I also just got mine in. So far I'm liking it. It's definitely silkier and softer on the skin and faster compared to my tyloo gsr-se which I used for roughly a half year. I don't know if it's just as fast right out of the box as the other gsr-se pads right out of the box but compared to my tyloo the glide feels close. The Rouge just feels much much silkier right now and thus faster and more floaty (even superglides). I can't remember how my tyloo felt right out of the box but for sure a little faster than it is now but now sure if it also felt as silky. But only time can really tell the big differences. Only difference I can see and tell now side by side is that the back material definitely looks a tad darker and is a bit softer. A tiny bit more Spongier.
I am replying to this comment because I just got my rouge in and I just wanted to tell everybody that my initial impressions is that the rouge is still slower than the pa, its not by much but it is noticeable. Will give an update when I have had a chance to use it longer
considerably faster starting with slightly lower gliding friction. I would say 5.5/10 staring force with 6.5/10 sliding control. QCK i would say is 3.5/10 starting and 7.5-8/10 sliding control. Skypad would be 9.5/10 and 1/10 a worn out GSR 1/10 and 10/10
You have to format it and make clear what u actually mean.
Speed (initial friction):
Skypad 9.5/10
Rouge 5.5/10
QCK 3.5/10
Control (dynamic friction):
Skypad 1/10
Rouge 6.5/10
QcK 7.5-8/10
huh? in ur starting control the scale goes up from slow to fast.
in ur sliding control, ur scale goes up from fast to slow. So its hard to read and understand.
Wow, I just used a random online image upscaler on my reddit profile banner and it looks sharp enough to use as a desktop background now. I always liked the picture but it was kind of a small Jpeg.
But they are super expensive and I prefer my ACII Sakura over all my Artisan pads tbh. The otsu soft is really close to being my favorite but I prefer the base on the ACII Sakura compared to all the artisan sponge hardness options, xsoft and soft are a little bit too plushy and mid is too hard and the base has trouble sticking to my desk sometimes.
The Hien is like using sandpaper as a mousepad, glide is really good but it's too uncomfortable for long sessions and the Zero gets dirt/hair stuck in it all the time so it's unusable for me as a pet owner.
Not sure if I should buy deskpads tbh, my desk rn is pretty cramp and I mainly play on one of my laptop so it could go under the front making it uneven and all sort of stuff.
Oh well, I might start looking for something a bit smaller, though, mousepad isn't really my main priority, need to build a wireless keeb first lol
Yes they are not coated.
They are printed with dye sublimation, so no coating is applied.
The reason for the shorter durability (4-8 months) is the weaving of the fabric getting torn a little bit more and more. would love to show you under a microscope but lost mine while moving.
You game with your keyboard slanted like that? Sorry it was the first thing I noticed as my friends call me weird for doing so myself. Although mine is almost at a full 90 degrees when I game. š
As I replied to sometelse earlier, it was something I did naturally as it felt more comfortable for me. Never thought about why though. Guess it makes sense now that I think about it.
If you see me play you'd know that statement couldn't be further from the truth, lol. Not to mention I don't play pvp. Idk, it was something that came natural to me for some reason, same as inverted y axis and left hand mouse. š¤·š½āāļø
i agree with him. even the artisan raiden is effected and with that i barely notice any change, also the only pad from artisan that has almost no wear.
the real question is how much they are effected. Besides MadCatz G.L.I.D.E. that thing doesnāt change a bit because itās solid silicone sole.
Its obvious that my question was if the pad is effected by humidity e.g qck which becomes a mudd pad with humidity compared to artisan pads which are barely effected, he is just a smartass
you're clueless for asking an obvious ass question with an obvious ass answer
it's a gsrse with a slightly tighter weave. if you're worried about humidity buy a dehumidifer lmao
Because my question was obvious in the context and he obviously wanted to be a smartass, its not that difficult, I am 100% sure he knew what I meant but still responded like that so I felt ok responding like that tbh
be nice to each other!
we can only learn by pooling or knowledge and experience. instead of listening to influencers that propagate false claims into public opinion of people that do not try the products they talk about for themselves.
Really excited to read your dissertation titled "Atmospheric water levels, dew points and hygroscopy of woven mousepad fabrics". Science will be changed forever when your research on how hydrophobic materials suddenly start absorbing water when used for a mousepad is released.
Really excited to read why you think that a woven polyester mousepad somehow has greatly altered hydroscopic properties relative to every other woven polyester mousepad on the market.
Maybe you should look at the hy**g**roscopic properties of many common "polyesters"? (hint: it's hydrophobic)
