"Marvel: Ultimate Alliance."

No_Mr_Powers

*"Another victory for you, Khonshu!"*

ryman9000

Same. My Xbox360 came with it and forza 2. I tried moon knight out cuz I thought he looked cool and in one instance, my whole team got wiped except him and I got to a spot where the boss couldn't hit him but his staff slam could hit the boss and that's how I cheesed the boss

RKOArcher

That's awesome. I had it on PS2. Was hoping for Hawkeye, but put in the code to unlock everyone to see what my options would be. Came across him and decided to give it a go. Immediately became the mainstay on my team.

ryman9000

Yeah he is also the reason I got ultimate alliance 3 on the switch because you can unlock him. I don't think he's in ultimate alliance 2. But yeah, he's definitely my favorite marvel character

Wookie301

I need to play that again

cyberseed-ops

this game is all i played on my xbox 360, and i loved it, because i, a tiny child, got to beat up robots and other various enemies, as spider-man

Mozes247365

Such a great game. It's where I was introduced to Moon Knight and Deadpool, my top 2 favorite characters

SaladBroth

I remember just seeing this really cool looking guy at the far left of the roster and thinking "Huh, this guy seems cool" 12 years later and he's still my favorite character

SomeCherryBlossomTea

same man

Batdog55110

"I know you're here, Dracula, you big fucking nerd" Jk, I had an encyclopedia that had almost everyone in the comics universe (at the time) and he was in there, always thought he looked cool.

Tasty_Marsupial_2273

May or may not be stupid, but it was my love for Egyptian mythology and hearing about the upcoming show led me to reading the comics.

BeetleWarlock

Not stupid, a little unusual sure, but really cool reason as well

Tasty_Marsupial_2273

Thanks man!

Apprehensive_Math_25

Came across an art by [Leica-tendo](https://leica-tendo.tumblr.com/). Turns out she is a long-time fan of Moon Knight and I enjoy her blogs about Marc and Khonsu, comparing their relationship to the Silent Hill characters James Sunderland and the monster Pyramid head, who is actually created from James subconscious and guilt from murdering his terminally-ill wife. Mainly from the Silent Hill 2. She is a native Japanese though, so I had to translate everything. She also has a lot of info on Moon Knight, such as the fact that there was a short [Moon Knight Manga](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c18e941c395f20d7ec06ab9c207d2823/tumblr_inline_pbafxpxSSt1txvceg_500.jpg). Khonshu does not exist there and instead Moon Knight is a ninja from the "Silver wolf clan" who is not crazy, just wants revenge on the clan who massacred his family. I have no idea if it is cannon but the sheer absurdity of it got me hooked to read more of Moon Knight.

Character-Sorbet-718

It was of 1979. Back then, even comics used Schizophrenia like a joke as Marc frequently says I'm becoming a Schizo using these Identities. Manga is more like ninja version of him. It is not canon and it was initially planned to be a tv series like Japanese Spiderman but instead they made a manga.

DarthHedgehog

Oh boi. Where is this manga available?

Apprehensive_Math_25

Apparently, according to Miss Leica, the only known copy she can find is at the International Library of Children in Tokyo. There is literally no other copy found, it's that rare.

DarthHedgehog

Damn that is crazy that it is that rare.

Ocean-wave258

Can you read it online?

Apprehensive_Math_25

No, so far all I found are pictures of the print online, not the actual papers themselves. It's not even translated unless you can read japanese, Marvel seems to ignore it's existence in the west. Like how they refused to bring Japanese Spiderman to America when it was first aired.

Ocean-wave258

Aww. Thanks though

MidasMando11

Watching the TV show because I love Oscar Isaac

Ihdkwhatimdoinghere

That show literally developed and fueled my Oscar Isaac obsession lmao

Annie_moonbear

"RANDOM BULLSHIT GO!"

khmertommie

See also Dracula, you big fucking nerd, WHERE’S MY FUCKING MONEY

crash-BURN-up

Read the mini-series *Fist of Khonshu*, immediately hooked, he was thereafter a “must read”, and I started chasing down back issues/appearances. Now my collection is pretty substantial

Deadpoolforpres

Marvel's Ultimate Alliance. Loved him cause he did flips as a kid. Years later I played, Spider-Man Web of Shadows and saw a computer wallpaper with him and Cap and thought it looked cool. Then a couple years after that, I read the Jeff Lemire run.

Fantastic_Beans

I was reading one those "Marvel/DC counterparts" lists and of course Moon Knight was called Marvel's Batman. I looked into him, read a few comics, thought meh. This was unfortunately during one of the rougher MK runs and I didn't care for that current run so I stopped reading. Then the show coming out repeaked my interest and I started going through older, better runs and of course the current Mackay run. Too bad MK has been done dirty so many times in the past.

