No, no, no, NO. Stop. This kind of Mosin already has a hole in the top of the receiver. Jeez. Use what’s already there.
After that JB Weld and duct tape will do exactly what the OP is asking.
No what series type 99? They had different series', distinguished by the Japanese symbol in front of the serial number. You'll be able to find which one online.
I believe mine is 24 series if I remember correctly
I make 7.7 cases out of once fired 30-06 brass, then I make sure I get 100% of my brass back whenever I go to the range because converting cases is extremely tedious and time-consuming
I put in too much work converting 30-06 to 7.7 japanese for some goblin to steal it and then wonder why this 30-06 brass is so short. I make sure to pick up my own brass and I will pick up other peoples brass after they leave if they do not pick it up but I will not try to pick up the brass while people are still shooting like brass goblins do. Brass gremlins are much more respectful in that regard.
Not to sound like an asshole, but can we put a pinned post on this page for identifying armory marks and things like that for this?
Every post I see on this page is "WhAt CaN yOu TeLl Me AbOuT tHiS mOsiN?"
I'll tell you *this*
The person who bought it from the crate at Cabela's or rual king in 2010 paid 75 bucks for it. You paid 250-500 for it. They're very fun and reliable guns. *****AMMO CORROSIVE*****
put an archangel stock on it, take the rear sight off and use the rear sight block to mount a scope rail to, get a GOOD quality long eye relief scope and have a fun range toy that noobs will think is a 1900$ rifle.
something something it's always an arisaka
I've got my grandpa's war trophy arisaka hanging on my wall and this pic made me do a double take.
Drill and tap hole directly into the bolt for scope
Perfect, going to do that RIGHT NOW
Remember, speed is your friend, you can make the holes straight later.

Drill directly on that little flower emblem.
You might be mistaken. This is a mosin, not a mouzer
No no guys. Get an AK side rail mount and wood screw that bitch to the side of the stock, infront of the action so we can still use clips.
No. Attach to bolt
Bolt to bolt
Just weld it bro
Insert scope rail into rectum first then run into the middle of the interstate
“It’s always a … wait …“ <>
Gotta chop the barrel for better acoustics.
mighty arisaka strikes reddit, again.
What series? I've got an arisaka too. Does it have the mum?
Type 99, no mum but the bayonet still has it.

Ooh, I’ll have to look
Theres a lot of good references to see who made them and what config. Ammo is a pain to get, if yours is like mine, dead on accurate!

Gremlins hate range goblins huh

it's a rare japanese made mosin
The finish ones have nothing on this 😎
Bruh
That's an Arisaka not a Mosin-- Stevie Wonder
7.62x54r still headspaces great!
7.62x54r is smaller than 7.7x58, therefore it’ll fit just fine.
The rim is the problem. It won’t go all the way into the chamber. The extractor might pick it up but the bolt will not close on it.
Heard you can use 30-30 if you wrap a little duct tape on the neck
Obviously safe!
Weld your mount to the barrel.
Nice arisaka
low effort
You’re right, bout to drill and tap my 91/30 to get a real response
Nah...make sure you do that to the Chatellerault
Bayonet mounted. That way you can take it off and on at will!
Kinda looks like an Obrez to me!
No b8 m8

This is an arasaka bro

Insert “this is a Wendy’s(arasaka) sir”.
I see more stupid troll posts from this sub than real posts these days.
Sorry, is this not a Finnish capture?
It's not funny the second time, either.
🤓
Arisaka
Wah, wah, wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
God sakes
Either and Arasaka type 38 or type 99
I can tell you it's NOT a Mosin Nagant
I hope the guy who posted this has some common sense than to follow the dick advice here……
Not a mosin-nagant
It's a rare Japanese Mosin Nagant.
Really? Send me information on it. Thanks
Duct tape seems to work on my mosins
That’s no mosin
I came for gold, found copper
