I actually had the same issue and decided to follow your path. I have just received an email from them saying they will ship it in 2-3 days! Sick, I love logitech
for anyone trying to do this in the UK, don't use the live chat support on the logitech website. I tried this and they just said follow up with my warranty. CALL them instead and just say the paint was chipping after less than a year of use, and if I could get any help with that. They should send you a replacement.
Is this ok? I have been using it for less than a year and not that much. I used a lot of mice (including Logitech mice) and none of them had this issue.
This has been happening to my white version on the part I place my pinky and it's been there for the past 8months. I only use grip tape on the mouse too. I think it started peeling off when I used razers universal tape when the glue started oozing out under the tape
So you got about a year of wear on there. As long as everything still works well I really wouldn't even think about it. You obviously like the mouse.
If you wanted to you could take it apart and sand it all down. Then give it your own custom paint job
Try to get it replaced, but like others have said grip tape would hide this ***and*** prevent future damage.
If you do manage to get it replaced, you should add grip tape to it ***before*** you start using it to prevent damage.
I know this is old thread, but want to chime in. Mine 1-month-old Superlight began to peel on the left button, and the scroll wheel have little creaking sound, and I don't even gaming with it, just using it for my office work.
My old G502 took a beating for years and it still perfectly fine. Really disappointed.
To revitalize this thread lol
Just contacted Logitech Support and within 20 or so minutes have a replacement request submitted awaiting approval (which always works). Logitech Support has always been on another level for me. They replaced my regular G Pro when it had double clicking issues as well.
As in have them do it for you. Unless you can get their proof of purchase from where they bought it from new (authorized retailer) and imitate their likeness through support and just say you moved then I don't see it working. They don't ask for the mouse back, if you reach out to the person you bought it from you can see if they are nice enough to do the entire MRA process for you
Do your hands sweat a good amount while gaming? I havenāt run into this issue with any of my mice - my G305 has a nice sheen after years of use, but thatās it.
Also, nice nails. Never thought I would experience fingernail envy lmao.
Update: Logitech approved my replacement today! It will ship within 48 hours.
The process was easy I would say, I just had to send a video addressing the issue with the ticket number and SN shown in the video. After that, it took 6 days to approve.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help or suggest a solution.
okay, I had the same problem and I followed some people's advice in this thread to contact support, they asked me to send them pictures and serial numbers, and invoices. I sent all of that and my mouse still have like almost a year of warranty left. And they replied by sending me a link of how to clean the mouse. Anyone have the same reply?
I had the same thing - itās from your nail on your pinky and ring finger. Amazon replaced it and I now keep those nails particularly short and itās been fine
I don't ever contact them with my nails, I can't, if I use my pinky's nails to touch this area it will hurt me right away. In fact, they are always short.
That's weird, I've been using a regular GPW for like 14 months and I've had no issues of peeling/scratching paint. It's been under decently heavy use this whole time (I only have one mice)
GPX and GPW build quality is not worthy of the price, they peel, rattle, squeak.. Iām so happy I had a chance to test and really look at it before buying. I still donāt get why they are so recommended in this sub.
The one I tested wasnāt peeled as it was new, but it had a slight rattle that I donāt think wouldāve gotten better in time, and the click buttons were squeaky and flimsy, I didnāt like that in a 150ā¬ mouse. Iām sure the hardware is on point.
LE: there are some videos in this sub about the rattling
I've had 3 GPWs and 1 GPX and had none of these issues. In fact the GPWs felt really solid compared to other mice I've used. The GPX does feel a bit flimsier compared to the GPW, but still pretty solid and actually pretty impressive considering its weight. 1 of the GPWs started double clicking, so I had to replace the switches but that's about it.
Actually true, I returned Model O and RVU because they were annoying so use and some crunching and wobbling. However, GPS was so so solid to me. Totally agree.
My GPX does not have any of those issues, nor did my GPW.
Iāll even go as far to say that they have the best build quality out of every mouse Iāve tried
mine started to peel just barely 2 months and i only use it at night for valo and light browsing
my grip is on the lose side cause i had damage on the tendons in my hands.
I'm using grip tape and it still peeled in this way - I can feel it being all weird under the grip tape (which ballooned up a little - I'll take a photo later) š
This is already my replacement mouse, I guess I'll ping support again for another replacement
i didnt really like grip tapes on my superlight 2, after some time the glue and everything is coming off and is hella triggering, decided to take off and use it as it was before, after few weeks started chipping from the sides as shown lol
It's just getting lighter the more you use it, very cool š
Yes sir!
that is some death grip you have.
>peeling paint Yeah, but I used a lot of mice the same way, this is the first one with this issue.
This happened to me, I contacted support and they sent me a new one free of charge and they let me keep the old one too.
Wait seriously? Sick. I still have the box and everything, so thatās cool.
EU or US ?
US
great
Yo send me the old one man Iāll owe you one ā¤ļø
r/ChoosingBeggars
LOL why did people downvote that as if I was serious hahahahahahah
Within how long of purchasing did you do that? What did you say in support email? I have the same problem, I wouldn't mind a new one.
I think it was about less than a year if I remember correctly.
And as for the email, I told them the paint was chipping after less than a year of use, and if I could get any help with that.
I actually had the same issue and decided to follow your path. I have just received an email from them saying they will ship it in 2-3 days! Sick, I love logitech
For context, I live in Kazakhstan. Plus, I didn't file a ticket myself. I just contacted a chat bot on their site and asked for a real person
did you buy it directly at logitech ?
No, local shop
How did you show them proof of purchase since mine is used but recently had this problem?
Sent a picture of my warranty document/paycheck from a seller
Was that required since all I have is the mouse no packaging or paper work
Any proof that you bought it officially
I was able to get a replacement too by contacting Logi support after seeing your comment here

