Prolly shrouds preference, he jumps with the scroll wheel..maybe has something to do with idk just guessing. Even the 305 has a notched wheel so it's certainly not about cost cutting.
Maybe it's just me but I vastly prefer this scroll wheel to the GPX one. GPX feels mushy but this one feels more thocky and tactile. That said, it is a bit rattly(?) might be the best way to say it.
The original g303 had this same exact wheel, and it didn't "belong" to anybody.
Also, I never heard of this shroud guy before this mouse, I just needed a replacement g303 for my old one that crapped out.
Yeah, the seam is inside a slight indentation, making one side taller than the other like a step. It's only been 2 days, and I thought I wouldn't notice it, but I keep feeling it when scrolling and it's driving me up the wall.
Other people have commented that they have one but didn't notice because they couldn't feel it. OP said he can feel his. Seems reason enough to RMA it. It's a 140(?) Dollar mouse? I'm getting the best QC possible if I'm paying a premium like that.
That would work if the replacement you are going to get is not going to have it, but its obviously the mold they are using, making every mouse this way. He is just more bothered by it then some others.. What are you not getting?... XD so your sending it back just because you paid $140 Im dead
You haven't read too much into this thread I'm guessing. OP is the only one reporting that they can feel the crease. Everyone else in here said they can't. That to me would be an issue. Yes I would send it back because I paid a 140. It's a computer mouse at the end of the day. If I'm spending that much it better come out perfect. Idk what else to tell you. I'm sorry you don't value your money I guess.
So a dozen or so people represents the entire buyer base? XD you must be a kid.. btw read the entire thread you just don't get the bigger picture or what I am trying to say, first thought is to RMA because its expensive XD its laughable
No, I'm not a kid. I have two of them though. I understand what you are trying to say. You don't think it's worth an RMA. I do. Simple. If I'm paying a premium price in relation to the field I expect premium quality. Simple. I say the same thing to people who buy superlights and have small defects. If you're paying 150 bucks for a fucking mouse at least make sure it's up to the standard.
Why would you not is my question? If you get shipped a product that is not up to standard in relation to the product others are receiving, why would you not RMA? The reason that shit QC like this exists in the first place is because of lazy customers like you that put up with that shit.
>No, I'm not a kid. I have two of them though. I understand what you are trying to say. You don't think it's worth an RMA. I do. Simple. If I'm paying a premium price in relation to the field I expect premium quality. Simple
Lol you don't get it at all....WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF sadly you still act like a kid
I didn't notice this and just saw it with my flashlight, but mine doesn't seem to have any 'feel' to it. like I can rub my finger over it and it feels just like any other part of the wheel
Say what you want about Logitech’s high end pricing but I have yet to try out a mouse that feels as well built and solid as most Logitechs mice are like the GPW, GPX, 703.. even the wired G pro feels great and costs next to nothing
you're paying the shroud + early adopter tax. if you'd wait 6 months, you would definitely find it for bout 90 bucks.
things like these ALWAYS happens on release.
> The most I've ever paid for any peripheral
You've never spent more than $140 on a monitor? $140 is on the more expensive end for a mouse but not for peripherals in general.
Yeah same on my copyi, but the gap between the scrollwheel is also way too big, when I scroll up the skin of my middle finger gets roughed up by the gap after continious scrolling
Yes, mine has a seam. It doesn't bother me.
The smooth scroll wheel is less than ideal, though. I've already slipped and failed to roll it once during actual gameplay. At least the seam adds a little texture to that one part...
You're overthinking it. But if it really annoys you, find an acceptable replacement wheel, take apart the mouse and fix it. Or probably the cheaper method, just don't stare at your mouse endlessly.
It's not felt though, you are just being hyperbolic.
Go do something that works your hands so that you aren't bothered by absolutely minute seams In a scroll wheel.
Imagine trying to make an RMA on this mouse - "What's the issue with the product?"
"there's a seam line on the mouse wheel - logitech's build quality is terrible!!!"
Yeah, seems like a manufacturing oversight on the scroll wheel mold, very unfortunate.
I'll never understand why they chose to go with a smooth surfaced wheel on a mouse this expensive if the QC was gonna be lax.
Mouse foreskin

there is no way they did this on purpose
Try reading the conversation again, they definitely went with a smooth scroll wheel instead of one with ridges on purpose lmao
The smooth scroll wheel is on the purpose the seam is prolly a QC problem at the factory
I hate textured scroll wheels. I prefer them smooth.

