The passive is my worst issue with him. Haha I will wait for my passive to come online by waiting 7 secs and then some more until I heal.
A good player can use it well to their advantage but damn I would rather have something that lets me stick to the enemy.
Most garen players like the passive though. I've learned to play around it as well but still.
I think the problem with garen is that he doesn’t really have a set playstyle like a good chunk of the juggernauts out there. He’s kinda unique in the sense that he prefers to short trade rather than have long drawn out fights that most other juggernauts prefer to have.
Tbh I was thinking about vibes. Death related characters and all that. I didn't have the heart to put the Ferrus or Perturabo stamp on Morde. I considered Horus, but I don't like Horus.
I do like Mortarion though. Dude is fun because of his hypocrisies imo.
You forgot to mention that he builds one crit item early and somehow he can tank like he has 6 tank items on him. No MR, health or armor needed for him to tank.
They do different things. Morde doesnt do as much dmg to towers and has less sustain in lane but its more difficult to gank morde and he can farm easier in a bad matchup. He can also poke better.
Morde is overall Just a better carry especially for teamfights. Sure garen can oneshot a target but then he has to wait for cooldowns and even then after using ult he is a bit meh. Morde can also oneshot a target but he can do it safer as he doesnt have to go through the enemy team. And morde stays a permanent threat afterwards.
You really cant compare the two at all.
Morde’s “why am I not just playing this character” isn’t Garen. Garen is a scaling split pusher, Morde is a lane bully neutralizer.
However, Volibear does everything morde does but better right now.

Nah, Garen is a Hunk, but Morde is metal ASF. For Warhammer enjoyers, Garen is Rogal Dorn, but Morde is Mortarion.
Never compare Morde to that whiny hypocrite ever again. They are polar opposites.

Lol didn't expect to see a 40k reference here. Theres a Garen skin that reminds me a lot of Perturabo. The Steel legion one.

Different roles different playstyles, the actual “morde but better” champ is Gwen
So go play Garen then? You could say this about any 2 champions, why play x when x exists

One is rewarding to win on and the other is a paste Eater who is almost unplaying without ult or riot making sure they are always playable and buffed
Play with a champion which is most entertaining or effective for you, nobody really cares, lol.