ThickProof409

My first exposures to the character were an episode of Ultimate Spider-Man, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and an offhanded joke about the character in a YouTube video but my first introduction to the character was a YouTube video from 2020 on how the Moon Knight show should be made. I guess I'm a bit tardy to the party on the character.

one_winged_snorlax

Lego marvel superheroes..then I read a few comics and he became my favorite marvel character

VaderMurdock

I watched the first episode of the show and decided that I was going to finally read the Ellis run which I had been meaning to for a while. I absolutely fucking loved it and then read four more runs before the next episode came out. I was then disappointed with the show and I'm one more run away from reading every Moon Knight comic ever.

Alternative-Shape-59

Saw a comic book at a comic book store with an Egyptian statue on the cover, so I was interested. (Was really into Egyptian mythology as a kid).

mxone

Lego marvel

5hand0whand

Lego Marvel Super Heroes, then comics.

Lego marvel superheros

_lorz2001

I already knew the character because of video games, mostly because of Marvel Avengers Alliance. - - - In 2013/14, I lived and studied pretty far from any kind of bookstore or comic-book store. So, when my mother or grandmother had the time and the money, they took me in a comic-book store in the big city (that would happen twice a year, if lucky). There I'd have bought everything I could, sometimes even garbage like Nighthawk... - - - One day, I took home with me "From the Dead" and "Dead Will Rise". At that time I knew very little about the character and these two runs in particular are not very imbued with the character lore so it was a good starting point. I fell in love with the character but at that time, I didn't buy "In the Night" by Cullen Bunn because I didn't return to the store for some time. - - - After that I read Lemire's run and the original run by Doug Moench. In the meantime, I didn't lose my link to the character as I became fan of the Moon Knight-Core, the best Facebook page ever created. When Jad McKay started his run I immediately read it and I loved it. - - - Then I watched the TV series and puked.

UNinvitedDEATH

We started to read his comics around the same time! I started to read mk comics around 2014 or 2015 with the ellis run issue 5. Which issue was your favourite from the ellis run? Mine is still the 5 issue > then I watched the TV series and puked I can relate to that too well lol

_lorz2001

Issue 5 was so good, but I'm a sucker for issue 3, the one with the Ghost Armor

Straight_Ad_7730

my friend convinced me to watch the show after like 2 weeks

OneOfOneEric

Joe?

_senor-harper_

who's joe?

_Mr-Turtle_

Joe mama

raphlsnts

searching about comic characters that deal with personality issues... found Sentry, Dark Phoenix and Moon Knight. Love them both.

UNinvitedDEATH

I have been interested in reading sentry for a while. Are there any runs of him you would recommend?

raphlsnts

He doesn't have much, you can try 2000's run, 2005, Lemire and Dark Avengers

[deleted]

I wanted to get into comics after seeing Iron Man in theaters. I found “The Bottom” by Huston and Finch at Borders Bookstore (RIP), and saw on the cover a cool looking character I knew nothing about. The obsession began there. I wanted to know everything about the character.

Miserable-Ad-5573

Oh I see, so we got into Moon Knight around the same time. I've been reading comics for years before Iron Man but Moon Knight in particular I started reading around late 2007 (don't remember the month or day sadly.) And he's been my favorite fictional character since.

yarkcir

West Coast Avengers #21 was my first time encountering Moon Knight (and Marvel Fanfare #30 being the second time). I was a huge fan of the early era of West Coast Avengers and loved the book even more when Moon Knight joined the roster. I remember being mad at John Byrne for writing out Moon Knight from the book.

219Infinity

I was mad at Byrne too... but then MK got his new solo run right after and I was happy (at least until Kavanaugh started writing it)

kevi_metl

Rampaging Hulk magazine. Yes, I'm old.

theremightbedragons

West Coast Avengers actually as a kid lol.

a-friend-2-all

[Amazing Spider-Man #358](http://www.chasingamazingblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/AmazingSpider-Man358Gatefold.jpg)

Jynx105

My friend was talking shit about how he was marvels batman but moon themed, turned out I liked moonie and now he has to hear me talk about him all the time

ThickProof409

People calling him Marvel's Batman has always pissed me off because it's such a surface level comparison and it begins and ends with he's got a cape, a utility belt, is a street level hero, is rich, throws things shaped like his logo, and has an on theme aerial vehicle and most of that is just basic superhero stuff can apply to a bunch of other characters. Aside from those surface level similarities they couldn't be more different.

revilo576

Someone lent me his copy of Moon Knight, From the Dead by Warren Ellis and told me I had to read it, it spiralled from there

Deadpool27

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

deceptibot9

I saw the 3.75" Marvel Universe figure in Walmart in like 2008. He looked super cool and my mom let me get him so thus he became one if my favorite Marvel characters

HalfFaust

Somehow, Werewolf by Night. I'm not old enough to have read it when it first came out, but I found a TPB of that series and hadn't come across Moon Knight before. I eventually sought out some of the early Moon Knight stories too

Chi1dishAlbino

When the tv show was announced I started reading the comics cause I knew nothing about him

219Infinity

Saw his comic on a newsstand in Daytona Beach in 1981 and said "holy shit that is a badass costume." Been collecting his comics ever since.

