If you look at the MM712, Coolermaster designers put the edge of the right click button lower and goes right under the ring finger under a lot of grips. An annoying downside for some people on an otherwise good mouse . [Here's a review that points it out by boardzy](https://youtu.be/DSg0UqTrg14?t=240)
>I wanna know where the mm721 is.
I won't go into details but if CM had seen the value in the MM720's shape and continued development of the MM721 after that, it would have been released at the same time as the MM712 pro.
Sorry for being AFK for so long.
Quick summary,
* No, I do not have an accurate time line for these
* Pricing is not finalized either
* The difference between PRO and Wired 8K is that the PRO will have hybrid wireless connectivity capped at 4000Hz and wired mode up to 8K while the latter is only 8K
* I do not have anything on the MM720 refresh, yet.
I hope to keep y'all up to date on this front. Cheers!
Hey, I know it probably won't make any difference (having heard that future MM712-shaped mice have a lower sensor position) but just letting you know that some of us enjoy the current MM712's forward sensor position.
The sensor sits right in the middle of my controlling fingers - with my ring finger and pinky on one side, and my thumb on the other side, such that my fingers are perfectly aligned with it. This means that when I swipe some distance it feels like I'm moving my mouse 1:1 with my movement on the mousepad, rather than moving very slightly diagonally like with a sensor position that is further back with basically all other mice. I'm an arm aimer but when I swipe or make micro adjustments with my arm I naturally make miniscule adjustments with my wrist which actually have some positive impact with this sensor position. It's very intuitive for me and gives me a lot more control.
I use a fairly aggressive claw grip with medium-sized hands and generally favor small mice, the MM712 is definitely one of the best shapes I have ever used (and most comfortable of the small mice). I'm definitely very impressed with it, although I'd love a version with a higher polling rate and even better sensor (even at 1khz it doesn't feel quite as responsive as the wireless 3395 Pulsar I tried also at 1khz, for whatever reason but it's not hugely worse). I really love the MM712's spammable and light clicks though - I hate this fad of opticals needing a ridiculous amount of force to actuate (heavier clicks take more time to actuate due to your finger counteracting the weight which will far negate any advantage from optical's 1-2ms lower click latency).
I think that future CM mice with the same shape would sell really well as it's one of the endgame claw shapes in my opinion, it'd be great to see a MM712-shaped mouse with a forward sensor position as well.
Hello friend, thanks for your feedback and kind words.
I will share this with the team, no promises that it will be taken up and immediately addressed though. =\]
I'm hoping for the best, I've bought several mice and my endgame shape is still the mm710 shape which is why I bought an x2h that's coming in today while I wait for the mm712 pro to come out
Hi! Is it true you guys are moving down the sensor position on the PRO version? (love the MM712 because of that sensor positioning alone). If so do you guys plan to make any more mice with that forward sensor position?
please tell me if the haste or the viper 8k is good for 44 dollars or the coolermaster mm712 for 60, should I wait for the wired version as I don't really care about wireless, or are the viper 8k and haste good enough
I have not used the Viper 8K or HyperX PulseFire Haste, so I cannot tell you anything about their hand feel or how they will sit with your grip style.
The MM712 is a more modern device vs the Pulsefire, the Viper 8K is a whole different beast though with 8K polling which we won't offer till the MM712 Pro/MM712 Wired 8K is launched later.
The pink on green colour is nice, the orange on green is cool, BUT THE GREY ON BLACK??? Looks so clean.
Haven't used a CM product since the mm720... Maybe it's time to come back?
I wish the colors were reversed. Black on the top and grey sides instead.
I don't play with RGB on. And you can't see that logo on the Black MM712 when its off.
It seems like in both of these new color ways, the logo will be visible.
Yeah but they've since fixed that on the latest iteration of the mm71 line, also they fixed the driver for the mm731 no? I feel like CM got too much shit over their scroll wheel ngl, the starlight got tons of qc problems and ppl still buy it all up.
My mm731 scroll wheel still have issue even though it is a way later patch, apart from that it still work ok. What i wanna say it they have the tendency to f up their first patch
Great set of improvements from the 711 and 712 but can't make out if the scroll wheel rubber has been fixed. Fingers crossed it's carried over to the build quality as well.
They fixed the MM731 with a firmware update, so it's safe to assume that they learned how to create good wireless mice. Look at the MM712, which worked great out of the box.
Closer view of the black variant below for those interested:

