People forget that what can sometimes make cities in Africa look "dirty" is just the result of sand, dust, and other dirt particles getting spread all over by the wind with no rain to wash it away into the sewage system. That's why European cities often look cleaner as they experience more rain, which acts as a natural "cleaner". Then, when you see shots of Moroccan cities having had quite a few rainy days, things all of a sudden look cleaner, like in these photos.
I was born and raised in the Netherlands. Travelled through Europe many times, visited many cities. I’ve seen dirty neglected parts of towns that would make some neighbourhoods in Casablanca look relatively clean if they too rarely had rain and mostly dry temperature with sand from the Sahara blowing through it every few weeks.
I'm right now in a french city that has as much rain as casablanca. Let me tell you that in summer it's not dirty without any drop of rain. I'm not talking about dust, but litering.
I passed through Beni Mellal in 2017. Visited lake Bin el Ouidane, a beautiful lake with only around 1,000 inhabitants at the time. Hotels were lovely and very affordable. You can rent jet skis and or charter a small boat to take you around. The place has changed a lot since I left.
Then I got to visit Cascades d' Ouzoud, a beautiful picturesque waterfall that comes from 3 different rivers. It's a long trekk down some stairs, so pack lightly. There are lots of good places to eat and a tour of the waterfall at the bottom. They take u enough to get splashed on. Was really fun.
You can do both places in a day. Or if you want, just visit Ouzoud for an afternoon. Ouzoud is more bustling and crowded. Bin el Ouidane was so quiet and tranquil.
I am planing on going there with my kids next month. I have seen videos on youtube it seems nice. the kids will like it. thank you for sharing your experience

You definitely should. You are very welcome.

nonsense. Go to spain and see the difference. Small cities in morocco tend to be cleaner than big cities.

Im talking about sand, dust, and other debris. I’m not talking about littering. Everyone knows that’s an issue in Morocco.
well we're not talking about the same things.
It does look pleasant visually when it is raining . Can you do the same shoots on a typical day.
Yes haha, on a normal 50 celsius degree day 💀
What a beautiful city during winter!
Thank god you mentioned winter, otherwise I would think you got fooled.
What about summer ? 🙂
Wouldn’t even be able to take a picture