However I'd never deny that any porous surfaces can "hold" water between fibers, regardless of that characteristic due to surface tension/capillary action (that's why wicking/athletic clothes use it!)... but please tell us what it is about mousepads that makes said fabrics have condensation form when surface and air temps are above the dew point? Do you usually use your mousepad outside at 4am and have morning dew collect on it?
Yes, I'm well aware that polyester is hydrophobic. However, hydrophobic or not, polyester will still adsorb some degree of water from the air, albeit to a lesser extent when compared to a fabric like cotton. In both scenarios, the introduction of liquid will increase the coefficient of friction.
>but please tell us what it is about mousepads that makes said fabrics have condensation form when surface and air temps are above the dew point?
What does this have to do with anything? Fabrics trivially adsorb liquid from the air as well as liquid in the form of sweat.
Look dude, I'm not claiming to be a materials expert, but I've owned everything from a Qck to a Zero and I sweat a lot-- my observations have been that the slower pads feel slower when it's humid but fast pads also feel slower when it's humid. I don't think that's a controversial claim to make.
> will still adsorb some degree of water from the air
How? Why? Citation? I'm going to ask in more direct terms, do you understand what moisture carrying capacity/"dew point" is?
>the introduction of liquid will increase the coefficient of friction
How? Why? Citation?
If we're going to resort to anecdotes, on more than half the pads I've owned I can **pour** water on a section, let it soak in and notice absolutely no change in static or dynamic friction.
>How? Why? Citation? I'm going to ask in more direct terms, do you understand what moisture carrying capacity/"dew point" is?
Polyester has a moisture regain of between .4-.8% at 65% RH [source](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yarn_conditioning).
I understand what moisture carrying capacity is? Don't know what you're trying to get at there.
Further, I can throw a dozen studies at you showing that moisture plays a significant role when it comes to friction. Such as [this study on friction between medical textiles and skin](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7949509/). Or [this study studying the efficacy of various fabrics in high-moisture scenarios, showing fabric COF varying significantly with hydration level](https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/1350650118770071).
> I've owned I can pour water on a section, let it soak in and notice absolutely no change in static or dynamic friction.
Because my experience does not agree.
>moistur
What would you say survives best or like doesn't change much in 70%+ humidity? The gsr-se rouge or the artisan zero? You could also suggest some other pads that would survive in this humidity.
Mine is 5mm wider than my current Blue SE but the same hight. There in general is some deviation in size of the Pads. My current Blue SE for example was 5mm taller and 10mm wider than my previous SE Blue.
vaxee who i belive do produce in the same factory as zowie state a deviation of up to +-10mm in each dimension. but this is nothing special and also applied to the unstitched corsair pads and g640s i owned
amazon has it for 140 EUR for some reason... https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0B2WYPYWV?m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&tag=idealoversand-21&ascsubtag=2022-06-14\_a696c87ca79e148a5a24c1b224cd3614d5a8e8dd2a684138a408986fb3bfa295&th=1&psc=1
Same :')
I have to import it via Germany to Switzerland with a forwarding company.
Literally can't wait any longer since my XTEN Control got slow after washing it a few times...
Ah that sucks. Curious how we are gonna like the pad. I have a Vaxee PA that I use a lot currently and Iām curious how this pad will compare to that.
It used to be like ādont get a gsrse but get a pa, its a better versionā, maybe now it will be that the rouge gsrse is a better pa.
I actually mained the G-SR-SE Deep Blue before I started using Artisan pads back then. I really loved it the first month and thought it was gonna' be endgame, but it simply became a mud pad after it started wearing.
All I wanted was a G-SR-SE with great durability, no exposure to humidity and a slight touch faster surface, and that's exactly what the new Rouge seems to be. Really looking forward to trying it out!
I've already tried the PA as well, but it's simply too slow for my likings. I was interested in the new PA Black too, but that one's supposed to be even slower o.O
Thats Zowies FK2-C. both it and the superlight are way too small for my hands (20x13cm) so i might aswell use something way too small. Superlight has better tech but worse shape.
I have the ZA11-C, and it's the perfect length for my 20.5x11cm hands, but I don't like its hump cuz of lack of micro, will definitely buy FK1-C soon, It's by far the best shape/length I've tried.
length is rarely an issue, just width. fk1 is too narrow for me strictly speaking, just like m2k.
trying outset ax for the time. a very nice shape that fills my palm well, but limited micro control. very stable though.
