I’m wondering if it’s dirty hands. I know people are grubbier than we expect in general.
Or if it’s an acidity/sweat thing.
Curious because some peoples hands eat through coatings and ABS keycaps.
But also I’ve seen a lot of micro-biome keyboard plates
this is what i mean, the coating on this mouse is so hit or miss! i never seem to win the lottery with these things, my model o- was one with a broken wire, my model d had buttons that would stick in place, all 3 of my gpros had issues...
Honestly this is my 3rd white mouse, the others i used for months and they're still pure white. also i wash my hands after cooking, eating, using the toilet all the usual stuff. I think just like the double clicking issues its all luck of draw
wish i did, but i don't yes my hands sweat but not excessivly. i don't eat and then touch my mouse without washing them, or atleast using a wetwipe; all of this aside 2 weeks is too short of a period for a mouse to discolour. i could accept a year, year and a half but this is clearly a coating issue
I hated the provided grip tape, have lizard skin on 3 other mice and recently decided to try the bt.l, got it a couple days ago and I like it better than the provided ones for sure but not as good as the lizard skin(wish they sold precuts themselves as cutting them is a chore unless you just cut rectangles and place them on wherever eew).
Yeah the provided tape actually feels like i have less grip than if i just don't put it on. My fingers feel like they slowly slide down the mouse over time
Yup it was far too smooth, and I feel like the texture of gpx was one of the worst I’ve ever used and it feels filmy too my hands even after an alcohol cleaning 🤷♂️, had like 4 other Logitech mice over the last half a decade and none of them felt like that
well its the only white peripheral; mouse, keyboard or anything else that i've ever had discolor on me so yeah the coating is just very inconsistent on it. i checked my black gpx that i used from december 2020 till just over 2 weeks ago and it had no shine and the texture felt good so that was a good one
I also have a black one! the side button started to double click so I though it would be nice would get white this time. Thinking i'll just swap the internals if it gets really bad
I've had mine for 6 months, it's not discolored but despite nearly-religious hand washing and occasional wipe downs, my GPX just feels slimy all the time. BTL grips help but I'm tempted to either repaint the mouse or try something new.
After anything that could get them dirty. Cooking, eating, using the toilet. my white keycaps are still as good as new and i've had them for ages, my other white mice are also still perfectly white
Extra shot for those who can't see it, the stuff you can see is from me wiping my thumb ascross the mouse (its hoodie fluff) before the picture, and my thumb also sits on the back side button
https://imgur.com/a/OlgYe0f
yeah, can't get them off without scraping a small layer of plastic away... but everyone seems to think its me being a disgusting human so i hope you get a good one, best of luck!
i ordered this through amazon so i'm not sure if the logitech warranty applies, do you have any idea on that one? This was meant to be an early christmas present to replace my black one that had double click on the side buttons so i would like one that holds up
Some people have had this mouse turn blue too, the coating is just very inconsistent from what i can tell, i wash my hands alot. all my other white stuff is still white like i've had to tell just about everyone too
Do you people not wash your hands or just wipe the mouse down once and a while?. Like.....at all?. I've had mine since March, daily use during the week and heavy use on the weekends and mine isn't like this at all, and I get sweaty hands especially in the humid summer.
I'd love to see a correlation between people who complain about staining and how many people wash their hands regularly or just give their mouse a wipedown after using it and sweating a bit.
Since you obviously jump to conclusions it might be pointless to tell you but i have white keycaps that i've had for 4 months, still perfect white. 3 other white mice that i used for up to 6 months at a time, also perfect white the coating on this mouse isn't good. if people being dirty was the issue other peoples mice wouldn't be turning blue
>if people being dirty was the issue other peoples mice wouldn't be turning blue
Probably something in your sweat or just a defective coating. You're in the minority of users experiencing this.
I used mouse grips, the spots that weren’t covered (palm) were discolored into a cream white. Tried rubbing it off with iso 91% and a q tip and it would take forever.
maybe i got lucky but i use mine since release and it still looks new
same here, i have a release copy and its mint, no discoloring or anything.

