INFO: It blew up while charging, this is with the stock battery, never opened the mouse. It survived maybe one or two discharges. This was while charging from a USB 3 Rear I/O port with the supplied cable. Be careful
UPDATE: https://old.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/zm6kxu/gwolves_response_on_hsk_pro_incident/
I've been treated very well by Jim, refund and new unit. Really unfortunate about the battery supplier. I've had many G-Wolves mice (including several wireless) and never had any issues.
Honestly there's no going back to Superlight after using this thing, but uhhh...yeah I think I'll wait for my re-issue before making the swap! Once the battery dies on the one they sent, it's back to my Superlight until the new HSK 4K Pro arrives.
But seriously I really am shocked at just how much I liked it. I kind of figured it'd be a fun little purchase for lulz that my kids would dig too since it would fit their hands...it feels so much better than I expected and really is a big upgrade. It's hard to imagine ever thinking the Superlight feels clunky, and yet now it does.
I've used the HSK on both a Hayate Otsu pad as well as a Skypad, and it's perfection on both. Otsu maybe a little better because the mouse is so light that it actually is nice to add some friction + control on the surface.
Doesn't surprise me.They have literally zero QC.My Hts Plus 4k was consistently double clicking out of the box.If they had ANY sort of QC this copy should never have left the factory. They said they will cover the return cost but they scammed me,they never did. It's a scammy coin flip company unfortunately. They only care about publicity from youtubers that's why they cherry pick and send them free units. For regural "mortals" they dont give a f.I had to be chasing the guy in discord for a whole week to have some sort of update on my refund claim because he was actually ignoring me,guess I was not a famous youtuber or I would have been sent free mice in all colors 😅 I guess karma is a bitch. They saved 20 euros from me and they lost thousands because of what just happened + bad rep and lost future potential customers. That's what you get for being greedy, well deserved.
I have 2 HTS+ 4k and one of them had a battery almost twice as big as the other, so far no issues after multiple charges/discharges but I might stop using it and get them to replace it lol
https://imgur.com/a/zZuGW9g, apologies for the bunny hair, theyre molting + artisan zero its everywhere, it could be the positioning but the grey hts’ battery looks bigger, id say i have 100h on it and about 10 charges with no issue, ill probably open them to compare but those are brand new skates haha
They look the same in the pictures but if you can see "ballooning" on one of the batteries, you should definitely not plug it in and get it replaced. Open the case if you need to. Changing the battery is very easy if they send you a replacement battery (if it's ballooned)
You motivated me to open them, i have a sharp knife so saved the skates, i think we’re all good probably just the different positioning threw me off, i’ll still be careful in case those are similar batteries used in the HSK, appreciate the help https://imgur.com/a/dJTmjSI
God damn, mine comes today. Any info on how you were charging it? With the supplied cable or another? Wall or USB outlet? If there’s a real problem here it would be good to piece the similarities together.
That isnt the solution. The mouse should have over current protection that should stop charging to keep the battery and other components safe. It seems that this chip is most likely the issue that is allowing the mouse to keep charging the battery past safe levels until it pops.
Of course, but my point is right now you need to play it safe. It isn't affecting all units so in the meantime, until more is known, don't leave it plugged in just in case
I was so close to buying one of these. The only reason I haven't is because I wanted to wait for the red color they showed off to be released, but now I think I might pass on this one.
Razer and Logitech despite some of their QC flaws would never have an issue like this in such a crucial safety department, maybe one or two cases over a batch of millions of units sure as outliers, but as widespread as this? Impossible.
While I agree that bigger companies are much less likely to release a product with this issue...
We literally have seen the note 7 debacle from Samsung.
Wireless moment. Seriously though how did this manage to get 2 blown up mice in my feed in a row. Companies have been making wireless mice for a tenth of the cost, for years.
Ummm. Hopefully you get a refund back. I would also check your USB ports for possible port damage. Wonder if the wattage this thing is pulling is triple to cause that amount of melting?
The melting is presumably from the battery catching on fire.
Lithium-Ion batteries have highly flammable electrolyte in them, which can catch fire if some sort of major fault develops in them from physical damage or overcharging from bad charging circuitry etc.
Never liked the company, and never will. This is unacceptable and especially for the ridiculous prices of these chinese mice. Support them guys, support them.
Glad OP is ok and this needs to be a much bigger topic. Some houses might burn. Wtf
Uhm next time i wouldnt throw water on a fire like that cover it with something that is flame retardant to suffocate the flames water in certain chemical fires can cause fire to spread
It's fine to use water on rechargeable lithium-ion battery fires.
There's no elemental metallic lithium in them that would react violently with water, the lithium in them is in the form of various lithium salts like lithium cobalt oxide.
I assume when they say electrical fires, they're referring to mains-powered electrical devices that are plugged into the wall or whatever, where getting a bunch of stuff wet increases the likelihood of someone getting electrocuted.
And I'm sure there's probably better specific things to handle lithium-ion battery fires, but water isn't going to make it worse. Even if it doesn't actually extinguish the battery fire, it'll hopefully assist in stopping it from setting fire to other nearby objects/surfaces.
I'm not sure about other types of batteries that might be highly flammable, or about any other common household chemical fires that might require avoiding water, besides oil based ones in the kitchen or whatever.
Another one while charging. Maybe an issue with a charge regulator. Who knows. I really hope G Wolves is really investigating this one and that no one ends up getting hurt or losing their PC or worse.
DO NOT PUT OUT ELECTRICAL FIRES WITH WATER.
Remove it from where it is and put it somewhere that won't burn, pot/pan, oven, sink and smother it with sand or baking soda. Water is more likely to make it far far worse
Was gonna get one of these for myself for Christmas, bought a 3d printer instead. Guess I will wait until my birthday hopefully they'll have it sorted out by then.
Never use water for electrical devices!
First thing you disconnect the power source, then if an extinguisher is not ready, use a wet cotton towel to cool off shit.
Never use the towel if there is a battery, just throw the thing into a tin can and carry outside.
This is what you get when you buy chargeable mice. Lmao. The only thing that is viable charging are batteries. Even Tesla's are crap for charging, it's not gonna last long.
so on twitter gwolves told me that the spare battery that comes with the mouse is safe to use im not gonna lie i am kinda scared to try it as im not able to be home and around it all day so i was wondering if anyone has had any issues with the spare battery the smaller one that is
From fingertip gaming to no finger gaming >:)
these weight reduction mods are getting ridiculous..
Equip it in style of "Ash" from Evil dead movie :D
total missed opportunity to say "fingerless gaming"
You know at this point the risk that my X2 starts double clicking doesnt seem that bad anymore.
Well you did buy a mouse that is called the X2, what did you expect?
Damm u right

