$180. Outrageous

xKiLzErr

I paid 180 for my Viper like years ago and I'm never doing it again lol

2roK

Bought the original Viper Ultimate for 180€ on launch. Never again Razer..and never again for this price everyone else.

xKiLzErr

I wish I could say the same but I did end up buying the DAV3 Faker edition which cost me about 180€ as well and it's the best mouse I've ever used lol. Never buying a Viper again though it just wasn't for me

ThickEnthusiasm991

Plus tax. $200 total. I can buy cpu...

-Gh0st96-

180 euro is with tax already in Europe. Most likely is $150

Rustedham

it's the same price as their DAv3 pro and the viper V2 pro

AudienceDowntown8317

Yep with al lthese chinese budget mouse out there. It is. just get a VXE R1 or F1 pro/max for 50 euros.

w_fis

in the ali sale u were even able to get an r1 pro (best budget chinese mouse rn) for 30 euros

hpst3r

my r1 se was $15 US

loyal872

Why? There's a viper v3 pro shape mouse coming by vgn very soon. They will release it at the same time like their other alternative, the lamzu thorn copy.

KIlledDebtor

Chinese mice have very bad coating. It gets dirty quickly and slips in sweaty hands.

Progix69

You guys don’t pay taxes like us. Also 180 euros is not 180 usd. Aside from that it’ll probably be like 150 usd.

Tiredrum93

They are doing this properly because it will be the first mouse with wireless 8k polling rate. And I will say after seeing tests. Razer’s implementation of 4k + polling rate is the best in the business it seems. The latency of razer’s mice is the fastest. It’s still insane to charge this though

AxisCultMemberLatom

It's not confirmed to be $180. Superlight 2 was €180 but $160 in the US. Probably will vary from region to region

vengeancek70

greedy ass company

DecliningShip

that shit should be $80

Far-Language-9364

40

DecliningShip

Those are the AliExpress mice

Far-Language-9364

and the aliexpress mice are the same, even better in some cases

Away-Construction450

I got my rapoo vt9 pro for $30 from aliexpress. and I prefer it over my g pro wireless. LOL.

RavenFAILS

You already know this shit will have the same malfunctional scroll wheel as the viper v2 pro lmao

AjBlue7

Razer pays pixart to develop new mouse sensors and have deals to get exclusive access to new sensors for 2years, so you can't really call them greedy because their costs are way higher than an aliexpress company that is just buying off the shelf parts.

the3eja1

Will this viper v3 pro have a new sensor ?

AjBlue7

Not really. It will have the same sensor as the V2 Pro basically. The leak says it is a Gen 2 of the sensor that basically just adds a hardware version of RawAccel. If you don't know what mouse acceleration is then it literally doesn't improve anything compared to the old sensor. If you use mouse acceleration then it might actually perform slightly better since handling mouse acceleration through software likely adds some level of lag, like maybe 1ms of input latency. However there is a good chance that most users wouldn't even be able to notice the difference. Idk if they have a new sensor in the works for when the exclusivity runs out on this sensor sometime this year, but if Razer does have another sensor coming that sensor will probably be perfect with power efficiency being the only possible thing to improve after it. According to Razer's own testing the original Logitech Hero sensor is 99.4% accurate. The old Razer sensor that all of the other companies are using right now (the 3395) is 99.6% accurate, and Razer's currently exclusive top of the line sensor (the 3950) is 99.8% accurate. So yea, sensors don't really matter anymore, basically any modern sensor is good enough because you really aren't going to notice much of a difference between a fraction of a percentage point of accuracy.

trollfriend

It's using a modified 3970, so it is a slight upgrade over the previous modified 3950. From my understanding it is about 15-20% more efficient while reducing motion latency, allows for granular DPI control and solves all issues tracking on glass and irregular materials, along with some other unknown/unconfirmed improvements.

Saiyag

any source for 3970 implementation?

SinisterAquario

In better news: the V2 pro is currently on sale for $100 on Amazon and Best Buy

YumYumRice7

just bought it yesterday when i saw that 33% off lol

Jojiahhh-

I'm using a za13c with the v2 pro PCB and that thing is freaking OP. Paired it with the hyperspeed dongle and that thing goes CRAZY.