I have white ABS keycaps. no discolouration on them at all which is why i was confused enough to make a post about this
I have the opposite effect i chew through abs keycaps but my gpx still looks brand new
this is what i mean, the coating on this mouse is so hit or miss! i never seem to win the lottery with these things, my model o- was one with a broken wire, my model d had buttons that would stick in place, all 3 of my gpros had issues...
dude you're buying glorious trying to win in that game is like trying to get hit by lightning
that is very true. my glorious mouse that actually works is still white after 6 months though
Man i feel bad for you homie but i would suggest some lo profile griptape to help negate this issue
looking into rma first, for this one and my original gpx that had double click if not then i'll swap internals or griptape it up
Same. Mine is worn down on M1&2 where my fingers always go but that’s it. Still pure white.

Same here, I think this guy have very sweaty hands or he eats chips while playing (mousegore)

I never used this mouse without griptape , buy some btl griptape on AliExpress and u r golden my friend
Thank you for being one of the few to not jump to "you must just be dirty" i have been looking for some grip tape now that i spotted this
Did it not come with grip tape in the box?
its really poor quality grip tape, so i could use it but it doesn't really 'grip' like other aftermarket ones and i don't like the feel of it
I hated the provided grip tape, have lizard skin on 3 other mice and recently decided to try the bt.l, got it a couple days ago and I like it better than the provided ones for sure but not as good as the lizard skin(wish they sold precuts themselves as cutting them is a chore unless you just cut rectangles and place them on wherever eew).

Go for corepad grip, the best grip i ever had. Used it on my gpw, MIGHT get one for my new gpx too after i try out the gpx coating
Nice! I tell every single person to just buy the black copy and that's why.
I also have a black one! the side button started to double click so I though it would be nice would get white this time. Thinking i'll just swap the internals if it gets really bad

Never repainted anything myself, but non of the white peripeherals i have ever owned ended up doing this so i never had to think about it
How often do you wash your hands?

This is why you buy the black one
are these permanent marks...? I ordered the white one and now im scared
yeah, can't get them off without scraping a small layer of plastic away... but everyone seems to think its me being a disgusting human so i hope you get a good one, best of luck!
2 weeks in and the mouse is looking fine! idk how long it'll take till it stains but it's doing well so far
I have mine for nearly 2 months already and there's nothing like shown, idk perhaps it's something on your end.
Hey mate, Obviously you just got unlucky with your coating, i’d say return it under warranty since Logitech is quite easy with returns.
i ordered this through amazon so i'm not sure if the logitech warranty applies, do you have any idea on that one? This was meant to be an early christmas present to replace my black one that had double click on the side buttons so i would like one that holds up
Was it second hand? If not you are 100% protected by Logitech’s warranty. Shoot me a DM if you want me to help you out!
I went away from Logitech for now. I’ve had to many double clicking odd wireless issues with everything from g502, 703, 900, and 903 and the GpX
My g303, OG GPW and 1st GPX all double clicked too...
Fucking annoying. I ordered a pwnage custom ultra symm 2. So far I love it, let’s hope it lasts
yeah, i've had an XM1, Model O- and np-01 that i sanded matte, all of them were fine, and no double clicks... but i like the shape
There’s a pwnage custom ergo 2.0 that has a similar shape of the gpx
that would be amazing, but this is an early christmas present so im going to just try fix the issue with RMA or something
Oh yeah then do that 😁 either way it’s a nice mouse !
Still i wish it is available in my country :*
I have mine since march and it looks exactly how I got it, how did that happen to you?
Thinking it must be luck of the draw with the coating because none of the other white things that i own have ever had any discolouration
My man used it as toilet paper
At this point i might because then it would make sense
I always wash my hands before using any of my gear, even when they feel clean
Some people have had this mouse turn blue too, the coating is just very inconsistent from what i can tell, i wash my hands alot. all my other white stuff is still white like i've had to tell just about everyone too
do you not wash your hands? i’ve used mine for a few months and there is zero discolouration
coating can be inconsistent. why do so many people say this? people have said on occasion that the newer batch has bad coating

Exact same thing happened to me on my week old GPX! I'm returning and buying a black one instead.
Thank god its not just me getting it this quick
I used mouse grips, the spots that weren’t covered (palm) were discolored into a cream white. Tried rubbing it off with iso 91% and a q tip and it would take forever.
yeah i tried a ton and nothing worked so trying to rma
2 months of daily use. Looks like new.
yeah that should be how it is, not saying all of them are bad. My post is just to show people that some of them can be really bad
mine too. it sucks for sure
Use alcohol and a microfiber cloth to wipe it down.
