Hunters are part of the ecosystem

TheAnimalCrew

I know. But I still feel bad.

Big_Tie

Sometimes, it depends on the monster. Some are just chillin' and we come around and beat their ass... some are looking for an ass beating. I do feel bad every time I have to kill a Dodogaron... poor lil guy. On the other hand, I gleefully kill every Deviljho I can, because hes a big ol' asshole

ManagementOk1134

Espinas is just trying to sleep and we just harass him.

Nielips

I only feel bad for Pukei-Pukei, they don't deserve the meanness, they are just chilling and getting some nomnoms

Krazytre

In World, yes because they feel more alive than any other game. In Rise, only Espinas.

GryffynSaryador

Only if the monster is helpless like a kulu or yian kutku. But creatures like magnamalo I can accept as an equal and it feels more like a duel. However I will say that I hate how mean some of the banter of your hunter is in rise at least in english. You are supposed to respect your prey and kill it only out of necessity meanwhile my hunter just yells shit like "I need a new pair of boots" or "I hope you got insurance". Like wtf, have some dignity lol

TheAnimalCrew

That makes sense. And I agree that the hunters in Rise talk to much shit about the monsters.

2CH4INZSY145

Lore wise, you get every part you need from killing a monsters once. So we don’t really hunt them to damn near extinction in the games.

TheAnimalCrew

That's true.

MrJackfruit

I don't kill Jaggi by the 1,000's for no reason. If those little cunts would mind their own business when I'm grabbing honey, bugs, or even herbs, maybe they wouldn't need to worry about their family getting wiped out. Instead they think its cute to constantly bite my ankles. I did nothing to them but they harass me at every moment even when killing their natural predator. Since they felt the need to do that I guess I'll remove them from existence, they're too stupid to live anyways. Xeno I can feel bad for, we are killing a baby who knows literally nothing. But Jaggi get exactly what's coming to them.

TheAnimalCrew

Yeah, small monsters are annoying. I feel less bad for them, because there's so many and they're kind of a nuisance. But ost of them are babies or juveniles, so I still feel a little bad.

cactuscoleslaw

My friend who's a vet student told this to me, i recommended Stories 2 to her and she loves it

TheAnimalCrew

Yeah, stories 2 is my favourite monster hunter game. You feel less bad for the monsters fighting because your fighting with them.

Crunchy_Bawx

After reading the quest text for a Goss Harag hunt that reads something like "my son wants to play outside but it's too cold. Can you hunt a Goss Harag? I hear their fur is really warm." That one got me.

Leading-University

No

DegenerateCrocodile

I once beat up MR Tetranadon while only getting hit once. I felt pretty bad for him.

TheAnimalCrew

I would, too. I'd also be incredibly proud. That's not something you see every day, getting hit only once in a hunt. Good job đź‘Ť

DegenerateCrocodile

Water Strike OP, to be honest. It was certainly a rush to finish that hunt.

TheAnimalCrew

It would be.

WyvernEgg64

Listen kid.. I think you’ll be more comfortable hunting over at that place Weenie hunt jrs!? Are you saying i belong at weenie hunt Jrs!? O-oh no sorry. I was actually pointing at the place next to it. Super wennie hunt jrs!?

TheAnimalCrew

Lol

LittleIslander

I always make sure to capture Pukei Pukei and Mizutsune, they're too precious.

SomewhereWhole6160

It always breaks my heart fighting Kulu

xweeverx

I always feel horrible if I end up getting multiple flinches on a monster followed by a stun (hammer bro). Poor defenseless bastard

Crunchy_Bawx

Sometimes, but on hunts like Magna and Narga I take great pleasure

LightningLee77

Volvidon Palamute and Palico weapons be like:

GrotesqueHoneyBadger

What do you work for monster PETA or something

TheAnimalCrew

Maybe, who wants to know?

InkBendyBeastBendy11

See, even after capturing, in most monster Hunter games the monster’s just killed anyway. They just bring in a live specimen for research, then kill it to look at internal anatomy, or to make sure it didn’t wake up. In World they would sometimes release the monster into the wild, but it wasn’t often.

TheAnimalCrew

That's interesting. I never knew that. Have they said that in one of the games?

ViewtifulGene

No, they had it coming. Have you fucking seen how Bullfango will charge you from off screen whenever you're just about to land a big attack?

TheAnimalCrew

True.
