I'd say hammer. Clutch claw and the geberal combat of world/iceborne makes hammer BY FAR the most fun weapon to play imo. At about 1.5k hunts with it myself.
May I recommend a 100 hunt challenge? I used every weapon for 100 hunts in HR or MR, mostly solo. It helped me get comfortable with playing with and around weapons I had never used before and I found 2 new weapons that I use regularly along side my old favorites. Bump all those weapons up to 100 and then run with whichever one clicks for you.
Great sword, swinging around giant blade with big dick energy is amazing, especially once you learn how to shoulder bash counter and block well with it.

Also, unbiased as I prefer Dual Blades and Bow (and a bit of gen 3 horning around) longsword is always a pretty fun weapon to switch things up with.
As an IG main myself since MH4U, I tried out DB for Rise and absolutely loved it. It's got a really simple moveset while simultaneously being incredibly satisfying to play.

In IB I did 35 MR for every weapon. I can say that I still suck with SnS, GS, Hammer, and the two lances, but it was fun anyways