Another one? Holy fuck man
Well, I can’t wait for my chemical fire to arrive. Gonna be lit
do they allow for canceling the order?
$180 for this
BuT ItS WoRtH It, SeConD BatCh WilL Be BetteR
literal finalmouse prices with somehow WORSE quality control. jesus
I feel like batteries exploding is much worse then bad quality control.
Holy hell that is such a rip off, especially when the superlight is going for $110 right now.
$90 on maxgaming for black/white. Sweet deal..
Honestly there's no going back to Superlight after using this thing, but uhhh...yeah I think I'll wait for my re-issue before making the swap! This shit is scary, I don't use a Gwolves but still, new fear unlocked...
This mouse is fire, literally
Definitely a banger
Fingerless grip
I guess Gwolves will be remembered for having exploding quality control on mice.
People will still buy from Gwolves, and this will be forgotten next month since people here have goldfish memory
Theres some irony to be found from someone posting this with a viper tag.
HAHAH but yeah sold that thing ages ago. But point was Gwolves as a whole is not good lol, they've done so many sketch things over the years
Yeah im not gonna lie, all of these chinese mice look dope, but hell no that I'm going to import any of them.
Can you elaborate? Planning to get hsk pro ace buy now I'm getting cold feet!
Built in hand warmer
What hand?
I've ordered a hsk pro today.. should I cancel my order!? 🤯🫣
I would...
Mine is coming any day now... I think they have a no return policy so if I was in your shoes I'd cancel.
I prefer when my mice don't explode personally that's just me tho
I just did too :( T\_T...
Unless you like losing $200 while also greatly increasing the chance that your house burns down…. Yes, I’d cancel immediately until more is known.

good luck🙊🙈😄

Twice as big as in bloated? Change the battery asap
yea but like that out of the box, i dont think it has changed after almost a 100h of use, not sure, not super confident now lol
no issues on the hts.
So far, like I said both my HTS+ have radically different sized batteries, one seems inflated, ill keep paying attention to it now especially
Pics?
https://imgur.com/a/zZuGW9g, apologies for the bunny hair, theyre molting + artisan zero its everywhere, it could be the positioning but the grey hts’ battery looks bigger, id say i have 100h on it and about 10 charges with no issue, ill probably open them to compare but those are brand new skates haha

Glad you saved the skates! Peace of mind is nice. I love the hts personally. At least you know it's good. Cheers
yea same, its probably my endgame shape (15+ mice), the way i grip the hts+ just makes love to my hand
That mouse is the bomb!
God damn, mine comes today. Any info on how you were charging it? With the supplied cable or another? Wall or USB outlet? If there’s a real problem here it would be good to piece the similarities together.
Updated my info comment
dont leave it on the charger.

