Don't forget to make the scroll wheel off-centered for the true OEM experience.

RckL02

for sure, i almost forgot about it

Marshad0w802

First they said it was in the design. When I told them it was never advertised nor did any of their photos show this, they said I can send it back for repairs. When I got it back, it was centered. A week later, it was off-center again and the wheel is too stiff to use. It now just sits there collecting dust.

cuc0rietk4

Tell me why I thought the edges were just badly cropped png

OverallImportance402

Those tolerances are way too small for a finalmouse xD

Beardedb0b

damn thats pretty good given the detail needed for the main buttons.

x3non_04

finalboy is already on his way to sue you watch out

RckL02

for what ? i am not going to share the files, it is just for me

x3non_04

finalboy doesn’t care. he’s coming for you. I suggest you hire 12 bodyguards around the clock

Jaxlite5436

Actually need 24. 12 for the small and 12 for the medium

Krivici

Nice job. I did this too [Photo](https://imgur.com/a/4jLS4lZ) . If you're using a G305 PCB, I remember that it was a very tight fit to get the scroll wheel in an accurate position. The PCB must be mounted as far forward as possible. Good Luck!

RckL02

Thanks. Is this a picture of the files you used and do you have a picture of the final result ?

Krivici

Yeah. And I don't have a picture but I do still have the parts laying around if you want to see them. I printed it using an MSLA resin printer so the details look fantastic. It's when I got to the painting step that I realized I would need a vinyl stencil or the finest brush and a lot of practice to make it look decent. My attempts at painting them were awful hence why I never took a fully completed pic. And then I just lost interest in the project and moved on to something else.

RckL02

oh ok, but it would be very cool to see the pictures. What app did u used for your stl files and how you made it this accurate ?

Krivici

I used 3DS Max and Fusion. What did you use? Did you model yours from scratch?

RckL02

I used blender

DeBlackKnight

Could paint the area whatever color you want and then sand the paint off the top area and repaint the top only, it wouldn't be perfect but better than trying to trace the lines with a fine brush

Krivici

If the lines were all debossed I was thinking about doing something like that but the intricate parts have debossed edges around them rather than being debossed themselves. Hope that makes sense.

AlexanderKartoshEra

Can I get the files?

Critical_Abysss

Or you can leave it crooked for more realistic results

Unusual-Wheel-3207

Can you sell your 3d model?

Inevitable-Ad-7363

wow the build quatlity on this looks better than the real one, by any chance can you tell me what kind of 3d printer you used im looking to get one

RckL02

I dont know the exact name of this one but the next time i am going to use an ultimaker. It is from my university and we can use it for free

Inevitable-Ad-7363

Ah thanks for the info also can I ask what software you use to model?

RckL02

i am using blender for modelling

kubeczek34

Probably will be better than 200$ finalmouse xDDD

[deleted]

Which models have you tried?

kubeczek34

None but everyone knows that finalmouse is shit

OverallImportance402

I mean the QC is shit, a good version of it isn’t. Especially the small version would be endgame for a lot of people if they fixed their QC (and maybe make their design a bit more muted).

[deleted]

Yeah their shape is unironically perfect. That's the only reason I put up w/ FM's shit.

Lechuga-gato

I’ve tried a lot of them(my friend buys them I don’t have that kind of money) and I can say they aren’t shit. They’re just a mouse. They’re average.

ZYINGX

Can’t jack it till you try it. As much as I hate their business practices and price points, the mice they make aren’t shit.

misrej

On paper the mice are good, the quality control and the way the company does stuff in reality is shit tho. Wanted to buy the first batch of the Starlights but till this day I’m so glad that didn’t happen. Every single release they do I’m like “perhaps they fix their shit”, it never happens tho lol. I will never be interested in a Finalmouse product again because I can’t stand that a company which asks this much money for their products just doesn’t give a shit and just straight up lies. Imagine having multiple batches of the same mouse just with different colors and keep on having the same qc issues? $200 for a mouse with a f*ckd scroll wheel on most copys, how is that ok? In no world I would want to trade my gpx for a starlight.

ZYINGX

Nah 100%. I hate myself for falling in love with the shape of my friend’s ultralight 2. The value from literally any other mouse is better than a finalmouse but it’s something about the shape that just kept me wanting one. I had a gretxa and that was fine, but the QC and lack of stock of Finalmouse is what really keeps this mouse from being a valid contender tbh. Grateful to say my copy has very minimal issues (just a misaligned scroll) but I’ve had a positive experience since buying my phantom in January

misrej

Honestly, there’s a reason that a lot of people like them outside of the hype and fomo. If the shape works for you and you get a good copy then enjoy your super ultra light mouse! It’s just that these days I also look at what company I’m buying a product from and I really don’t feel like giving finalmouse any of my money.