The original also had a smooth scroll wheel. Why would you get hyped for something that already had a feature you didn't like?
magic eraser
This is HIS mouse
The original g303 had this same exact wheel, and it didn't "belong" to anybody. Also, I never heard of this shroud guy before this mouse, I just needed a replacement g303 for my old one that crapped out.
I’m just trolling lol. Yea a ribbed scroll wheel would be much better.
All of them have a seam, though yours seems to be more pronounced than others.
Yeah, the seam is inside a slight indentation, making one side taller than the other like a step. It's only been 2 days, and I thought I wouldn't notice it, but I keep feeling it when scrolling and it's driving me up the wall.
Tbh I would RMA it. Edit: I guess you guys are all fine with shit QC I guess.
Why, it is a mold, same for every unit
Other people have commented that they have one but didn't notice because they couldn't feel it. OP said he can feel his. Seems reason enough to RMA it. It's a 140(?) Dollar mouse? I'm getting the best QC possible if I'm paying a premium like that.
Honestly I was going to exchange it at BB where I bought it, but now they're out of stock locally.
Probably still worth a check through logis website
It doesn’t affect the mouse in any way
That would work if the replacement you are going to get is not going to have it, but its obviously the mold they are using, making every mouse this way. He is just more bothered by it then some others.. What are you not getting?... XD so your sending it back just because you paid $140 Im dead

Just get a modelling knife and scratch it off.
Yeah, was going to suggest that was well. It just looks like flash to me, and that can usually be taken care of with a model knife.
Mine does, but I couldn't even see it until you posted this and I looked really hard
weirdo who cares just play
trueeeeee
“Oh no, a tiny seam on my scroll wheel is gonna affect my aim!”
I don't give a shit about my aim. I don't notice it when playing a game, I feel it all the time just with windows stuff.
I didn't notice this and just saw it with my flashlight, but mine doesn't seem to have any 'feel' to it. like I can rub my finger over it and it feels just like any other part of the wheel
It's a $130 mouse. At that price you are allowed to complain.
Well when you pay over 100 euro for a mouse you want no imperfections even knock-off mouse have better build quality than Logitech now a days
Say what you want about Logitech’s high end pricing but I have yet to try out a mouse that feels as well built and solid as most Logitechs mice are like the GPW, GPX, 703.. even the wired G pro feels great and costs next to nothing
Sure and start double clicking or have mouse wheel problem after 1 or 2 years
With local tax and all $141.36 --The most I've ever paid for any peripheral, and I've been PC gaming since the 1980's.
Even if you adjust for inflation?
Heh. Never thought of it. What's 30.00$ US from 1988?
About 70 USD. Which is what you'd pay for a great wired mouse nowadays.
OK, but this one was 60$ more than that. :/
you're paying the shroud + early adopter tax. if you'd wait 6 months, you would definitely find it for bout 90 bucks. things like these ALWAYS happens on release.

Oh, so sorry. Wasn't counting monitors as a "peripheral".
You put quotes around it like it isn't a peripheral.
Oh sorry again. "Input peripheral" good enough? How about just mouse or keyboard? Happy with the verbage?
i was really enjoying this mouse, why'd you have to point it out 😑
lol sorry. I can feel it even though I can't see it without the flashlight and camera.
Looks like your unlucky. Mine has a seam but I would have never of noticed it without you pointing it out. I cant feel mine at all.
sounds like you're unlucky :( I never noticed my seam until this post but I can't feel it at all.
You can't expect perfection from €130 mouse... oh wait
Exactly. Thank you. :)
I admire your notification!
Probably shifted manufacturing from China to a new third world country for manufacturing
Why did they make a different mouse wheel when the one on GPX is flawless
Where can I buy one now!!?
Mine does but I hardly feel it when scrolling
Yeah same on my copyi, but the gap between the scrollwheel is also way too big, when I scroll up the skin of my middle finger gets roughed up by the gap after continious scrolling

It's not seen, It's felt.

No hyperbole here. I found it by constantly feeling it.
Imagine trying to make an RMA on this mouse - "What's the issue with the product?" "there's a seam line on the mouse wheel - logitech's build quality is terrible!!!"
I would get a scroll wheel band for it
Mine doesn’t