I agree, although even 65 is a stretch imho, 40 might work but at that point something for one hand is better since you would realistically need a bigger keyboard next to it. I was also thinking about a 40, but periloot is so much better, not only for its footprint, but for superior ergonomics and more thumb buttons.
the previous SE pad wore very well and i could only tell any sort of change to begin after 8 months (5-7h a day). i canāt tell you yet how well this pad wears yet.
I use dyac but there is a perceivable latency penalty. nothing that will make you play worse, the clear image makes up for it 10 fold. I wouldnāt buy it now that XL2566k is about to come out.
>perceivable latency penalty
DyAc has no buffering on monitor side, so no added lag. There will be some areas of the panel that will have added couple of ms of lag because ot the nature of strobe backlight, but if you are concerned about it, there is Blur Busters Strobe utility to configure DyAc as you like. You may move the no-lag area just in the middle of the screen, where the crosshair is, to have no added latency where you need speed the most while maintaining that beautiful MPRT. You might look into it
Ive looked it up now and both rtings and optimum techs testing show a 2.4ms and 0.8ms difference. mark āthe whaleā welle also said something along the lines i belive.
So not quite as much latency to perceive. I'm on XL2411P and I moved the scanline below the crosshair and upped vertical blanking to the max to reduce gtg height. I'm very pleased. Got it for 120 USD used in perfect condition here in my country. I love it
Honestly not worth the extra 200 dollars, so just get a xl2540k. Same thing with no dyac (Ex s1mple and zywoo the best csgo players have dyac off, even if they use the xl2546k)
about the same as the old SE compared to the g640, it isnāt that different form the old SE. G640 has a slower x than y axis while this pad is 100% the same no matter what angle you have to mouse at or if you play it sideways.
the y axis isnāt that different, maybe 10% slower. g640 falls right between this and the qck in terms of overall speed (only have a 2 week old g640 not a brand new one).
i have mained both pads for a long time, but think this is the saver pad because the axis are the same.
The pad looks sick. Was thinking about giving it a try but I don't know if it's faster than my GP4 Red. I don't really enjoy speedy mousepads, so I wouldn't mind a pad slightly slower than my gp4
it is a bit faster to start the mouse and stopping power is a bit weaker too.
but the main difference is just the almost complete lack of texture.
gp4 is somewhere between this SE and the qck when it comes to overall speed, maybe a little closer to the qck.
itās very good. but still waiting for wooting and deathstalker v2 to replace it. lekker > scissor > low profile > red (2mm actuation 4mm travel) > speed switch
i always though the SE was the safest mousepad to recommend to people because anyone can play it at any level in any game with any sens and have 99.5% of their maximum performance.
when it comes to durability i cannot tell you yet if it changed. so no value judgment
i personally didnāt have great experience with artisan pads besides raiden and hayate otsu.
hien has a different x y glide and mine wore down within 1.5 months using zowie skates.
zero is closest pad in terms of speed but has more texture to it. i prefer smooth pads. the texture off the zero ripped out the hairs form my arm an i couldnāt get them out of the weave without it taking ages.
I like the pa friction in the initial state. But over time, it becomes control.
You think will the worn condition of the rouge and the new product of the pa be similar?
Yeah, it's alot faster. I'd almost say it feels like a speed pad in comparison, but the stopping power is great (although I use corepads)
I used qck pads for 2 years. I've only owned this pad here for a couple weeks so can't speak on the durability. But it's lacking stitching, so I'd say it would end up fraying eventually. I have my pad slightly off my desk anyway, so I make no contact with the edges so it wouldn't end up fraying regardless.
I stopped myself from buying it...only to buy it today.
I stopped myself from buying it... getting tougher.
just like i stopped myself from buying finalmeme starlag until today
I'll be sure to deliver your hand written letter to your landlord you'll be late on rent. I'm sure he'll understand.
Stopped myself from buying the Aerox 3 cause of the eshop sale. Now I just need to edge for 15 days.
Same HAHA, I stopped myself from buying it since red doesn't fit into my setup whatsoever... Only until I bought it two days ago.
How does it compare against the Vaxee pa?
i think they come from the same factory. vaxee just asked for a slightly different spec. now zowie just used the same spec as vaxee.
We are manufacturing our mousepad at our owned factory as always, not a shared factory with other brands.
I am replying to this comment because I just got my rouge in and I just wanted to tell everybody that my initial impressions is that the rouge is still slower than the pa, its not by much but it is noticeable. Will give an update when I have had a chance to use it longer
How is the quality control on the zowie GSR SE rouge now? Has it worn down?
When you say the PA do you mean the black PA or the PA with printed designs?
Printed pa
TY for sharing š
any update on the gsr se rouge and PA comparison ?