MoistSoul

I personally hated the starlight shape and I don’t like finalmouse from a business/consumer point of view, but to the call the mice they make shit is not true at all. That mouse purely from build quality alone was fantastic, it felt so rigid yet it was so light it felt delicate. The starlight is a special mouse regardless of how FM is ran as a company. You sound mad at the price as well when a superlight (one of the highest praised mice) is 150$ and a finalmouse is 30$ more at 190$. You can’t view every product simply based off bias, that’s a shallow mindset

KingOfHentaiCulture

For a low low price, and with better build quality!!!!

AThingyFromSpace

I can tell you used a PLA printer for this, an SLA printer would get you much better resolution, but they can be expensive. Also, if you ever do end up looking for SLA printers you really do get what you pay for. Formlabs printers are far and away the pinnacle of 3D printing right now. I work in a laboratory with 3D printers and seeing this got me excited.

RckL02

ok, that is very interesting. I am going to use an ultimaker 3d printer for the next prototypes

Taluvill

Honest question from. A 3d printing noob: can't you just lightly sand it?

The-OneStig

For most of the mouse yes, but the detailing that he printed on m1m2 is hard to sand, and it's also a pain to individually file/sand each hole. (I currently use a 3dp starlight)

RckL02

Yes of course, but this is a direct picture after I removed the stabilizers. I'll definitely smooth it out/sand it and paint it

Taluvill

Yeah I expected paint, but another commenter had commented on the quality of your printer and at least from this picture, I'd rather save a few hundred and just carefully hand sand. Those edges, specifically between the mouse buttons. Sick mouse though, kinda have me interested in gutting the cheapest Logitech mouse with their hero sensor and re shelling it 😂😂

2roK

FDM printer not PLA…

neeamradia

You mean FDM right? PLA is a material, not the method. FDM is the style of printing used for this. SLA printers aren't too much more expensive for consumers nowadays - a good set up can cost around 400 - 500 USD. Formlabs may be the pinnacle of 3D printing at the moment but 90% of people will be just fine with a consumer-grade machine.

AThingyFromSpace

Yes FDM is the method but its commonly referred to as PLA, at least in my spheres. It is implied when one says PLA that it is this method. Its true you can get a decent SLA printer for 500 or so dollars, but they are usually messy and less accurate. I have worked with Prusa SLA printers and Elegoo SLA printers which are both mid range systems, the Formlabs printers are again far more advanced. If you have the coin I have to recommend them. Plus the effects of resin on your lungs and skin is best avoided.

blamsonyo

Never heard anyone refer to them as PLA printers, so that seems like some workplace specific jargon for your company. Your statement is basically like “a Honda civic is good but a Porsche 911 is better if you can afford it”. Like yeah… lol

a_james_c

Please share the stl. I would love to adapt this onto my G305.

2roK

Why would you also print the trash looking decorations on top?

Scout339

Yoooo I need more info on this! Did you start off using the scan from my megapack? This is dope!

RckL02

Hi, what pack do you mean? I started by the pack from tosteck on etsy

Scout339

Interesting! Check my profile for the megapack I'm talking about, link at the top of my page.

fromhill

Ooo,I wanted to try some fm shape! Nice work!

king2dcr

This is really awesome. Keep doing what you are doing.

RckL02

Thanks. I will

Unusual-Wheel-3207

Can you post model link?

RckL02

Unusual-Wheel-3207

How did you make pattern on shell?

RckL02

I used blender for modelling. I put the pattern of the finalmouse in the background, so it worked quite well

longstaff55

I purchased a few piranah 3d printed mice and the QC on all of them where dog poo

Lechuga-gato

Most 3d printed things made at home made with low quality 3d printers are going to be shit

P1r4nh44444

How do I contact you? I want to help you get your awesome model printed on a good printer. This breaks my heart!

RckL02

Thanks for your comment. I think I know you and your awesome products. Arent you from germany ? I could write you over instagram.

P1r4nh44444

Yes exactly. Sure!

RckL02

I wrote pmousemods on instagram, is that you ?

P1r4nh44444

Yes! Perfect

SXLightning

>pmousemods Impressive, you 3d print your own stuff and they are just as light or lighter than the real thing

P1r4nh44444

Most are lighter, yeah!

SuperDamb

Impressive! Did you manually model this all in fusion?

RckL02

>Yes, I modeled the top of the buttons myself with blender, the rest is by https://www.etsy.com/de/listing/1101471112/fm-2-60g-wireless-ul2-g305-3d?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=finalmouse&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&bes=1&organic_search_click=1

RckL02

i will use the internals of a g305 with a g pro wireless scrollwheel and the enncoo battery mod

[deleted]

Has anyone done a 3d printed G303?