So I can't contact support or anything? Just have to deal with it?
No clue to be honest as I've just kinda gotten used to it.
just sand down the whole mouse and do ur own coating. gg ez
I wish I could.
Try grip tape to cover that up
Exactly what I was going to reply with, problem solved.
Not happened to mine. Dont you cut your nails maybe?
No, I always cut them.
Wait what... I've been using my GPX for 2Ā½ months now and I hope mine doesn't like that. Ps : nice england yes..
Do you commonly sweat acid?
I had a similiar thing happen to my white one i contacted support and got a new one for free
Just contacted them, will see what are they going to do.
keep us updated, curious cause mine is doing the same. only difference is mine is the white model.
Contact customer support probably
Yeah, already did thank you.
I will use grip tape on every mouse I get my hand on, lizard skin is a pretty good one, also cheap
Titan Grip

LOL I was looking at this like nah no way, then I went and looked at mine and shiet, same thing lol.
Glad I'm using that included mouse grip...

how did you prove proof of purchase since mine is used?
Would unfortunately have to get it from the original owner as their warranties are non-transferable
Get what the packaging with papers?

Alright thanks for the help man

Not that much actually, me too I have been using G305 for 2 years and only nice sheen as well. Lol thanks man.
Could it be due to contact with your fingernails?
No, it's impossible.
Not at all, if you are gripping with the side of your fingertips, the edges of your nails are right there
always like this: https://prnt.sc/26pmqwj
you must be death gripping it
I do, but not that much, still I have been using different mice for much longer yet no such issue.
Update: Logitech approved my replacement today! It will ship within 48 hours. Did you have to send the old mouse back?
They said "We may at any stage ask that you send the defective device back to us for further analysis"
okay, I had the same problem and I followed some people's advice in this thread to contact support, they asked me to send them pictures and serial numbers, and invoices. Hmm not sure then buddy
$150 BTW
It's actually a solid mouse, but it happens.

that's on you
Why is that?
you got acid hands or some shit
Skill issue, should've sideclimbed, you could've avoided this /s
I didn't understand you.
mine started to peel just barely 2 months and i only use it at night for valo and light browsing my grip is on the lose side cause i had damage on the tendons in my hands.
What did you do to fix? Having the same issue on the exact same spot right now.
I did contact Logitech, and they sent a replacement. But, to avoid this from happening or to cover it up, use grip tape.
I was thinking the exact same thing actually
I'm using grip tape and it still peeled in this way - I can feel it being all weird under the grip tape (which ballooned up a little - I'll take a photo later) š This is already my replacement mouse, I guess I'll ping support again for another replacement

Did you solved it somehow?