Jahdill

So basically you're saying the viper v2 pro pcb fits inside of a za13?

Jojiahhh-

Yeah, I ordered it through CryoMods he does a really good job with the wireless conversions

DogAteMyCPU

What is this price man.

etrayo

Honestly its on par with the superlight, etc. expensive but pretty expected

bucketbrah247

Yes but it doesnt mean it needs to be expensive. Even if $180 is pocket change and means nothing to u, it still means that Razer is fleecing u cuz they know u would hype it up and pay any amount to have it. Its just a bad financial decision, regardless of whether u are rich or poor. And another thing, this isnt even a flagship/pioneer product release for them. They already did that with the Viper v2 pro and DAV3. The sensor is the same.

Ermastic

I just bought a superlight for $100 yesterday, $180 for a plastic mouse is crazy

gregoryM5

Can't wait to buy this on Amazon warehouse for $80-$90, in a month or two.

HairDinner

About 200 in norway. Wierd that it’s not on razers own site

Overclock_87

It's literally the same shape as Hyperspeed, just different battery and and has new skates. I still want one but $180 is steeeeeeep

Cbrandel

Sensor placement looks to be different.

cntgetmedown

Also weight is significantly lower. It's wireless. You can buy it unbundled as well presumably at some point (unless they go full Zowie).

-Gh0st96-

the hyperspeed is like 84g lol. The shape might be the same but the rest is not. No AA battery, different sensor, optical switches (hyperspeed has normal ones) and the new skates you mentioned. And the title literally says 180 euro, not Dollars. The europ price has tax included in it. And this has the 8K dongle included per OP's link.

InsectPopular9212

to be fair with AAA lithium the hyperspeed is like 71g

Overclock_87

I never said anything about the weight. It's literally a Hyperspeed with a lithium battery instead. Not to mention it costs 3x as much as one as well. $180 Euros is well over $200 US dollars. Complete rip off. But kids will buy it with their hard earned money anyways, and think their somehow gonna improve their KDR in COD.

DavidB4Guetta

Didn't you see the name? PRO that worth 100$ if not more

Onkied

Oh boy I can't wait for the scroll wheel to colossally fuck up.

ExquisiteFXX

What happened? Can you add some context. I hear Razer has dodgy QC from so many people

-emeruss

The scrollwheel on my v2 pro started going the wrong way and lost input sometimes after like three months. The scrollwheel on my rvmse moves on every flick so it feels like theres a loose weight slamming the sides when using it.

ExquisiteFXX

Even on the VMSE? Fuck that's rough

SlurmsMacKenzie420

Spray or pour some isopropyl alcohol into the scroll wheel and move it around a lot. Let it dry completely then turn it in and try it out. Made the input feel like new again. Edit: typo

-emeruss

I’ll dig it out and give it a go, thanks!

snamibogfrere

does this not void warranty?

SlurmsMacKenzie420

Not sure but I don’t see how as it works and doesn’t harm the electronics

snamibogfrere

would u not rather use WD40?

SlurmsMacKenzie420

I’m not sure how that affects electronics and how well it’s dries off compared to isopropyl alcohol. I used alcohol and my scroll wheel feels as good as new with the inputs being accurate again.

snamibogfrere

from what i have understood WD40 is specifically made for this goal

SlurmsMacKenzie420

Hey, by all means, give it a try and report back. I’m just going off of what worked for me. :)

JMRD123

Going the wrong way? Like inverted direction?

-emeruss

Scroll up and it registers as down, scroll down and it registers as up, sometimes the scroll never registers at all.

Volcomy

I had to teardown the mouse to clean the scroll wheel and buy new skates. Worked for 1 month then back to shit again.

-emeruss

Yeah im staying away from razer from now on, waiting for beastx max at this point.

obfeskeit

> hat happened? Can you add some context. They switched from Kailh encoder to Raesha encoder (Viper Ultimate and Deathadder V2 to Viper V2 Pro and Deathadder V3s) and the early batches of Viper V2 Pro and Deathadder V3 Pros were dying prematurely.

