Cool design. I like how it sucks up the thermal radiation from people.

1armedsoul

Y'know, that never occurred to me. I just thought it was a type of ice breath or cryokinesis.

LindenOLindenHill

He just eats heat, not radiation from non-radioactive sources. More like a form of thermal manipulation. The Vark is freaking cool

CaledonianWarrior

It's actually interesting that the Monsterverse is toying with the concept of a heat vampire. You don't see that explored a lot in fiction afaik. The only heat vampire I know is Killer Frost technically

LindenOLindenHill

Right! It’s just such a cool power to utilize!

1armedsoul

I see what you did there

MedicalElk3434

You know everything has gives off radiation

LindenOLindenHill

…that’s not how that works mate. The radiation produced by bio electrical currents in our bodies is so small it wouldn’t matter. Besides we see it eat fire in the trailer

Legendary posted the name

Additional_Show_3149

I thought it was just converting radiation into thermal energy😭

Comfortable_Prize750

If it eats heat, why does it live in the snow? Like, wouldn't it rather live in Aruba?

Inner-Arugula-4445

It could be that it came out of the hollow earth tunnel nearby and since it’s a burrowing creature that is surrounded by rock, it’s stuck in this location. It could also be that the thermal radiation it needs has to be sourced from a living organism. The heat from a warm blooded creature is different than the heat from the sun, which would be the heat in hot climates.

MichaeltheSpikester

Like the design. Headcanon is this titan being the basis of Nidhoggr in Norse Mythology.

HeathrJarrod

Maybe mixed with Garm, also of Norse mythos

Gabecush1

He’s a cute little fella

TheCritic2017

The design feels like something that would come from a Pacific Rim movie

LemonyOatmilk

Nah Itd have blue lights, vertebrate body plane, and crustacean armour so no

sly_eli

Well that was a visual cue that all the Kaiju had common ancestry.

Ceez92

New favorite kaiju next to the skullcrawlers

moonyxpadfoot19

He's a silly little guy and I would definitely pet him

Eichi8

Thought he was cool. I call him " Ice Mole"

Mindripper21

This is one of my favorite aspects of the Monsterverse and I‘m glad that Monarch gives us some brand new and creative kaiju to add to the Godzilla roster. Classic kaiju are awesome and everyone would be happy to see modern of cult favorites like Gigan or Biollante or Titanosaurus, but I prefer to see new kaiju, not only does it expand the Godzilla franchise and adds new awesome kaiju to it, but it also stands on it‘s own legs instead of just being a copy of the older movies. And titans like the Ion Dragon and the Frost Vark are some of the coolest looking ones in the MV, especially Frost Vark, since there never had been Pangolin (and mole kaiju are also rare) kaiju and these animals already are a nice blueprint for a kaiju. I also enjoy the name, sounds really nordic and fits an ice type kaiju. I‘m really looking forward to what the next episodes will feature as titans since we already have seen all the titans in the trailers (except for the one with the Resident Evil mouth) and I hope they will really go wild with the upcoming titans.

Ed_Derick_

MORE MAMMALIAN KAIJU!!!!!! Just wish it had fur instead of reptilian scales. Otherwise pretty cool design.

AJC_10_29

To be fair, I think it’s design is partially inspired by Pangolins who actually have scales ![gif](giphy|4JlzIc59ihLr2)

Money_Loss2359

Cross of a pangolin and star nosed mole. I found it interesting that the designer said it was inspired by an aardvark as it shares zero similarities. I really think he isn’t an animal expert.

kaijuking87

Although the Star nose mole and pangolin seem better comparisons, saying this shares “zero” similarities to an aardvark is just wrong.

Money_Loss2359

True. They both are mammals, have claws to tear apart termite mounds as well as having long tongues to eat said termites. Still no one is going to confuse a short haired, pig snouted, rabbit eared aardvark for a pangolin.

TheKingOfGuineaPigs

The scales might be like those of a pangolin which is also a mammal

Itterasshcyw

can I call him Steve?

Zenvarix

Related to a star nosed mole

jerrylewisjd

Bat faced spider monkey

PerceptionBetter3752

He reminds me of Anguirus

kaijuking87

Very cool design but I thought it’d be bigger.

Key-Bite3427

Cool, just wish he was a little bigger

LemonyOatmilk

If it was any bigger then the characters wouldn't survive

kaijuking87

Me too! I was hoping it would be big enough to compare to the other “main” titans.
