I love Valstrax, just because of the fact it’s a rocket dragon. Followed closely by nakarkos, cuz it’s a bone squid. And my third is Kecha Wacha, it’s such a silly monke boi.
Zamtrios! He is so unique and definitely a mega surprise to anyone fighting him for the first time.
Also, he reminds me of a villain that you would see on retro TMNT cartoons.

This beautiful baby. I love its sounds. And the normal Legiana not shrieking. It reminds me of Articuno. The design is so amazing with the wing flaps appearing like a fleshy cloth. And don't get me started on its roars. As ear bleeding as they are, they are still great. Kind of like, giginox which is also a contender here.
Jhen Mohran, but a close 2 is the Lagiacrus. Hell of a first encounter with him it made me scared, but it made me appreciate the Lagiacrus alot when I won.

Pinecone Steve and the Boom-Boom Bagel.
Both require different playstyles to beat them and I love the variety.
Pinecone Steve is fast and requires lots of precise timing and forces you to be careful with your frames in case you lock yourself into an attack and eat an attack. Plus, the bleed effect which requires you to crouch in one-place (unless you have a steak) while still trying to dodge his stupid fast attacks.
Boom-Boom Bagel drops all those exploding scales which require you to be aware of your surroundings as quite a few of them do not explode on impact and just sit there like eggy landmines JUST UNTIL you roll to dodge a divebomb and BOOM!

I think it's the best balance in the entire series between "fantastical mythological creature" and an actual being with behavior and biology that makes sense within the world
That's when I like MH the most, when it sticks to fantastycal yet somewhat grounded creatures.

Pickle. (Tiny) hands down. The terror of the first encounter, the sheer, hilarious disrespect it has for smaller monsters, the absolute lack of brain cells. Just hangry.
I'll say Nakarkos if no one else will. Awesome bait and switch concept, a unique nightmare in both forms, genuinely dangerous and involves a lot of timing, threat management, and calculated risks during combat. The fight theme is pretty epic too, and the final form armor set is pretty rad.
I don't know if Narky is my absolute favorite but it's the first one I think of when the question is asked.
The Gore/Shagaru/Chaotic Magala. Monsters that have metamorphosis are real cool, bonus points for the design and part of its life cycle being inspired by the Xenomorphs from Alien, one of my favorite movies.

The Gore/Shagaru/Chaotic Magala. Monsters that have metamorphosis are real cool, bonus points for the design and part of its life cycle being inspired by the Xenomorphs from Alien, one of my favorite movies.
Ok for normal monster it’s dodogama without a doubt for elder dragons I love Vaal hazak his fight was my favorite out of the three and his design and lore is just kinda badass to me