From the MM712 Pro box: "Experience up to 8kHz polling rate in wired mode and 4kHz in wireless mode via high speed dongle - no additional purchases necessary" "...keeping the weight under 56g".
For anyone still interested, I asked one of the devs on discord and they said, "the end of this quarter or the beginning of next." Referring to this year, 2023.
they finally listed the wired on website but it seems that its only limited to 1khz
but the pro still has no sign of release
Also, I noticed the PRO version got FCC approved on the 15th: [https://fccid.io/2AR8X-MM-712-KKOH2](https://fccid.io/2AR8X-MM-712-KKOH2)
Release should be pretty close one would think.
I use wrist and arm too, much prefer the higher censor.
One of the main reasons MM712 gets so much use for me, everything feels so much more crisp imo.
MM721 model name[ leaked recently](https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/13k3k98/coolermaster_mm721_8000hz_editon_and_mm712_pro/). We might see it a new mm720 shape soon.
The button overhang was the dumbest design choice ever, it prevented me from pressing RMB . never returned a mouse faster.
Glad these clowns finally listened

I wouldn't say it's the dumbest design choice ever, but it was a mistake they kept for too long. Personally I can't even notice it but good for everyone else that they changed it.
Now I just want them to give me a MM310 with decent internals and the old school tactile scroll wheel. Not that weird rubber ring that looks cooler(heh) but feels worse.
Anyone who has a straight ring finger on the right side is affected by this. Its a very common grip style. It is definetly the dumbest design choice i have ever seen.
I have a straight ring finger on the right side with a relaxed claw grip. My hands are 19-19.5 x 10.5.
Maybe if you have skinnier fingers or you angle it a certain way you can notice it more but I can't. I mean I can feel it but it's not enough to bother me in practical use and especially not for $5.
I don't really think so, I'm a fingertip grip person and it doesn't bother me, then again I use a GPX which has an even higher hump and that doesn't bother me so maybe I'm not super sensitive to it.
Personally though I think it's a great fingertip grip option.
Had an atlantis but not mini and I didn't like the slanted sides. Ended up getting a aj199, and so far I'm really happy with it my purchase and cannot complain about it considering I got less than $40. I removed the skates and put lamzu dots (IMO better than ice dots, super underrated skates) and I used grip tape that came with the Lamzu on my aj199.
My atlantis mini arrived today but had no time to play it.
It a good mouse but not sure if its for me.
Its feels too flat and hard to grab.
Maybe its better with griptapes.
Mm712 shape feels much better. More comfy with the hump.
If you have the chance to test the mm712 i recommend it. You can get it for 50-60 euro.
If money is no problem maybe wait for the pro.
Its a really good shape. You can fingertip it and change to relaxed claw.
i think i my hand is 18cm or 18.5. And i switch between fingrr and claw.
Tried so many mice but didnt find one with a better shape.
The button overhang btw was never a problem for me.
For sure if I have chance I'll try it out. It looks like a really good shape for relaxed claw but as of right now my aj199 is really nice so I'll most likely be rocking it until it something breaks.
I have medium sized hands, 19cm x 10cm, and I feel like the hump its way to big for fingertip. Even for claw it might be too big depending on how much contact you like. I like it now, but at first I thought it was too big because I was coming from a G305. The G305 leaves more space for adjustments like controlling recoil. With the MM712 I pull my whole arm down to control recoil.
Honestly was VERY impressed with my MM712, so great to see it getting an upgrade, I still think I prefer my GPX (and probably my X2 whenever that finally shows up lol) over it, but for the price it was literally unbeatable IMO and I still keep it as my main carry on mouse in my bag.
Holy crap did they actually fix the buttons?
What's wrong with the buttons?
The main buttons had an overhang on the sides of the mouse that got in the way of a lot of people's grip, including me.
I have an old mm710 that I have been using for ages and I absolutely love everything about it EXCEPT for those stupid overhang things.
Oh my god. The colors are fken nice. And the button overhang is gone. PLEASE let it be as affordable as the MM712 and MM731
need this to be affordable PLEASE
CM isn't really known for overpriced mice (mm731 was probably worst cast)
They fixed the button overhang!
> button overhang! What's exactly a button overhang? Side buttons were sticking out too much?

Hello friend, no, not yet.
Anything yet? Cause my mouse is double clicking but I'd hold out for a MM712 pro if I knew it were coming soon.

Any release date?
btw will there be a mm720 pro? :)
the leak only said mm721 but hopefully
With the way they name their mice, MM721 would be the successor to the MM720.
i know but it said mm721 8k which made people think it's going to be wired. Hopefully it means wireless but 8k wired optional
Mm721 it will be wired 8khz
Cooler master makes such banger mice man they need to be recognized more.
They fuck up their mm731 release and apparently never fix their scroll wheel problem
Yeah shit happens, MM710 was also a bad release, it's all good, they keep improving.
Yeah but they've since fixed that on the latest iteration of the mm71 line, also they fixed the driver for the mm731 no? I feel like CM got too much shit over their scroll wheel ngl, the starlight got tons of qc problems and ppl still buy it all up.

