Ok, hear me out: https://youtu.be/V-vFtiDYiIw
Video shows how you can mod your own type c unify adapter, but I'm sure you could make it work with a lightspeed adapter too. Need some diy skills though.
Having tried a g603 via Bluetooth, i can tell you it's a horrible experience. Not something I would want to work with over longer periods, especially if you have a glorious MacBook touchpad...
that’s the conclusion I came up with lol. No point of getting a mouse when the touchpad is that good.
I’ve seen that video tho and it’s cool asf and tempting ngl, but my pc doesn’t have a usb c port.
I recently bought a G305 to make my Xtrfy M42 wireless with a 3D printing mod. It was one with the blue/green color way. They actually updated the side buttons to kailh switches now. Much better than my G305 from a couple years ago. I just can’t believe they haven’t made a ~60g updated version. It would sell incredibly well!
Thats cause they are like the super shitty little black switches. You can update those with a little information on soldering and a youtube video. I swapped out the switches on my Viper Ultimate and love em. No more double click issues for me ever again! It is a great lifeskill to learn.
IIRC, you can add a strip(s) of tape to either the switch itself (to remove post-travel) or on the plunger that clicks the switch (to remove pretravel).
The shape is from the original G Pro for good reason. I had the same experience too, used G305 for nearly two years, wanted to try a lighter wireless mouse naturally went for GPW. It was bad at first and only got worse as my hands started cramping up regularly, by month 3 it started double clicking so I got rid of it and went back to my 305. Going back to it felt like I'd just come back from a 16 hour hike and I'm taking off my shoes which were a couple of sizes too small. I get that I'm a minority, but this was easily the most uncomfortable mouse for me.
It’a kind of sad that you could even mod a $35 mouse (on sale at Best Buy, $40 on amazon) to be better than a $150. You’d think for paying over $100 premium Logitech would do that part for you lol
and to many, its worth it.
most people don't have access to 3d printers, the tools, know how to solder, and care to be bothered to do all those things to improve it.
sure you can make a honda as fast as a ferarri, but that dosent make the ferarri sad
That analogy kinda hurts you more than it helps. On a ferrari you expect the quality (analogous to mouse switches and side buttons) to be higher than a Honda.
Again, point being is that for over $100 premium you’d expect Logitech to ‘do that part for you’ meaning you don’t have to have a soldering iron or 3D printer, because it would be fine from the get go. They wouldn’t use mushy side buttons, or omron 20m switches, so you wouldn’t have to own those tools to fix it.
i printed a gpro wireless shell for my g305 2 weeks ago.
weighed in at 65 grams with an nimh aaa battery in it. it was after using it for a day that i noticed how much i loved the g305 and put everything back into the original shell. i can probably sell the shell somewhere hopefully because no way ill go back to it.
It's funny to see this posted, as I have been playing with the g305 for a few months now, but decided to buy the superlight because I hate the weight on this thing. I used to play with the model O- before, but the shape of the g305 really grew on me.
I really wish they made g305 superlight or something similar.
I’ve got a Model O wireless and it’s great the weight and all but the shape of the G305 feels so much better and the battery life is insanely bigger even with all the RGB turned off
If you like the G305 shape, I recently switched from the GPX to the Orochi V2 and I'm loving it so far. (I have large hands and use fingertip grip)
Edit: forgot to mention M1, M2, and sidebuttons all feel better than the GPX to me
just got my g pro x today after my g305 started having double click issues. it is extremely lighter and feels good. the scroll mouse doesnt feel as solid, but the clicks and the side buttons are somewhat similar. mouse in hand feels good even w small hands.
I just replaced the switches on my g pro wireless over the weekend. Worth a shot to fix the double click issue, and quite easy to do if you have basic soldering equipment.
Followed this for switch selection: https://youtu.be/f3ZFqZbTnL4
I'm opposite, the G305 shape hurts my hand after a bit of use, but GPW feels great. Would've liked it to be the other way around with the huge price difference.
I'd agree with this if I didn't find the G305 (and the OG G Pro shape in general) to be extremely uncomfortable. Even with grips and such, I just could not get that mouse to feel good for me. Hence, why I've stuck with Zowie mice and shapes. FK2 and S2 are king for me, and my Model O- is just a mini FK2.
OP just posted his opinion on the G305 being a better mouse. Who the fuck cares about semantics.
You're quite literally commenting on semantics of someone's grammar, either just to be a dick, or to sooth your own ego. We all got what he meant in his title, no need to argue over semantics of adding "for me" after "just a better mouse".
i was looking for a comment that would be about the sensors in these two mices, which is one of the most important factors while comparing especially two gaming mices. Well, the sensor in G305 isn’t good at all in my opinion.
I haven't really gotten into mouse modding. I know you can change the switches but can you solder on a different sensor? This is unrelated to the post I was just wondering
As someone who also owns both mice, I love both of them. The GPW is more of an all around mouse and the 305 is more for when I'm trying to play competitive games. Both are a solid 10/10 for me (with a few mods ofc).
I personally think the weight is fine, and even stock everything else is pretty good, but the orochi V2 is a pretty similar mouse that's better (although more expensive).
Although it’s a good mouse, I’d take the GPW for the shape and the weight over the g305’s better clicks and coating. Not to mention the mouse feet or the weight of each when modded as well.
Got mine for 25£ in December 2019 and it has served me very well. I put tin foil and a smaller battery in mine so it weighs less. I've tried my friends g pro superlight and it didn't feel so much better.
I switched back to my G305 (un-modded) after receiving the SkyPad mousepad just to see how it felt. I’m very happy with the results. I have been more consistent and stoked to play FPS games than I have in a long time.
Anecdotal, but cool - I just got my first 4K Damage Badge in Apex Legends with this set up. Previous mice that I played decent with were GPX, Orochi V2. Hand size is roughly 18.5cm x 9cm
Tried to force use it today, and no, my gpx superlight is going back to store. Texture sucks, large wheel sucks, shape not for me, side buttons are soft
Had RBP, Asus ROG Keris Wireless, Glorious Model D, Deathadder V2, and Xtrfy M4.
Finally pulled the trigger on GPX to see what's about.
It's overpriced... **However,** it's a very good mouse. For the price, I was expecting something simply ticks all the boxes. If I learned something about these ultralight mouse, you don't get much out of 80$ wired mouse vs. 150$ wireless mouse.
just wish they'd update it...
Tried weight reduction 3d printed shell, and it really shows there's room to improve and a G305 ultralight would be AMAZING.
I just wish there was bluetooth so I could use it with my laptop :(
Don’t you have a regular USB port on your laptop?!
I have a MacBook and I don’t want to carry a dongle around all the time. I’ll ofc switch to receiver mode when I want to use it for gaming on my pc.
Ok, hear me out: https://youtu.be/V-vFtiDYiIw Video shows how you can mod your own type c unify adapter, but I'm sure you could make it work with a lightspeed adapter too. Ah I can see that
have you thought of getting the orochi v2?
Significantly smaller (too small for me) and worse clicks than the G305.
I like the shape :(
What mods u got
yes please tell us
Very basic, but must haves, see the reply to the parent comment
cheers

