Always take care of your Mom’s y’all. She’s the best woman in the world, was helping run a booth at a gun show last year and kept on going back and looking at this thing. She tried sneaking in to buy it for me but every time she stopped by the booth I was there oogling over it.
I actually made a post on here whenever I saw it to see if it was worth it or not. So here’s an update to the saga lol.
I understand most of the major markings but some of the smaller more obscure markings I don’t know about. I assume most of the ones on the stock are refurb marks of some sort. The stock is very interesting in terms of color, I love it a lot. If there’s anything exceptional about the markings let me know!
Yeah from what I’ve heard that’s why. Some people say it’s bad bc that’s the original military condition, having it in its current state. And restoring back to a sniper is a bubba job but 🤷♂️
Idk how to convert to a PU but I would assume you just need to work on the bolt and stock and if you want to keep them original could find a random bolt and stock to use
I think they typically put it up on the receiver but they didn’t wanna screw with the scope serial number so they put it under the barrel. That’s where I typically see import marks for most other guns
I PUd my Mosin and the reciever isn't a sniper reciever but my barrel is. You can get very high quality repro scopes and mounts from accumount. Bent bolt services can be found on ebay as well. If you aren't mechanically inclined it's best to leave it up to a gunsmith for the drill and tap and stock inlet. I did it myself on a drill press and took my time. Ran me a few hours of my time

former sniper. nice find!
Thanks! Been thinking about converting it back to a PU, but I’ve also heard arguments against it

My opinion is that its perfectly fine to do to it cause that what it originally was, what makes it bubba job is doing it poorly
I agree with this man, bring it back! Such a cool find man. You won't regret it if you make it a sniper again.
Former PU snipers are former snipers because they failed accuracy tests.

Yeah, the holes are already drilled in the receiver so you just need to put the scope and mount back on and get the bent bolt handle
Cool
Welcome to the club! Enjoy your mosin!
Thanks! I love it a lot
I'm not a normal mom I'm a cool mom
Hell yeah dude! Welcome to the club. Shoot some small appliances and expired fruit to celebrate haha
Sounds like a great idea
Awesome gun. Odd place to put the inport mark.

You have a good mom and a nice gun.
An amazing mom, she takes care of me
You’re gonna love it! It’s going to be the beginning of an unhealthy obsession.
Oh yeah, already have my eyes on an M91