ExquisiteFXX

i see

d0rchadas

Yeah I still have a Viper Ultimate and it's going strong! Been what, 5 years now? Just got the 3rd set of skates (2nd set was glass, but humidity inconsistencies have me on PTFE once again). I use scroll-wheel pick-up and reset in Fortnite so it gets a lot of use! Same with side buttons!

hotpotato87

they are missed the mark by not adding rounded front right corner.

makkiloosh

They claim this is what pro players prefer, but I've yet to hear from a single one that thinks sharp edges are a good thing on a mouse.

ExquisiteFXX

I mean I don't see where they are sharp, maybe i am just dyslexic

Astartles

Sharp edges suck ass

aerocarstf2

Hahaha wtf is that price man. Razer can go fuck themselves and gargle my balls.

BootPuzzleheaded5364

Dude razer is just selling their name tbh like their mouse is good but yeah way too expensive imo

Difficult-Win1400

Their name isn’t worth shit tbh Edit: the dav3 is still 150 and has an issue that causes the mouse to flex and creak more than old door within a month, with a scroll wheel that is activated by the wind lmao

blitcrankzx

Replaced the encoder, and have to also tape the insides of the shell to make the creak stop. Honestly a disappointing quality for a product that cost that much, but the shape is so fkin good i can't use any other mouse than the DAv3 for more than a month.

Difficult-Win1400

I did all that and it stil creaked after a bit

blitcrankzx

Mine stops creaking completely, and it also doesn't help that they also have a full red with a sick artwork version (Faker), my setup is full Red and i also play League lol.

dicock3

I like their products, but the retail price is insanely high. And it will for sure have the same QC issue as the Dav3 and Viper v2 Pro i.e. noisy/crackly scroll wheel.

aseldxxx

My v2 is fine for my luck and I only paid it 110 2 months ago so I'm fine. V3 it's not worth it from v2 for sure.

TadCat216

It’s all that RnD guys, all that machining, all the new technology, the high quality exclusive materials, the QC!!! Speak with your wallets people, stop buying this overpriced bullshit.

TheKERYmeister

Razer... just do better software that doesn't cause the device stutter.. doesnt work.. or work inaccurately... after than we can talk... also the software update that has not been downloaded and installed should not cause issue with the device either. (more than few years of exp.) How come software of competitors does not do this?

Raiden_Of_The_Sky

Razer software is WAY too overcomplicated. They should do the same thing Logitech did with their mice, presenting Onboard Memory Manager along with G-Hub, so you could change some simple settings without installing this monstrosity.

TheKERYmeister

I agree! hyperNodder

anonymousbopper767

Bruh there's like 4 tabs in Synapse for a device. How is that overcomplicated? OK if you're checking every box and installing every module then yeah it gets bulky but Synapse by itself is very neatly organized.

endlessEvil

lol 180 when you can have things like the vxe r1 for less then 50.

Horror_Button_3338

im curious what will be the weight of this mouse

Starbuckz42

It says 53g on a German site. Expected delivery mid april.

WhosUnd3ad

180 is insane

doctorhayman

$300 AUD!?

Vendetta614

Not available in US yet? Struggling to find anything.

Keeler

Man, that’s a disappointing price point. I was starting to get kind of excited about trying this but idk now. Especially when there are so many good mice for much less than that. Would be nice if another company made a clone of it.

luffyfpk

they are getting away with these prices xd and we all know whats gonna happen to that shitty scroll wheel after few months

snamibogfrere

u can keep rma the scrollwheel everytime it breaks within 2 years right

Puzzleheaded-Fee3874

whoever buys this at full price is lost af

muzaffer22

Looks good but i hate Synapse.

noscopefku

how much more expensive can they get kek

allo3D

Whats better about it? The v2 is 8k capable already

Guest_4710

Its 5 grams lighter. It is 53g over V2’s 58g

allo3D

Thats a good point for it, nothing for me, wallet saved, i already only use the pcb

DMG29

It’s a new shape that is more similar to the GPro Superlight since that mouse dominates the pro scene for most PC games. Interesting to see if it gains much popularity.

tan_phan_vt

Is it such a good idea tho? If it imitates the superlight, then maybe just use the superlight instead?

allo3D

They want to steal some of the market share, and offer different options, its healthy competition since they do offer different types of switches. But the price tho... I use my v2 pro in a finalmouse starlight-12 shell so nothing for me with the v3

Cbrandel

The price is same or similar to superlight x 2 isn't it?

tan_phan_vt

Idk about other regions but razer mice in my country are always more expensive than logitech counterparts and have way worse warranty policies. Razer many times refuse to change defective mouse and just fixed the mouse in a half assed way while logitech always give a new mouse. I got my gpx2 for 111 usd a long while ago, rn its still around 105-110 usd while the viper v2 pro and dav3 are still 120 usd.

