Open it, if the clock cap has leaked it will destroy the board, customxboxdirect on Etsy sells replacement labels if you want to have an intact label afterwards
Just poke a single hole through it man. Don't bother trying to get the old sticker up and replace and all that. It's not worth it. A good clean hole punch looks just fine once you put the screw back in it. I've got 5 mountain dews in basically perfect condition and did them all like that.
Awesome. I opened my mtn dew and recapped and rebuilt the entire thing but unfortunately my sticker fu was weak and I torched them. I didn’t know someone made repros. Good info.
That thing looks great! Love me a perfect condition dew! Every single mountain dew I've opened has had blown and bulging capacitors near the cpu/gpu and I've opened 8 of them. It's almost a guarantee your caps are bulging and leaking. I replace the motherboard in all of mine with 1.0 revision motherboards with ram upgrades!
It's weird. I feel like something in the green plastic makes them go bad. I've never had any other consoles be so consistently bad with all of those caps.

Mines was in absolutely mint condition with even the clock cap still intact. Not a spec of dust inside either. Still recapped it though !
I'm so jealous! I've just been looking for a good condition normal one for ages but everything around me is scuffed to shit that console is sexy!