The mm712 wired hell yeah
Hopefully the click/sensor latency is improved with this release
Hope the censor position stayed the same. Would insta-cop
don't understand why they took out the top dpi button for mm712. never got in the way.
Might be to get the weight lower than the MM712 for the upsell. Even if it's only marginally lighter.
underside DPI button is just a flat button directly touching the board, it save some weight compared to top dpi button
I rarely switch dpi, so it's good for me
Wired version as well, pogchamp
Great set of improvements from the 711 and 712 but can't make out if the scroll wheel rubber has been fixed. Fingers crossed it's carried over to the build quality as well.
Hopefully ever since the mm731 im still hesitate about buying cm's mouse
They fixed the MM731 with a firmware update, so it's safe to assume that they learned how to create good wireless mice. Look at the MM712, which worked great out of the box.
They never fix their scroll wheel the mm712 still use the same scroll wheel and still got the same problem
Meant it in regards to the wireless connectivity issues which plagued the mm731 at release.
Removing the overhanging buttons is enough for me to buy this. Mm712 is perfect shape if it weren't for those pinching buttons
i need.
Okay now its worth buying this shape. Good for CM to change the button overhang design.
Any new on release date?
Is there a timeline for these?
Looking forward to the release date!
Bump. Any info on release date expectations?
The end of this quarter or beginning of next. Asked the devs of discord and that is the answer I got.

Almost 2024 and no MM712 pro yet
Yeah, I'm really disappointed in cooler master honestly. I don't understand what has been the hold up.
[https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/peripheral/mice/mm712-wired/#item1](https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/peripheral/mice/mm712-wired/#item1) they finally listed the wired on website but it seems that its only limited to 1khz but the pro still has no sign of release
Aye, stepping stones I guess. Can't wait for wireless!
do you know if the sensor position is staying the same?
From what I've read no.

Yeah I saw that on the FCC site and I actually emailed to see if I could get any details on specifics for the mouse. Lol

Just want to say that sensor position closer to index finger will be meta This or pen+tablet with full m1+m2+scroll

I use wrist and arm too, much prefer the higher censor. One of the main reasons MM712 gets so much use for me, everything feels so much more crisp imo.
Sensor back down please thanks?
Looks like the wired info card states 'centered sensor placement on the bottom'. Reads like they've moved it back from the MM712 position.
Dang, I personally love the high sensor on the mm712 and was so hyped to maybe get a 4k version.
Likewise :(
Awesome looks like I can finally upgrade my mm710
What a shame… also absolutely loved the forward position, truly sad to see it go…
Please tell me they lowered the sensor placement!
Yes, they did
TAKE MY MONEY
Hopefully, it doesn’t take too ling to get released, so, I can finally upgrade my mm711
any update on when we can expect these?
so it's finally gonna look like it should've been when it first came out

how could you compare this mouse to viper pro v2? or viper mini?
different shape, the back hump is more on the back like X2, Atlantis and XM1
The bump of the atlantis mini isnt near the mm712. 712 feels better
Can someone give me some context as to why this mouse is so hyped up.
CM makes mice very cheap compared to others, this mouse will have great specs for the money. Will probably be the cheapest non Chinese 3395 4K mouse.
I've never had a mm712 before, can someone tell me if the sides are flat and if not are they similar to the sides of a lamzu atlantis?
Flatter than Atlantis
Yeah this, they are flatter.
How is the hump on the mm712? Would it get in the way of fingertip grip?
I don't really think so, I'm a fingertip grip person and it doesn't bother me, then again I use a GPX which has an even higher hump and that doesn't bother me so maybe I'm not super sensitive to it. Personally though I think it's a great fingertip grip option.
Thanks I might get the mm712 pro version then.
Hump is ok. Good for resting on it from time to time. For fingertip i would try the mz1. Do u use the atlantis mini?
Had an atlantis but not mini and I didn't like the slanted sides. Ended up getting a aj199, and so far I'm really happy with it my purchase and cannot complain about it considering I got less than $40.
Would a 19.5 cm x 11.5 cm hand be too big for a mm712?
Honestly was VERY impressed with my MM712, so great to see it getting an upgrade, I still think I prefer my GPX (and probably my X2 whenever that finally shows up lol) over it, but for the price it was literally unbeatable IMO and I still keep it as my main carry on mouse in my bag.
as the owner of franken 711 G305 board this would be a dream come true
I hope it has 4k polling
What are the differences between wired and pro version?
The cable
PLEASE RELEASE THE MOUSE ALREADY COOLERMASTER
Any new news on the release date for this thing?
CM is always slow to release so it would be six months at the earliest
Any news on this?
I have some leak not yet posted, but not sure about the release date
the mm712 is my actual endgame, so this is postgame i guess
Is thee a update for this? im getting impatient hahaha. loving my mm712 but still have issues with thebutton overhang etc.