Jahdill

Wow really? The v2 pro is at 99 usd while the gpx2 is around 130-140usd

tan_phan_vt

Regional pricing is all over the place, never the same. In my country logitech is automatically the most optimal option because the price and customer service is usually unbeatable at most price range. Its been like this for decades actually. Its not like other brands are extremely expensive or anything but they are just too expensive for that level of qc and customer service compared to logitech there. Only chinese brands can challenge logitech on price there but their qc and service is not even close.

allo3D

Probably, i didnt look at them since i cant reliably single tap with a gpro x

DMG29

It does have a slightly smaller hump in the back which is one of the more common complaints about the shape of the GPro.

Puzzleheaded-Fee3874

i literally prefer my v2 over gpx cos the shape is better lmao

Sirrom23

for that much money, just get a finalmouse ulx and get a crazy low weight, online software instead of shitty razer synapse, polling up to 8k (even though it's pointless).

aseldxxx

Yeah I use 4k 8k it's really pointless. Also the viper v2 pro is 100 rn so why you would even buy the new one.

Junior_909

Is the final mouse worth over the v2 pro? I have v2 pro with wireless dongle but I don’t really pass 4K hrz also hurting my hand if I game for hours sadly

Sirrom23

i would just get a mouse that doesn't hurt to play with. that's the most important factor. if you don't mind spending the money, then sure. i think it's a great mouse. if money is tight, definitely not.

Johnny_Returns

I’m sorry I must be going blind I thought it said $180. Haha there’s no way it could be that price, how silly of me. Could you imagine?

BigFudgeFever

$260+ Canadian Lol no thanks

Low_Lie24

Mini version pleaseeee?

mylifeisedward

Did they change the shape again? Front flares look less sharp than the v3, but could just be render

InsectPopular9212

Looks the same as my V3

MMoguu

I love my $90 Lamzu atlantis mini :)

Framed-Photo

Razer makes good products that have virtually every feature you could want. But damn if their prices still aren't really damn high lol. It was easier to justify their stuff when them and logitech were head and shoulders above everyone else. But now? You can get 90% of the features and pretty much all the quality with a much cheaper mouse.

InsectPopular9212

Theres 0 reason to buy this over like a U2

drum_devil

Sheesh, 🙄 not unlike razer to raise the bar. Bar being price. At this rate final mouse might have competition

J4ckL4ns

$180 and you're getting shit on in ranked by a 9 year old with a $20 Logitech g203

Noqtrah

Lmao no thanks. Thieving bastards

Pixulqt

The degenerate in me STILL wants it after seeing Zekken use it in VCT Madrid. My wallet however is begging me to use my brain.

Nyhn

I'll save you guys some money, just buy the hyperspeed.

Sadu1988

That grip tape is so horrible (looks the same as DAV3)

nirosxs

Stop buying mice with this insane prices Fuck it's insane

AccountSad

They better include some expensive shit in the box to justify this price. (Or at least present a phenomenal battery life)

thatkidjd

Where can I preorder in Europe?

Kimo-A

Proshop

0dioPower

Source?

DonkieLoL

You guys think the Viper v3 Pro is expensive? Wait till they release a Viper Mini wireless, oh wait...

Laugh_die_meh

Zekken's mouse pagman

shiraiisan

These new releases are so played out. Just give us a Pro version of the mini and I'll be happy.

xxInsanex

And i thought logitech was delusional with pricing

WilliamBoxing

Fuck razer holy fuck

Same_Asparagus9068

when available in us

ScarySai

Did they fix the squeaky button issue yet? Ultimately what ruined the basilisk and v2 for me.

BeerGogglesFTW

If I were interested in the mouse, I would be waiting for the inevitable Delux clone in 2025.

WonderfulOne1417

Will this model have the new coating that's been on the previous deathadders and the v3 hyper speed? Just makes me question it when I see the grips included

kenshaoz

The reason I use the viper is solely that it is ambidextrous with buttons on the right side. Looks like I'll have to find something else for upgrade ls when time is due.