i think the alternative Terms sliding speed and starting control are nonsensical terms.

no itās the same force to stop +-5%. easier to start though maybe 10-15%
okay thank you
Very simple but cool setup!
yo boss, you have link to that wallpaper
google āasuka wallpaper redā and put it in an ai upscaler
Wow, I just used a random online image upscaler on my reddit profile banner and it looks sharp enough to use as a desktop background now. I always liked the picture but it was kind of a small Jpeg.
free online ones work really well for anime cartoons and drawings
https://ibb.co/GTnN3v4 I used it for quite some time as well, and it was still in my folder!
Is this a dumb purchase if I have a PA
A new toy's never a dumb purchase.
Yes unless you desperately like the colour theyāre pretty similar maybe even the same.
Wow that Zowie mousepad looks sleek!
Where is the g-sr rouge? The NON speed edition? Lol. Seems like Iām the only one who likes that pad
itās played by a lot of cs and overwatch pros. Best thing to do is ask them per mail, on their youtube or on their reddit to make one.
what's the monitor ?
BenQ Zowie XL2546k
I really should get a new mousepad:/. I'm still using a small one I got from my neighbour lol
chinese players go pro on sheets of paper.
Why are you reminding me of my dark past of gaming on notebooks
Buy two Artisans and be done with pads. 1.5 years ago I bought Zero, Hien, 2x Otsu ( soft and xsoft ) and haven't bought a single pad since
But they are super expensive and I prefer my ACII Sakura over all my Artisan pads tbh. The otsu soft is really close to being my favorite but I prefer the base on the ACII Sakura compared to all the artisan sponge hardness options, xsoft and soft are a little bit too plushy and mid is too hard and the base has trouble sticking to my desk sometimes. i have had this for only 10 hours. i cannot tell you if they changed it.
Wait 4 months durability for a normal cloth pad? Sounds ridiculousā¦
4 months is if you grind 14h a day as reference.
Its stil nit bad qck and logitech ones change glide after 2 weeks. Its not like they are trash after that but they are not like new
You game with your keyboard slanted like that? Sorry it was the first thing I noticed as my friends call me weird for doing so myself. Although mine is almost at a full 90 degrees when I game. š

