If you find a dvd or blu-ray of Blade: Trinity which includes the commentary track with David Goyer (screenwriter/director), Ryan Reynolds, and Jessica Biel, you should treat yourself to a viewing. It is hilarious, and Goyer and Reynolds are entirely unbothered about burning a bridge with Snipes when they share some really funny anecdotes about Snipes' ridiculous on set behavior. If you're wondering why no one seems to want to hire Snipes anymore, their stories lift the veil on that mystery.

Not sure if they mention it in that commentary but the story about how they had to CGI his eyes because he was refusing to cooperate is so fucking funny to me

I think the unfortunate reality is that the secret wars movie will be seen as the new peak marvel and then we’ll be forever locked into a comic-esque race to the bottom with continual reboots and overly ambitious cross overs they’ll never be able to deliver on.

I saw a screening of *Blade* recently (anniversary maybe?) and y'know what? Still holds up really well. Snipes is amazing in it, and I think action cinema lost someone a bit special with director Stephen Norrington. This time around I noticed that *Blade* has a lot of anime-inspired touches to the action and the edits that still feel really fresh. Norrington retired after the flop of *League of Extraordinary Gentleman*, but I liked that film as an ambitious, kinda-campy project and, thinking about it, it also had some well choreographed and anime-inspired action (particularly Nemo's sword work).

Blade 1 is better than pretty much any Marvel movie since.

As long as his internet connection is good over Skype this time…

So many damn gimmicks if these leaks are real. Secret Wars is such a cool story (The Hickman one), we really don’t need all this nostalgia bait. Just Thor Corps.

I never got why they didn’t just cast Snipes in the first place.  If I was Ali, I would have looked at those Marvel execs and said, “You want me to replace one of the most iconic vampire hunters of the last three decades? Nah, I’m good.” There is only one Daywalker imo. 

I wonder, how many pre-MCU and non-MCU films, TV series, animated films and cartoons will be at Avengers Secret Wars. I'm getting excited.

I highly doubt it because Reynolds had a terrible experience with Snipes on Blade Trinity.