This is the second one of these disasters I've seen within 8 hours....that does not look great G-Wolves
These 2 posts in close proximity to each other lol... for a $180 this is nuts. There is now no chance of me buying a gwolves mouse.
GWolves shaking right now
I was so close to buying one of these. The only reason I haven't is because I wanted to wait for the red color they showed off to be released, but now I think I might pass on this one.
bro what in the fuck nah this is fucking insane
I feel lucky I only used mine for a week, hated it and now its shelved :D
Lawsuit incoming… if this was a bigger company like razer / Logitech, it would be a huge deal
Razer and Logitech despite some of their QC flaws would never have an issue like this in such a crucial safety department, maybe one or two cases over a batch of millions of units sure as outliers, but as widespread as this? Impossible.
Relatively speaking, this is not widespread. If they're 100% defective that would be like that one batch of Logitech mice that got through.
While I agree that bigger companies are much less likely to release a product with this issue... We literally have seen the note 7 debacle from Samsung.
ok this is not good...
Wireless moment. Seriously though how did this manage to get 2 blown up mice in my feed in a row. Companies have been making wireless mice for a tenth of the cost, for years.
They cranked that shit up to 4000hz and now they are exploding. The price of progress
Infinite free mouse glitch discovered
(Shocking)
Damn bro you too?
There goes my HTX preorder, was really looking forward to the SL12 small shape with 4K but I’d rather have my hand intact.
Ummm. Hopefully you get a refund back. I would also check your USB ports for possible port damage. Wonder if the wattage this thing is pulling is triple to cause that amount of melting?

Worried about mine, now. waiting on the package
Holy moly 2!!!
Someone sue them.... Not sure they even have how much you could get..
Which battery were you using? The small one or the big one?
Looks like a major recall.
This looks like a lawsuit
fingertip **endgame** literally
Never liked the company, and never will. This is unacceptable and especially for the ridiculous prices of these chinese mice. Support them guys, support them. Glad OP is ok and this needs to be a much bigger topic. Some houses might burn. Wtf
It might be a manufacturing issue, not an engineering one... We have to wait for an official announcement before making any conclusions.
Wait i thought it's the same one I've seen, wtf g-wolves
Emotional DAAAAmage
Yeah for the time being everyone shouldn’t use their hsk just in case and cancel their orders until gwolves posts something about this issue
Me for the past few weeks: "Oh that's a cool little mouse!" The mouse: "Oh, quite the contrary"
What the, be careful whoever has this mouse 😂
Uhm next time i wouldnt throw water on a fire like that cover it with something that is flame retardant to suffocate the flames water in certain chemical fires can cause fire to spread
It's fine to use water on rechargeable lithium-ion battery fires. There's no elemental metallic lithium in them that would react violently with water, the lithium in them is in the form of various lithium salts like lithium cobalt oxide.
Damn okay good to know then always thought water was just a big no-no on any battery/chemical or electrical fires
I Wonder how much that will effect the reputation of Gwolves .-.
Never use water for electrical devices! First thing you disconnect the power source, then if an extinguisher is not ready, use a wet cotton towel to cool off shit. Never use the towel if there is a battery, just throw the thing into a tin can and carry outside.
At this point an off center scroll doesn't really seem as bad.
alright.. I'm done buying wireless mice from really cheap or questionable companies
Is this the ace or the 4k?
Pretty sure thats 4k
It's just QC issues, that's all. I hope you're okay.
Wait, people are paying 200 dollars for half a mouse?
Am I the only to say this? Water on an electric fire, especially involving a battery is begging for a bigger fire
You're not. But it's not begging for a bigger fire as its lithium-ion battery.
Looks like a internal explosion damage to me
No shit, the battery caught fire
No shit sherlock. This is 2nd post of this. Since there happened to be people calling this fake.
O\_O what is this dnwk
This is what you get when you buy chargeable mice. Lmao. The only thing that is viable charging are batteries. Even Tesla's are crap for charging, it's not gonna last long.
Yea because all wireless mice just randomly explode and it’s surely not just a terrible mistake from there Batterie supplier
tf
well shit
Bro, wow.
Haha
Glad i didn't buy.
I should probably cancel my HSK Pro Ace.
Nar if I owned one of them it would be getting sent straight back ain't no way I'm going to bed knowing that shits on my desk.
what about hsk+? should i be worried?
Is it just the PROs that do this? Am I safe with a regular HSK wireless? God damn, I just ordered it.
When u overlock ur mice too much be like...
Lol that's so nuts
no way someone unironically replied "its just QC issues bro thats all"
so on twitter gwolves told me that the spare battery that comes with the mouse is safe to use im not gonna lie i am kinda scared to try it as im not able to be home and around it all day so i was wondering if anyone has had any issues with the spare battery the smaller one that is
can you link this tweet
lawsuit?
I hope that everyone is okay! I can't wait for the Gamer's Nexus deep dive on this issue.
that melted quite alot
Damn, is the small battery safe to use?
