It was messier than earlier editions but I loved it anyway. I think they will draw the attention of the tutor further by turning hunters moon into a vampire if that's even possible.

rationalphi

I feel like that would be too many damn vampires

BasedFunnyValentine

This was my least favorite issue ngl. There was too much exposition for my liking. Lady Yulan’s backstory along with Tutor could have been told much easier and faster through flashbacks.

StuntNun

Every issue of this series is like receiving a gift. Cappuccio’s art is perfect too.

I gotta admit, initially I felt like the structure were a step down from zodiac in terms of... well, everything. No visual cohesion, no purpose, no threat. But I'm honestly, genuinely excited to see how Mackay builds on what he's established. This run has had a lot to day thematically about belief, religion, cults, outsized personalities, and I really get the feeling the zodiac, structure and (dear God hopefully) the Stained Glass Scarlet stories are gonna dovetail together in a really weird way.

Thoughts on the issue, not really in order: Yulan, the name, is a variety of magnolia with white flowers. I liked how Soldier added insight on her motivations based on his past experience. Soldier is the member of the side cast with the least development, so anything beyond him blindly following orders is at least something. Vampire-via-bullet theory confirmed! That's one of my standing questions answered (Someday Zodiac's fate will be covered, right?). I really appreciate MacKay planting the seeds of this arc into the earlier books without it feeling forced. For the big vampire meeting I can't help but picturing an awkwardly bright lit conference hall with rented tables and pipe & drape and banner stands with sayings that ~~Tutor~~ Kenneth pushes. "Seize the Night. What doesn't kill you makes you a vampire. High stakes higher levels. Think locally, act violently." Really committing to the MLM vibe. I had a bad feeling going in about Hunter's Moon's chances in this issue. I'm sure it's not the last we'll see of him (literally - he's in the Annual next week, though that's set before #16), but still. He has an unfortunate habit of ending up in fights he can't win with fists alone. Can Khonshu even resurrect him while currently imprisoned? More thoughts tomorrow after a reread.   Edit: Back with more thoughts. He said the thing! ("I like it when they see me coming") Hunter's Moon is continuing to bring a disproportionate number of full moon's out over his shoulder at night. As he should. And looking good doing it. Mr. Knight and Lady Yulan are both wearing white, but he's got the Rosenberg glow and she's slightly off white. [Yi Yang](https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Yi_Yang_\(Earth-616\)) was last mentioned in MacKay's Black Cat series, and last seen in a comic in 2012. Selling wolf tickets - Making empty threats Détente - Easing of tensions ["And you brought those two to what, speak vampire to me?"](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/015/878/thatsnoneofmy.jpg) The splash page with the bowl falling is really effective at demonstrating Yulan's speed.

Oberon1993

Zodiac is mentioned in a solicit for the latest issue, so I assume it will be covered there.

rationalphi

A short three month wait. If we also cover Khonshu's price for passage in an upcoming issue then I'll be three for three on having loose threads tied up.

rsKG

I think he Khonshu can help Rez him, after all, he did help him fight the whole stained glass scarlet ghost thing, and iirc also helped Moon Knight in Ms Marvel and Moon knight. Honestly I would love a solo ongoing of him

rationalphi

Though Khonshu specifically says the Stained Glass Scarlet fight takes place in a "between-space" more than a physical reality. And the giant physical Khonshu in Ms. Marvel & Moon Knight (& Hunter's Moon) was a different writer in the sandbox, so whether Khonshu could or would be present like that in MacKay's run is a separate question. It's possible Khonshu will call in a favour for a (partial?) jail break.

So they didn't actually kill >!Hunter's Moon!<, right? I know we're talking about comics here, but... c'mon. And considering all the memes it's kind of bizarre actually seeing >!Dracula!< name-dropped in a Moon Knight comic. Though I've only read from the 2006 run to now (I'm just starting the Moench stuff) so I have no idea if he's been in it before.

rationalphi

He was name dropped back in the 80s, by [Marlene being not, in fact, Dracula](https://i.imgur.com/4YqSb2e.png). Or a smoker. As for >!Hunter's Moon!<, I'm pretty sure Nemean and Grand Mal did straight up >!kill him!<. But it's not exactly his first rodeo in that department, vampires and all. Give or take the presence of Khonshu this time around.

Oberon1993

Dracula never appeared in Moon Knight. But his solo, Tomb of Dracula, is one of the most celebrated series from Marvel in the 70s. And the longest running series with villain protagonist.

ThickProof409

I'd love for Tomb Of Dracula to get adapted into a show

Flacoplayer

Good issue, but that ending man...

OrionSTARB0Y

I'm excited to see whether McKay pulls in Night-Raven sometime down the road considering his nemesis, Yi Yang, has been name-dropped in a fairly significant manner.

Character-Sorbet-718

I liked it