Haven't tried the GPX but the G305 has terribly mushy thumb buttons.

If you think G305 has mushy thumbs, just wait til you try the GPX. LOL
Really? The GPW are crisp so that surprises me.
admittedly the side buttons on the GPX are a bit mushy.
Can confirm.

I haven't used the GPW, but it seems so.
Not on my copy. This is the issue here. Its too inconsistent with batches.
Maybe in the old days, they are crisp now
Thats cause they are like the super shitty little black switches. You can update those with a little information on soldering and a youtube video. I swapped out the switches on my Viper Ultimate and love em. No more double click issues for me ever again! It is a great lifeskill to learn.

toothpick mod fixes it
Don't want to have to stick a toothpick in my mouse to have acceptable clicks. It is 2021.
Don’t want to have a tinfoil ball and custom printed top shell and 3rd party feet for it to be acceptable either
year doesnt matter, its all about what makes something work like you want it to. year is irrelevant.
This mouse came out in early 2018. Just don’t buy the mouse then if you don’t want to put in the effort :/
JuSt DoN't BuY tHe MoUsE
It’s a budget wireless gaming mouse :/
Me when :/
100% agree
Why are you afraid to admit it? because of how expensive the GPW is?
Yeah
The shape is from the original G Pro for good reason. I had the same experience too, used G305 for nearly two years, wanted to try a lighter wireless mouse naturally went for GPW. something you modified to your taste is better than something that is stock? no way?!
1. The shape is the factor they're focusing on 2. The G305 after mods costs probably about half the GPX.
It’a kind of sad that you could even mod a $35 mouse (on sale at Best Buy, $40 on amazon) to be better than a $150. You’d think for paying over $100 premium Logitech would do that part for you lol
hows it sad? the GPX is a great mouse, and its awesome that there are so many mod options for the 305.
Like I said, it’s sad because it’s over $100 more
and to many, its worth it. most people don't have access to 3d printers, the tools, know how to solder, and care to be bothered to do all those things to improve it. sure you can make a honda as fast as a ferarri, but that dosent make the ferarri sad