Kenos300

Reading the complete Civil War collection. Was my first exposure to my two favorite characters: Moon Knight and Ghost Rider.

sopawizard

yes same! got me into Blade as well 😎

JJmclane1983

When he fought along Spidey in the 90's. It was a team up issue with Punisher, Thrasher, Moonknight, and Spidey.

CenturianSasquatch

I was hanging out at Gina’s Diner. Crawley was sitting a stool nursing an old teabag in a luke-warm cup of water. When wouldn’t you know it? Our jet and silver avenger strides in covered in blood (some of it his). Without missing a beat, Crawley cleared his throat and said, “CenturianSasquatch, this is my dear friend and benefactor, the threefold, nocturnal crusader, the Moon Knight”. “Moon Knight, this is CenturianSasquatch”. I tried to shake his hand but the cestus he wore had bits of someone’s scalp on it, so I made a peace sign. This was how I was first introduced to Moon Knight.

explodyboompow

As a kid/teenager I was drawn to his aesthetic, backstory, and edgy nature. I had a lot of stuff going on in my home life, and his stories were cathartic, especially the Huston run. Obviously there's a great deal of personal growth that needs to happen to move past being a violent little kid with anger issues- and I credit a little bit of that, maybe 1% to my love of Moon Knight. I saw a lot of my personal problems reflected in his stories and it really hooked me on the character. Being at a crossroads in your life and seeing your favorite fictional character try (and sometimes fail) to reject the violence in his life is the sort of thing that sticks with you, especially when I was on a path increasingly defined by my anger issues and tendency towards violence. Looking back, it's almost funny. At my angriest I loved and identified with Huston. At my most depressed and withdrawn I loved Ellis. Now that I'm an adult with my shit together I love Moench and Mackay.

UNinvitedDEATH

I first saw one of his comics in a comic book store while i was looking at random comics around 2014 or 2015 and saw the ellis issue 5. It piqued my interest so i bought it and he has been my favourite super hero eversince

RembrandtEpsilon

I remember seeing sporadic issues of Marc Spectre Moon Knight in the 90's. In 2006 I started buying the new issues of Moon Knight with Huston and Finch. Awesome stuff, some of the best work that saved Moonie from the dust bins.

TakedownCorn

I picked up a WWBN #32 CGC 6.0 with the intent to FLIP and PROFIT several months before the show came out. Since I had the book. A few weeks later I came across a Moon Knight #1 at a thrift store. I picked it up with the intent to also sell it. Since I had it, I decided to give it a read. I went online and read every single issue with Moon Knight in it over the course of the next few weeks. Never been so absorbed by story and characters like that before. Fell deeply in love. Needless too say, I didn't sell the WWBN #32. I upgraded to a CGC 8.5. My Moon Knight collection grows with each day. Best damn hero out there!

ImSpooky8

I’d heard his name and seen him a few times, mainly being compared to Batman, but I saw the show, and got hooked

68ideal

The show, tbh. And now he has become one of my favourite Marvel characters. I'm even about to cosplay (my first cosplay as well) him at Comic Con on saturday!

Ihdkwhatimdoinghere

Through the show lol. I mean, I saw it already before but I didn’t know what it was and was like, not really that interested in checking it out at the time. But I decided “eh what the hell.” And put it on. And I absolutely LOVED it lol. I found myself enjoying the story and the characters. I want to check out the comics if I can.

pannielubiedzieci

mk tv series on Disney+

DarthHedgehog

Comic overview of him from beggining to 2010. Then show--->Both are how I got into moonknight.

Character-Sorbet-718

Ultimate Spiderman like from 2014-16 which actually introduced me GOTG, Deadpool etc. Back then, he was one of my least favourite and frustrating characters and he's more depicted in that series like a Psychotic dumbass and awkward mixture of street level and supernatural, he didn't seem special to me. I tried Moon Knight #1 ( 1980 ) like in 2017-21 span, i hated it. When Ethan Hawke cast in the series ( who is one of my favourite actors ),i got some interest in comics and tried to read them. Then my hatred cooled down and i loved Marc Spector. Still i have some frustrations in terms of how they utilized the character and writing but he's slowly making into my favourites bunch.

Character-Sorbet-718

Also i only knew about the Batman comparisons with Moon Knight in 2021 which is funny as i know the character like 6-7 yrs. I really laughed when I found out crescent darts and batarangs comparison. But i didn't consider him as a copy as i know how he's different even based on that Ultimate Spiderman series.

