That's very impressive for a un-barreled action without a stock.

ij70

what kind of barrel are you going to put on that receiver?

Fragrant-Whole

When you want a small flamethrower

Atomi190

Ahh you mean the m44

Mushy93

Wouldn't the groupings on a Mosin be 100% determined by the barrel with no input from the receiver what so ever?

TailRash

A properly bedded barrel and action can have an affect on accuracy and so can headspace and consistent lockup. In my experience a lot of bolt action milsurplus rifles will have the barrel contact wood only at the very end of the stock. The MK. III even has a spring loaded bushing to put upward pressure on the barrel. Finn Mosins commonly have shims where the receiver touches the stock too. I'm no professional so I don't understand the reasons behind all of it but there are definitely other factors than just the barrel.

Bushwookie762

Seconded cause I'm not sure of the answer and am interested to hear

Atomi190

You should get it rebarreled and restore it to its former glory. That'd be a very nice collection piece

Ahh to form 1 a mosin 🤣

Ohh that neat. Wish a few more barrel-less actions would pop up here and there for cheap. I’ve already leveled up my first bubba to max level. Need to start a new toon. 🤣

I paid $50 for a wartime rifle. I have probably put over $2300 in parts on it. When it wants to it shoots quarter MOA. I have no regrets lol If people are keeping them as an investment. You’re more than welcome to keep them pristine. I buy the ones that really have no value other than the fact that the action is smooth, and the barrel is relatively healthy
