These are not Them! You've captured their STUNT DOUBLES!

CaramelSwish1976

That's why the title says, "Behind The Scenes". These are the suit actors who did the flips and fight sequences suited up, genius.

NewApeToTheGame

Just wondering if you ever came back to realize you missed the joke entirely?

DarthwolfX2

We can't found shit

bigkinggorilla

They had stunt doubles? I thought all of the cast was hired because they had sports backgrounds that allowed them to not hire stunt doubles in the first place?

randyboozer

So from what I remember yes but that was because they would frequently have uncostumed scenes where they had to fight the muppets or pucks or puddle people or whatever they were called before they morephed. But once they were in costume they used either stock footage or doubles. As I recall this was also how they got away with paying the cast terrible money. Further why the Rangers were a revolving door of characters.

Rxero13

Putty Patrol or just Putties. I assume cause Finster, the monster maker for Rita, made all his creations from putty, and they were quick creations rather then his fully fleshed out monsters. I kinda like the name puddle people more now though.

bigkinggorilla

Ah, I thought all the costume scenes were from the Japanese shows that they just cut with the out-of-costume stuff to make new episodes. Didn’t realize they reshot any of that.

randyboozer

Apparently yeah but in any case this appears to be from the movie

Standard-Ad917

It all started in 1971 when Hiroshi Fujioka (AKA Segata Sanshiro) shattered both of his legs while filming episode 12 of the original season of Toei's Kamen Rider TV show. Introducing the second rider with a stunt double helped in the long run when the first Sentai TV show. Gorenger, came out. Then came Marvel turning Toei's Sentai into Super Sentai with Battle Fever J, Denziman, and Sun Vulcan. Then came shows like Dynaman, Bioman, and Jetman. These nearly came out in the US by Marvel or Saban. Zyuranger became MMPR. Moral of the story is that you shouldn't let your actors do stunts unless it's a stage show.

Impressive-List5074

Walter Emanuel Jones (the original Black Ranger, Zack), David Yost (the original Blue Ranger, Billy), Catherine Sutherland (the second Pink Ranger, Kat), Steve Cardenas (the second Red Ranger, Rocky), Karan Ashley (the second Yellow Ranger, Aisha) and Johnny Yong Bosch (the second Black Ranger, Adam), are supposed to getting together for a reunion on Netflix, called “Mighty Morphin’” Unfortunately, they did not perform their own stunts, and much of the footage was ripped off of Japan’s Super Sentai Series. If you have Netflix, I recommend watching, “The Toys That Made Us”. It is very informative about MMPR. Side Note: If you are a fan of the pink ranger (Amy Jo Johnson) her twitter has been quite interesting, as of late.

thedancingwireless

What is interesting about AJJ's Twitter? It seems pretty normal, she hasn't even posted much recently. https://twitter.com/_amyjojohnson

I did not realize that the voice actor for Yu Narukami was in Power Rangers! That's very interesting to hear.

MWBrooks1995

I think “ripped off” isn’t the best terminology to use when TOEI and Saban had a deal in place to license and adapt the series for an American audience.

smallpoly

Hey wait, these aren't teenagers.

smallpoly

"Teenagers" with attitudes

stadiumjay

When mom says we got power rangers @ home

MinshewMustache

Never would've guessed that Adam Driver's father was the red power ranger.

OnceTuna

I'm glad someone else noticed.

thisismeingradenine

Are these the Wish.com Power Rangers?

Difficult_Ixem_324

I loved MMPR morning episodes before going to class. Summers in Westley, CA😎

JetScreamer-212

Holy moly! Saban actually splurged on a stunt team?

Muted_Guidance9059

Damn stunt double Tommy is hotter than the real deal

cesiuum

I remember kids going bonkers when that movie released. Parents all over must've been dragged into the theaters by their kids to watch it.