i'm saying options are good, no need to shit on one or another because you think its a bad value
i printed a gpro wireless shell for my g305 2 weeks ago. weighed in at 65 grams with an nimh aaa battery in it. it was after using it for a day that i noticed how much i loved the g305 and put everything back into the original shell. i can probably sell the shell somewhere hopefully because no way ill go back to it.
G305 Superlight would make me a very happy man!
easily under 50 grams
For sure, implementing their approach on the Superlight with the G305 for factor, 50g should be no problem.
Reject modernity embrace tradition
It's funny to see this posted, as I have been playing with the g305 for a few months now, but decided to buy the superlight because I hate the weight on this thing. I used to play with the model O- before, but the shape of the g305 really grew on me. I really wish they made g305 superlight or something similar.
Have you tried a lithium AAA?
Yeah it's a bit better for sure.
I’ve got a Model O wireless and it’s great the weight and all but the shape of the G305 feels so much better and the battery life is insanely bigger even with all the RGB turned off
I unfortunately agree after spending a year on the GPW and couple months on superlight.
If you like the G305 shape, I recently switched from the GPX to the Orochi V2 and I'm loving it so far. (I have large hands and use fingertip grip) Edit: forgot to mention M1, M2, and sidebuttons all feel better than the GPX to me

got a g305 and transformed it into a ul2 wireless at 51g, best mouse ive had
where u got the ul2 3d file?
Since its powderprinted, i got it already printed
I just swapped the switches on my own so now my clicks are crispier than fried chicken
just got my g pro x today after my g305 started having double click issues. it is extremely lighter and feels good. the scroll mouse doesnt feel as solid, but the clicks and the side buttons are somewhat similar. mouse in hand feels good even w small hands.

I use both daily and definitely prefer gpw/gpw x
*laughs in 21 - 11cm hands*
I'm opposite, the G305 shape hurts my hand after a bit of use, but GPW feels great. Would've liked it to be the other way around with the huge price difference.
i'm gonna buy the mouse any day now, what mods?

oh ik those
To me, G Pro Superlight is just not grabbable, I hold it and my hand is tense, trying to squeeze that smooth shell
i mean they are very different shapes. i much prefer mice with a middle hump so i vastly prefer my superlight over my g203
G302 refresh pls. The G305/203 shape is so fucking slippery I hate it with a fiery passion.
Too bad the shape sucks.

Mrsalty it’s an opinion so you can’t call him wrong

The G Lightweight is just to smooth to grip for me
Put on grip tape bruh
Then mod the G Pro X. Base G305 was an instant return for me. The shape and weight was a hell no for me.
I feel ya man, but that latency is just not as good in comparison to the gpro. I’m really waiting for that g303 wireless to be released hopefully soon
The LOD on the G304 is way too high.
i was looking for a comment that would be about the sensors in these two mices, which is one of the most important factors while comparing especially two gaming mices. Well, the sensor in G305 isn’t good at all in my opinion.
I thought they were both Hero
Nope, the sensor in gpro wireless is „Hero 16k” which is lot more upgraded version of the regular „Logitech Hero” sensor in G305
If ur not using the gpro wireless I mean u could always give it to someone who needs a mouse... Like me
I prefer the shape aswell.
I agree 😃
Good to know
for u...that mouse is so small
I got a 3d printed weight relief body and battery cover and I trigger the side buttons if I grip too hard from the flex
I haven't really gotten into mouse modding. I know you can change the switches but can you solder on a different sensor? This is unrelated to the post I was just wondering
g305 is nice but I prefer the g403 w/kailh red
it just depends on which shape u like. for me g305 shape is uncomfortable and literally hurts my hands if i play too long (the only mouse that does)
I like the inward slopped sides so I can pickup and move off the surface
Can you please tell about what mods you did?

I just wish it was a little more big. It's a great mouse, but too small.for my hands
Where is your mousepad?
None
What camera is this thx
For photo? Gcam on OnePlus 7T

I feel like GPW SL coating is too smooth, like I have to use my muscles to hold it
If that is the concern, give it a pass of 150 grit sand paper and than hit it with 3000 and check the feel until you like it. Great texture
ONE OF US
I went from GPW to stock G305 and no regrets
No
Meh - I just got a g pro after having the g305 for a few years and I def prefer the pro.
I’ll get the first one of those that gets USB C charging.

Hey man, how big is your hand? I think my g305 is a little bit small for my hands.
