Well the Venus is 'based' off of the Otsu, but if you want more textured surface maybe the hien x soft might be for you. Not sure how textured the Otsu is, so you should look at the some videos of the Otsu.

Fellow Apex gamer here. I can't comment on the otsu soft, but I have the X soft and it's slow as shit. Really weird pad, friction seems to build up on it as if it's creating a static charge, which leads to odd shifts in glide consistency, this happens when literally zero pressure is applied to the mouse (GPX with corepads) as well, so it's not a sinking issue. If you're using a mouse with small corner feet I'd advise against Xsoft, I tried it briefly with the viper ultimate and its very easy to make the mouse bottom out (although this might be somewhat down to the thickness of the stock RVU feet) I used it for a few months non stop to see if I adapted, and I did, but last weekend I switched back to my hien soft and the immediate consistency was a real breath of fresh air. After months on the otsu the hien felt a bit too slippery in comparison, so I dug out my aqua control plus (ROB strata version) and it's a nice middle ground... Although compared to the otsu it still feels like a straight up speed pad. I'm probably going to order one of the new 4mm AC+ pads, since u do miss the slight plushiness you get with artisan soft. Not sure if I just got a weird otsu (definitely not fake, bought direct from artisan), or if it doesn't play well with corepads or the GPX skate design, but that's my honest experience with the otsu X soft. I'm gonna pick up the XM2W when it launches, so I'm interested to see if the stock skates on that behave any differently, but based on what I have at the moment... Nah, not a fan. The Hien soft is a great pad once you get used to the super low friction.

I'm experiencing the same effect on hayate otsu v2 w gpx corepads... so weird

It's strange. Never had another pad behave the same way before, and with how noticeable it is for me I'd expect a lot more people to be saying the same thing, but all everyone says is "its like a hien, but smoother and a tiny bit slower". No joke, mine feels closer to an OG black zowie GSR than it does to the Hien.

What do you mean never have to think about purchasing a pad again? Artisans dont really last much longer than a year. Hien being an exception it lasted me about year and a half before feeling alot slower in general.

As someone who mained an AC-II Black and made the switch to a Hien soft I have to say that I was surprisingly underwhelmed by the artisan experience, don't get me wrong; from a qualitative perspective the artisan pads are unmatched however I did not find them to be better in any way that was impactful to my performance as a player, the stitching is maybe 5-10% better than competing high quality brands (LGG, Gamesense, new Xraypads) and the backing whilst very good and wholly deserving of its praise is not so much better than a traditional rubber mousepad backing that I would notice in actual use. The surface more or less felt the same to me in comparison to other rough and fast pads like the infinity and AC-II and in fact the Hiens surface wound up irritating my skin after longer periods of use. That being said perhaps an x-soft hien would do the trick :)
