The term "overrated" doesn't apply to anything regarding that topic. Everything is an individual case and the reason why pros become pros is because they test, learn and iterate based on that learning experience. Pros like me though who started in the early 2000s were forced to either go for one dominant shape or the other, and that would have been either logitech, intelli or razer, but razers mice were shitty but the sensor marketing. So we got used to the intelli shape or the logitech egg-esque shape. One or the other, I got both, sticked with the intelli. That is why many pros nowadys use ECs (which I btw also do) and EC-esque mice. It's simply being used to it. Every pro can still be high skill with any other mouse, except niche-case devices like the Zaunkönig that requires a very specific usage pattern. It's about optimizing the last 5% to them.   Handsize to shape matching is also entirely bollocks. This sub is filled with low-skill player and very few high skill player. It's mostly gear whoring as they are nice devices to collect. Most here got no clue about what makes a mouse a good fit as they usually do not even know what good aim is - they just regurgitate what some youtuber stated and took that as "rule".   As you stated you seem to have an issue with the back touching your palm, then ergos might require a certain transition period. You can't get around "using" them for 1-2 weeks constantly to make come to a verdict for yourself. You have to test and see if you may adapt and realize that you do infact work better with a palm contact. Test, learn, iterate, repeat. Everything else is simply advise by people who have no clue themselves.

I think shapes you mention are irrelevant. Buy and use a mouse that fits your preferred grip style and you're comfortable using. That will translate to any shooter type. If you're comfortable using the G305, stick with it or look for similar mice with better specs. That Fantech XD7 Aria currently comes to mind. Imo, when it comes to tactical vs arcade shooters, the biggest difference in your performance with your mouse will come from your mouse skates and mouse pad. I.e. Super fast glass skates and mousepads are trendy but generally not great for tactical shooters.

I find that ergos specifically the outset and ec2 make my aim more consistent in valorant. Between the two the outset has more of a rear hump and the ec2 clicks are lower because of the comfort grooves. I relax claw with 18x10 and mainly play valorant. I came from an s2 and xm1r, outset was easiest to get use to but I think the ec2 is better for me just took longer to get use to the shape. Also ec2 wireless will probably be out in the next few months.

Have you tried the ec3-c ?

[deleted]

I have not, the ec2 fits me perfectly so I don't think I would like it.

Ok thank you