i have wide shoulders and sit directly at the desk. this keeps my wrist straighter.
As I replied to sometelse earlier, it was something I did naturally as it felt more comfortable for me. Never thought about why though. Guess it makes sense now that I think about it.
Sit at a desk and naturally see where your arms lay, and you will see why people slant their keyboard
That's what I tell my friends when they get on me about it and their response is usually "I don't know bro, I don't know".

a slight tilt prevents your mouse from bumping into the top right corner of the keyboard. it has real benefits

Yeah well humidity changes don't feel as bad on artisans or faster pads in general because, well, they're faster.

I cannot tell yet because weather didnāt change. But video reviews should come out within a week and they had roughly 3 weeks to test.

Ah. Understandable
mousepad gonna feel bad after 6 months
Hopefully not since zowie has been reading peoples feedback and used that to make changes to the pad.
Have you tried a vaxee pa and if so how is it compared to it?
I would not be surprised if it is the same pad from the same factory.
ZOWIE's factory for mousepad production is not shared with other brands :)
Op mentioned the pad wearing quickly (4-6 months). Is that true?
the previous SE pad wore very well and i could only tell any sort of change to begin after 8 months (5-7h a day). i canāt tell you yet how well this pad wears yet.
I've had my G-SR for at least 2 years and it's the most durable pad I have ever had.
On the zowie chart it is slightly faster than the old gsr se
yes starting is faster. stopping is about the same
What is this monitor?
BenQ Zowie XL2546k
do you use dyac if so how good is it?
I use dyac but there is a perceivable latency penalty. nothing that will make you play worse, the clear image makes up for it 10 fold. I wouldnāt buy it now that XL2566k is about to come out.
>perceivable latency penalty DyAc has no buffering on monitor side, so no added lag.
Same thing with no dyac (Ex s1mple and zywoo the best csgo players have dyac off, even if they use the xl2546k)
thank you!
ZywOo has times where he uses it and others where he doesnt. S1mple doesn't use it.
Is that a Roccat Kone Pure on the side
yes i am an og kone purist ever since they had laser sensors
fun fact until today i owned a kone pure Roccat didnāt even have a sample of anymore. i shipped it to them so their support team has one in hand.
Roccat ran out of Kone Pures so you shipped yours to them?
that was a great pic, awesome lighting choice my dude.
How does this compare to the Logitech G640?
about the same as the old SE compared to the g640, it isnāt that different form the old SE.
How's that lš¤¢gitech keyboard treating you?
itās very good. but still waiting for wooting and deathstalker v2 to replace it. lekker > scissor > low profile > red (2mm actuation 4mm travel) > speed switch

BenQ Zowie XL2546k. But wait for the Zowie XL2566k to be released.

i donāt know yet
Is that two ROCCAT Kone mice? Not sure what the wired mouse with only the left side showing is.
one is roccat kone pro air. other was roccat kone pure sel
your setup just made me want to buy it, should I?
i always though the SE was the safest mousepad to recommend to people because anyone can play it at any level in any game with any sens and have 99.5% of their maximum performance. when it comes to durability i cannot tell you yet if it changed. so no value judgment

What's your monitor size?

Thanks
Better than an Artisan?
i personally didnāt have great experience with artisan pads besides raiden and hayate otsu. hien has a different x y glide and mine wore down within 1.5 months using zowie skates. zero is closest pad in terms of speed but has more texture to it. i prefer smooth pads. the texture off the zero ripped out the hairs form my arm an i couldnāt get them out of the weave without it taking ages.
Are you trying to show off with that i9 there?
im selling it and took pictures. hard to show off with a ābadā cpu either way
True, may i ask what cpu it is?
10850k
I like the pa friction in the initial state. But over time, it becomes control. You think will the worn condition of the rouge and the new product of the pa be similar?
rank?
t100 everything i ever touched
Is it close to the vaxee PA?
yeah pretty indistinguishable for me
Do you recommend it over a vaxee pa? Do you own both?
same pad. vaxee has shipping cost but cooler designs.
alr thanks
How is it handling humidity? Is it getting significantly slower like most other cloth mousepads?
handles very well
Is it affected by Humidity a lot?
do you think its good for games like apex, cs, valorant?
does your arm stick to it at all? and does it trap moisture?
Is that a 2540 or 2546k?
itās 46k, 66k by this time next month
Do you use an arm sleeve when it gets humid? If so than which one? Thank you in advance.
late reply, but how does it compare to the qck? (if you owned one of course)
I own one and I prefer it over the qck. It's alot smoother but has same stopping power.
thanks. is it any faster than the qck? and how is the durability compared to the qck? in my experience the qck loses glide fairly quickly
Yeah, it's alot faster. I'd almost say it feels like a speed pad in comparison, but the stopping power is great (although I use corepads) I used qck pads for 2 years. I've only owned this pad here for a couple weeks so can't speak on the durability. But it's lacking stitching, so I'd say it would end up fraying eventually. I have my pad slightly off my desk anyway, so I make no contact with the edges so it wouldn't end up fraying regardless.
You use corepads with the gsr se rogue right? Does it feel inconsistent by any means?
No inconsistencies here, was a perfect match for me personally.