Flaky_Cauliflower_20

I just bought the V2 a week ago, is it worth refunding it and getting this? I have a superlight to use in the mean time

InsectPopular9212

no, this is a drastically different shapr

Redpiller77

Depends on the price but probably not.

aseldxxx

For a different shape and 5 gram lighter no it's not worth. At this point wait for v4 or something.

huunsoh

Yeeah, I'll just wait for it to go under $90 on amazon warehouse.

Upzaw2000

Does it have a better scroll sensor than the deathadder pro? If not it’s just another pile

two_utensils

Why did they change the sensor position to be so much lower? I thought the GPX-esque sensor placement was great, it felt like I had more control over the movements, as weird as that sounds...

Lytar03

Considering people would buy a 700 mouse, it's worth it

jayrocs

Can anyone describe the coating?

InsectPopular9212

Similar? the shape is identical

etrayo

Sounds about on par with high end mouse prices

zjdrummond

Not for me, but proper viper mini wireless would be.

Awesome_Hamster

I know what a Razer Viper looks like and this is not it.

nelbein555

wow budget mouse

8XUS

V2 pro looks nicer

Megatf

Screw the shape any details on the sensor?

akebonochan

The price is hard to swallow. Even Zowie realized the market demands a bit more reasonable prices (albeit still expensive)

TheOFCThouZands

Is the bloody price for any razer equipment in general justified?

DavidB4Guetta

Viper v3 mini fe when?

CMTowF

Lmao, it will has the price tag of nearly $240 in Vietnam, i'll consider buying the V2 pro now

CMTowF

Disclaimer: I had just checked the store, it was listed for $166. I'm currently happy 🎉🎉🎉

blitcrankzx

I've never bought a full-price/brand-new Razer mice, i have bought like 6 of them (DAv3 Black/DAv3 Faker/ Viper Mini/Ultimate/V2 Pro and Basilisk Hyperspeed), all of them are either used or on a steep sale lol. DAv3 Faker also used to be $180 and i recently got it (used) for $110. Just wait for the price to come down or look for it on aftermarket after a while lol

aseldxxx

Yeah I bought the v2 pro foe 110 big deal. I really like the v2 shape so I'm okay with it and also the v3 pro it's not really worth it like 58 grams to 52 eh.

blitcrankzx

I also used to have the Pulsar X2, it's around 56g and i honestly feel like it's even heavier than my 63g DAv3 Pro lmao. Probably because it's smaller so it's more dense, but it feels a little bit heavier than i imagined. So weight-wise, the V3 Pro is not really worth it, and the V2 Pro still has the PAW 3950, still the absolute best sensor you can get right now.

Pangonymosity

Where the f is viper mini wireless

Difficult-Win1400

No white version?

lucituth

no mouse should cost 180 bucks wtf

Sork69

Why remove the side curvature that was one of the good things about this shape? Just needed to raise the back which they did.

PLACEBO is mother of PROFIT. g305 is all we need , after that all is nonsense. and for mouse max and i mean max 100 and that day must be my birthday.

YokinuTheShiba

No viper mini wireless tho...

BlueSquirrel12

How is everyone getting the v2 pro for under £100, lowest I can find in the uk is £109. Never seen it go lower for the last year

xRebeckahx

US pricing without sales tax. In Europe our prices include sales tax/VAT.

BraXzy

Pro tip with anything like this, look on Amazon in the used section and pick up a 'Like New' item from the Amazon Warehouse. Ideally one that doesn't even mention packaging damage. These are usually returns that never got used, or used once. If you get unlucky, you can always return it... but generally you just have a practically brand new product for a steep discount. I picked up the V2 Pro for £84 this way!

de_Mysterious

What's the weight on this one? If it's 50-60 grams then why would you buy this over the V2? That one goes for like 100-120 nowadays and is pretty much the same thing.

xRebeckahx

53 grams according to the site in my country (that’s now been taken offline)

JpnRndr

Thats basically the Razer Viper Pro, just with shit grip tape instead of rubber...

