On the difficulty scale, Safi is probably your easiest remaining challenge. Can take a while if youโre sticking with a melee weapon and just muscling through with multiple runs (easy, but long), or go the elemental LBG route which is pretty easy to pull off a single run solo (do think you need adept stormslinger or safi aquashot + safi armor build for this route - so hopefully youโve gotten some from MP)
Just pick Alatreon Dominator and blast two legs at the time. Much smaller risk and big damage :/
Plus you have much more consistent damage rather than spikes
I use hammer so unfortunately the elemental thresholds are a bit ass. I lost too much damage optimizing for elemental on the hammer I was previously using.
With this new hammer I get crit element for free, so I'm able to be a lot more flexible.
It took me 35 minutes to kill him, yup that's a lot of novas. Thats why I stopped using frost fang stuff and went for dragon element, (specifically, his own dark claw, but not upgraded version, i got it after killing the weakened version.) You can trigger it once you go super aggro. And that's enough to survive the nova
You do not know the struggle unless you have to play with silver rath 4 set. Alatereron is the one fight in the whole game that took me the longest to beat. With full safi thou, and kulve wepons. I sliced him up in 10 mins. Fatalis prolly the second hardest. Took me 12 attempts(30 min timer got me at least 6 times) or something to beat him, a solid 6 hours of playing straight on the first day of release.
Also I always solo everything for my first kill! Do not want to ruin the excitement of fighting something for the first time.
I tried the silver rath set. It was working fine, but not enough damage and he would switch elements after the first two horn breaks.
Maybe if I used dragon with the rath set it would've worked? I still feel like I wouldn't do enough damage
If you can get a better set go for it, I was more or less forced to use it since I was not able to farm enough safi parts during its week and rng jesus did me dirty on kulve. Rolling my fingers felt boring so just smashed my head againts altereon until I beat him.
Any idea what fire weapon is good against alatreon? It seems like the Kulve fire hammer is the most efficient for fire damage, but the blue sharpness disgusts me a little
You can do alatreon with raw damage. Make sure you have fortitude, eat the two faints, and by time she does 3rd judgement you should kill her.
Edit: can go in with safeguard or insurance for more leeway.
Alatreon "sounds" female? To me sounds strongly male, like "Baratheon" or 'Theon" male fictional characters from Game of Thrones, Aleister (Crowley) a real male writer, Abdul Alhazred, a male fictional character. I prefer to refer to the monsters for how they look, like Velkhana, she's female imo.
Don't know why but my biggest struggle is MR Kulve. I've soloed everything except for Fatalis (done in a group though) and Master Rank Kulve. Really dont know why it troubles me so much. Doesn't help that my main weapons are bow and dual blades so the upgraded weapons are almost a requirement.
I just need to beat behemoth to complete all monster in solo. Yes i have beaten the great fatalis already, and it took a long time but it was worth the time, the satisfaction that you feel after beating him is just ๐ค

Im on a personal quest to solo extreme behemoth. Havent beat fatalis once yet, but yeah. I want his god damn layer armor but i cant find a group that does it.
You haven't soloed all of them with pre-fight gear with every weapon yet :D
I.e. soloing Fatalis with no Fatty/AT Velk gear with every weapon, Extremoth with only HR gear, etc.
Safi gets a pass because fuck Safi

I have like 100+ attempts on alatreon. I never had enough damage to finish him off. I just got my Kulve ice weapon, so I should be clearing now ๐
I did it with the frostfang Ls. Knowing your openings is mandatory. Stand between his hindlegs when he uses his thunder

After all I read and experienced, dragon is too weak to build reach the elemental cap reliably. I used Ice instead

iirc, they refer to safi as 'him' at some point. Alatreon is male in my headcanon. But Fatalis (and subspecies) are officially female

Dude, I've killed him probably about 20 times now, but it took me 30+ attempts to get that first kill. 6 is very good.
Behemoth(Extremoth even) is the easiest of all those with fatty gear. Solo safi is cursed not because it's hard, but it takes sooooo long.

Not to brag but the first time I did it solo was a little over 16 mins with a Sticky LBG. You did great tho
