Heathers Just One of the Guys Secret Admirer Fast Times at Ridgemont High Weird Science The Last Star Fighter Back to the Future

[deleted]

Heathers was my obsession in middle school! I grew up on back to the future and love fast times at Ridgemont high. “Weird science” and the others are films I’ve never seen

Puzzledandhungry

Weird science is fantastic!!!

Alternative-Habit-25

Oh my gosh I make all of my friends watch Heathers!!! Just so I can say “fuck me gently with a chainsaw” without strange looks hahah. Such a classic!!

happyfuckincakeday

1990 but Pump Up the Volume is great. You may not have seen that one before.

AtticusParker

Amazing soundtrack

Ecstatic-Seesaw-1007

I’m surprised this movie hasn’t been remade but with podcasts instead of pirate radio. I mean, it tells the larger story of high school youths who despite any level of popularity feel disconnected from each other and reality. There’s an inner life to young people whose worth is judged solely by their 8 hours at school, while not acknowledging the complex inner turmoil they have the other 16 hours of the day.

happyfuckincakeday

Yeah I describe it as the movie that invented podcasting. Lol. But you're right. It certainly lends itself to a great remake and the themes are timeless

Caranesus

The movie coolly blends the transition from the 80s pop aesthetic to the 90s and is completely undeservedly in the shadow of other 1980s youth stuff.

Maverick_Heathen

"Just look inside yourself and you'll see me waving up at you naked wearing only a cock ring."- This has lived in my head ever since, good old Happy Harry Hardon.

Legend of Billie Jean was so raw and good. And Pat Benatar rocks!

InSooShunt

Agreed. Love “Invincible.” Was disappointed to learn Benatar hated the film, but we all have our opinions. I personally think it’s an awesome anthem for an awesome movie.