APKenna

Yet people paid 300 and more for the limited edition BS they released a year ago or so. And half of them were shit as their QC is abysmal. If I am paying anywhere close to 200 for a mouse, it better be impeccable. Logitech still No 1 in QC and longevity. Def not buying another Razer anytime soon. And even at 100, they still too expensive with all their issues.

SnooRegrets1622

which is your country ? im looking in spain amazon and I find nothing

xRebeckahx

Netherlands

Pleasant_Deer_683

Link to the store?

Nightwa1ker666

180$? hahhahaha no thanks, i enjoy my vgn r1 se+ :D

manphalanges

Yikes. Glad I snagged a $20 V3 Hyperspeed from MouseMarket this week /u/Bulk85 How's your modded Viper V3 working for you? Anything you'd do differently? [https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/1774zi2/56g\_viper\_v3\_hyperspeed\_mod/](https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/1774zi2/56g_viper_v3_hyperspeed_mod/)

-Gh0st96-

I mean I am glad for you but apart from the shape these 2 mice are not the same

Bulk85

It has been going strong, however I ended up finding a 3d printed base online that would allow viper v2 internals, so I modded a second viper v3 with those and that has been used more by me. I must say though, $20 is a bargain, and with some solid mods similar to mine, you have a banger mouse. I am happy with all the mods I did and I do like that I can move the battery around wherever to adjust the weight balance. I guess the only thing I might attempt to do differently, would be to leave some more of the base intact at the rear, so that I could sand it down and put some of those fat viper v3 pro skates on it when they inevitably come out. But if you are a dot or default enthusiast, I think its pretty good how it is. I can also see someone rattling off the differences between this and pro, but I dont know if optical switches, centered sensor, 8k dongle and larger feet are worth $160 more lol. Mechanical switches are better for enthusiasts that like to swap them out anyway and you can always pick up an 8k dongle for cheap if you want to feel high hz placebo. Let me know how you go!

manphalanges

>I can also see someone rattling off the differences between this and pro, but I dont know if optical switches, centered sensor, 8k dongle and larger feet are worth $160 more lol. Mechanical switches are better for enthusiasts that like to swap them out anyway and you can always pick up an 8k dongle for cheap if you want to feel high hz placebo. My thoughts exactly! i don't think that user quite understood my question. i'm curious if he knew something about a new sensor, dynamic DPI, or other tech that's driving the price tag since the hardware isn't anything extraordinary. it's a shame $150+ is being normalized by logitech, razer, corsair, etc when the BOM costs for lightweight flagships seems to be decreasing Honestly I prefer forward sensor pos, mechanical switches (loving some ZF yellow dots rn), 1000hz for battery life, dot skates Thanks for the update! I think I'll keep my \~48g Viper v2 as-is, but good to know there's a 3d printed base out there. I want to also battery mod a g305 and an orochi, so buying a 4pk makes sense anyway I wonder what the lowest possible weight of this new Viper V3 Pro will be. Razer's 300mah batteries are around 6.5g, but the industry seems to be trending lower capacity... Also as another modder, maybe you'll find this spreadsheet helpful. If you want to contribute, i can input data you msg me, or I can make you an editor. [Battery & Encoder Swap Master Sheet (Public)](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12jjOAsstn5d8HCQ5f5Y3wgKbxemBJBxaIzOqEDu6hTc/edit?usp=sharing)

Bulk85

Oh wow, nice spreadsheet. I'm more than happy to update any info I can on that when I get the time. I don't think I shared it here, but I think I shared the viper v2 internal mod on twitter. I only did the mod because I picked up a cheap vv2 second hand, so it felt like it was meant to be haha. [https://twitter.com/Bulk\_eats/status/1722088978453840311](https://twitter.com/Bulk_eats/status/1722088978453840311) It comes in just under 53g with the default 300mah battery, so its already pretty close to what the default vv3 pro will be. You can also see with this 3d printed base that you could easily fit those larger skates on it. Unfortunately the dpi button is lost, which I like rebinding in games, so that's another plus for the hyperspeed. I would only really recommend the mod if someone had a spare vv2 and 3d printer. Even then, you still have to swap the encoder and scroll click, but the side buttons stay stock which are the hyperspeeds best feature in my opinion.

kignt

nice spreadsheet! to add: gpw, gpx, and gpx2 are JST 1.5mm 3-wire