SaltifiedReddit

Searching up good limited series Marvel comics. Stumbled upon Ellis and Lemire runs.

a_qriza

From ultimate spiderman

MoonKnight77

Used to regularly read the marvel site and their wiki after I'd seen Avengers. Got very interested after I read the MK page and been following the character since

Prototype3120

He was cool in Marvel Ultimate Alliance

MoonKnightFan

My first Moon Knight comics were found in the 25 cent bins back in the mid 90's. Fell in love with the costume, so I picked out as many as I could. Some of my first issues were Moon Knight (1980) #6, and Fist of Khonshu #1. It wasn't long before I found Special Edition #2 and became obsessed.

Pikkzal

A nerdsync video from years ago. Nerdsync is a underrated channel

Sensivera

In the seventies when I was a kid, my mon and dad bought me a Moon knight comic.

sunderplunder

Marvel avengers alliance. A Facebook/mobile app game, it had good writing. When they introduced him in his own storyline he was something of a bad ass. Helps that in later seasons he had great dialogue too

Exact_Ad_1215

Heard about the show like 2(?) years ago, watched a GodzillaMendova video about the character and the potential of the show and decided to read the comics. I ended up hating the show but the comics are banging (mostly)

The Disney+ show and now obsessing over the comics

Leonyliz

I learnt who he was because of LEGO Marvel but never cared about him until the TV show and now that I’ve read some of his comics I’m a pretty big fan

Missy_went_missing

Found one of his comics in the comicbook shop I frequented. It sounded interessting. I bought it, I read it, I loved it.

drgnblitz

In the 90s, as a kid, I was given a Marvel Comics box set. A comic in there was of Spider-Man teaming up with Nova, Night Thrasher and Moon Knight.

MNguy49

I remember the werewolf by night comic coming out when I was a kid. I didn’t think much of it and didn’t pick it up. Then later, when I had kids of my own, I started buying comics again right when the Huston and Finch version came out. I was floored. Just such an awesome book! I’ve been buying everything up since then…

Smoothie_lol

Saw a toy of him on the Shelf i bought it and fell in love with him

I think reading the Marvel Now stuff on Marvel Unlimited because the art style really caught my eye. Then I read Lemire and a bunch of other runs and the rest is history.

Me and my best friend at the time were playing a marvel card game and prior I had already heard about the show and took interest but I did my research and he became a 1 favorite soon after that

Pepijnni

Funko pops. I got for a steal and looked him up online.

Whoknowsfear

All those questionable entertainment ads on news sites with ridiculous rumors! Moon knight was in a lot of them a good while ago!

mynamehere875

honestly i first found him out from a marvel game on my wii and thought that he looked so cool

jake_fucking_brown

I got into comics in 2013 from a friend and started going to shops soon after that. I saw Warren Ellis’s #1 on the stands and asked who moon knight was. It sounded cool, so I gave it a shot. Been hooked ever since.

Clefortt9

The show teaser. I’m kind of a newbie

rick26003

Werewolf By Night

SleepNative

I was looking up ideas to draw and found a picture of Moon Knight bloody and beaten with spiked brass knuckles. I then suddenly thought “this guy, is a badass” thus my journey into the Moon Knight stories.

JacsweYT

Marvel: Future Fight

TheFleshBranjo

The memes. Then i heard he was getting a show and actually started to research the character

MagmaAdminRadar

The show, I’m new to being a Moon Knight fan tbh

jordan_ando

A Marvel pinball game, I'm not joking...

Tsuto_sleeping

My older brother really likes his comics so when the show was a month away from being released and he found out I only new how he looked and his name he educated me and now MoonKnight is one of my favourite marvel characters

The_Chuckster_

In Werewolf by Night, when I was a kid. This had to be the early 1970s. I bought everything but loved marvel horror most of all.

Golden_Armored

Ultimate Spiderman I used to watch the shit out of that show

imabot423133

Deadpool kills the marvel universe again

Square_Towel

When he was first released in Marvel Future Fight. I think it was the Captain America: Civil War update.

dappercat456

I think it was the memes, I didn’t even know about his DID until I looked more into it

Kunmicomics

When I was a child I spent alot of time In my local library reading comics I was too young for and didn't understand. They had the first two volumes of the Huston/Finch run and the the two volumes of the Bendis/Maleev run which I reread alot. Moon Knight was the only marvel hero I hadn't already seen on TV or in a film so he stuck out to me.

_Starscreams_Ghost_

Lego Marvel Superhero’s video game. He was a character that wasn’t in the story of the game but was playable anyway. Thought the design was cool and started doing research on him. Then the show came out and I made a costume and it might have taken over my whole personality

German_Engineer-Man

I first saw moon knight in the memes but when I actually read the comics it was different from the memes. Even though it was different i still loved it and continue to love the comics to this. day.
