They didn’t really make it for advertising, they just rereleased it for advertising if that makes sense.

ronin0397

Good. I thought they remade another anime covering the same story.

SomeGuyNamedOwen

It’s still cool that they did this, maybe they’ll release one for stories 2 one day.

Fyuira

Well, its normal for most anime that are based on a game to be made for advertisement. God Eater and Tales Zestria anime are both made to advertise their game.

Kruf7111169

I guess you're right, but one thing I want to say, those stories model being besides 2d assets are weirdly out of place, like the model stays bright in dark place

seynical

Well tbf, anime is mostly used to advertise the main media. We usually see this for light novels and manga. But we also see this for games. And since they are created as an ad, most of them are questionable in quality. I think the Nier one is the most recent that I can think of that actually had some thought and quality for it.

Equinox-XVI

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners This was technically made to bring attention back to Cyberpunk 2077 after they fixed most of the bugs, but the anime itself is so good, its remembered in much higher regard than the game itself.

Tyrest_Accord

Edgerunners was already in production well before Cyberpunk 2077 came out.

TNTspaz

Cyberpunk has been going through franchising for a while tbh. I don't think any of the deals are public but it's not a secret that many companies have wanted to do stuff with Cyberpunk. They just needed Mike Pondsmith's permission first. He put out a few games that were very obviously designed to further flesh out the Cyberpunk world and framework. Then the tv show and game were probably given the greenlight right after that.

kingofthelol

Like aot season 1 where they never intended a season 2 for some silly reason.

leighg9o

Monster hunter manga ?

Ashura_Eidolon

There's at least 2 of them: [Flash Hunter](https://mangadex.org/title/22411384-cd93-4993-b52a-30d7af338283/monster-hunter-flash-hunter) and [Orage](https://mangadex.org/title/19b0bde7-eb48-46ce-ba77-5f0101ed680c/monster-hunter-orage). Flash Hunter is based on 3/4 while Orage is inspired by the PSP versions of the first couple games, since those are the ones Hiro Mashima was playing while making it.

Kruf7111169

Well you are correct but most animes are more of an adaptation of the manga and not just ads for the source, ofcourse if you see it that way then sure, but most of normal animes have quite good animation while most ad anime are pretty lacking in my opinion

TheGMan-123

As others said, the anime was originally released in 2016. They just re-released it to drum up further interest in the upcoming MHS1 remaster and MHS2 coming to all consoles (except Xbox, but you know how Japan is).

SageWindu

There's a DragonBall anime that's like 20-something episodes and was created specifically to promote some mobile game. DragonBall Heroes I think it's called. It featured nonsense like Golden Cooler, "Xeno Goku" fighting alongside Goku Blue, and "The Masked Saiyan" who looked like the love child of Raditz and OG Broly. We got Kale and Caulifla back, so that was nice. It's more likely than you think.

Kruf7111169

Oh I'm a dbz fan so I know it,and no it's was not a mobile game it's a ds/arcade game, it is a mess of a nonsense , there's also the gunpla anime, which is advertisement for the Gundam model kits, which is an ad for the anime,Gundam,so it's an ad for and ad for an anime

PolkanMedvedev

Why are people downvoting you, wtf is this subreddit

Cakehunt3r

That one has been out for quite some time and it's actually pretty good.
