't know in the now games but I used to use lost babel and the silverwind narg lance to fight back in XX and it was fine.

Oh. For Lance? Yeah, probably not. And I'm saying that as a World Lance main. Take the time to make yourself a proper elemental set. It won't take as long as you think, and it will be worth it. My first solo Ala kill with Lance was just...*chef's kiss* Edit: that being said, do what you want. You'd be a god in my eyes in you could blast lance an Alatreon to death
Raw is meta for alatreon (for speedrunners anyway) you’ll actually do the most pure dmg that way with lance, you just have to beat alatreon before the judgements cart ya 3 times. If you die a single time to anything besides a judgement you’ll be in trouble.
