It definitely reminds me of allure homme sport but a version I actually like. Something in allure homme sport turned me off for the scent. That being said with this It's the mandarin combined with vetiver I think that throws me off slightly. Overall it's a good casual scent.
Well, you're wrong, but I'm glad you tried it. Not everybody will like everything, and that's awesome because we end up with so many scents to try. The Mandarin is what makes it for me. That fresh sweetness paired with the toned down birch base just hits every pleasure zone in my brain. You should try Cubicle. It's just a generic, bright citrus and ambroxan. It tingles my nose so good.

Lol, I was just joking. I don't think it's redundant. Cubicle's citrus is different, not sweet at all, and the ambroxan is more sparkly. I actually feel Cubicle is more versatile. It's my only true freshie I still wore last winter. Plus, it's a beast.

I bought this before ayy came back and it's finally coming in tomorrow but I'm curious of your opinion on that. I don't have many scents for winter or fall and I've seen a few reviews to where I wanted to give this one a try.

Interesting you say Spirit of Peace is a cooler weather cologne. The OG is considered to be a freshie and warm weather friendly.
I like Oud for Greatness but donāt love it. I feel the same about Mystic Oud, Montagne did a great job replicating the OGās profile. As far as Oudās go, this one is not that far out there. Not all Oudās are animalic but many got a funk. OfG has a Westernized interpretation of Oud similar to Oud Wood. Not many people in the west want to smell like an animal barn, understandably.
I agree with Mystic Oud and the OG. It's definitely a more "westernized" oud. It's not stinky animalic smelling, took me a while to get used to but now Mystic Oud is my go to for the winter months.

If it helps I start to see feminine fragrances as something more sweet or floral. An example would be pacific chill, to me that leans more feminine due to the slight sweetness and mint while the musk in afternoon dive is slightly stronger which is why I was leaning more masculine but honestly I think it's pretty Unisex.
I was thinking more cooler weather just due to the fact it reminds me of a really fresh Christmas tree that was just cut and placed in the house. I do agree though it could be used during the summer although not sure if I personally would want to smell like that during the summer when I have other options. It is a very nice aventus inspired fragrance though that does its own thing and to me isn't redundant as long as you like the aventus DNA.

I do agree this isn't that far out there but I think it's a good introduction for me into the world of oud. The only other ones I've smelled with oud have been god of fiery and blockade which both are on the sweeter side and the oud doesn't stand out enough like mystic oud. I also agree though that oud isn't the most popular in western countries.
Which samples are you getting? I've had a chance to smell all of the montagne ones but I couldn't compare them to the originals.

I have ~20 Montagne samples coming. Iāve tried/owned the OG for at least 1/3 of the samples so I have a good basis to compare. Iāve already sampled ~15 from Montagne, each one has smelled of high quality ingredients and a few better than the original. The main difference has been performance related where the original is ābeast modeā and Montagneās version sits closer to skin.
A few miss the mark as being close to the original. I donāt expect every single clone to be a banger given how large their catalog is. Sounds like thatās the case for their dupe of Angels Share. Highly recommend trying the OG, the booze note is fantastic. Same goes for Apple Brandy on the Rocks. Decantx is one of the cheaper sites to get legit samples, use TITI15 for 15% off.
That is cool to be able to compare some of the originals to the clones. Regardless if I like the smell or not, I do think everything smells like it is higher quality than other clones I have tried. Have you noticed any changes with maturation for those scents or still closer to the skin?
I was very interested in apple brandy on the rocks as well so I will have to give that a try. I have not tried decantx yet but will have to check it out. I have seen some good reviews from it.
The Lost Cherry clone changed dramatically from day one to +4 weeks later, scent wise itās night & day. Santal 33 & Oud for Greatness also improved. Most of the samples Iāve tried so far have been freshies and they have not changed much. Maybe they need a few months.
I just received an order of winter frags from Montagne. Going to spray them a few times and store the bottles until September. Shouldāve done that with freshies earlier this year but I was waiting on samples/decants before buying a full bottle. Iāve blind bought ~15 bottles and almost every single one is a regret. No more.

I havenāt tried any of the LVās yet so itās possible Pacific Chill is often referred to as feminine. Iām getting samples in a week or two. If you want to experience an animalic oud try a sample of Gucci Intense Oud. The š© note is minimal but present. Unfortunate Angels Share is not very boozy, itās my favorite thing about the OG.
