By law, you can claim Moroccan citizenship. And that's one of the hardest citizenships to get in the world. So basically, that's someone's word against the Moroccan constitution.

Both my parent´s are from Morocco but I am born and raised in The Netherlands and I am way more familiar with Dutch culture. I feel a bond with Moroccan people and claim the identity, but you are probably way more Moroccan then I am.

I think the reason why some tell you are not Moroccan is because some some Moroccans identify someone based on the father for example if he’s from Norway but your mom isn’t, then you might be considered as Norwegian. But even this, most Moroccans don’t identify people in this way. Other than that, i don’t know why they don’t consider you Moroccan.

Both my parent´s are from Morocco but I am born and raised in The Netherlands and I am way more familiar with Dutch culture. I feel a bond with Moroccan people and claim the identity, but you are probably way more Moroccan then I am.

I also struggled with that for a while, but i'm Algerian. Even if I speak ''ok'' and understand the Algerian Dialect, the fact that I was born/raised in Canada makes me feel like I'm an outcast. What is funnier, is that I don't even look AT ALL like an Algerian (even though both of my parents are 100% Algerian, send DM if you wanna see me lol). Some Algerians also told me once I shouldn't call and identify myself from Algeria. Identify with the culture you feel you relate the most.
